Capítulo 71: Chapter 71 The Beautiful Night

The evening breeze in Belobog carried a refreshing coolness, a welcome relief after the long battle. It gently stirred the bonfires scattered throughout the city, causing the flames to dance in harmony with the night.

Along the streets, strings of lights stretched about lighting up some streets, winding their way through the city in a continuous stream of brilliance. The soft, golden glow illuminated the worn cobblestones, casting a magical light over the festivities, making even the broken bricks and fallen tiles seem part of the charm.

In the heart of the city, the central square was alive with celebration. Long tables were covered with an array of delicious food—baskets overflowing with freshly baked bread, platters of sizzling meats, and bowls of vibrant fruits and vegetables.

People gathered in groups, laughing and chatting as they made their way toward the square, eager to celebrate.

Even though there are only a few complete bricks and tiles on the street, they add a classic touch. The gears from the Golden Theater have fallen off, creating an artistic display on the ground in front of the door. Tourists come to take photos of this installation art.

The square itself was filled with the sound of ancient Belobog folk songs, their melodies echoing through the night as musicians played traditional instruments. Arm in arm, the people swayed to the music, bottles of fine wine clutched in their hands as they prepared to dance and sing the night away.

Joy and relief filled the air, the warmth of camaraderie bringing everyone together in celebration of their victory and the city's enduring spirit.

A temporary stage stood proudly in the center of Belobog's bustling square. Where the city's renowned symphony orchestra—usually seen in theaters—joined forces with local folk bands, their contrasting melodies blending harmoniously.

The streets, alive with festivities, were filled with families and couples, adding to the warming atmosphere.

The celebration brings together many people who didn't know each other before, adding to Belobog's sense of community.

Among the crowd, one couple stood out from all the rest, not just for their status but for the undeniable presence they carried. Cocolia and Orion were unmistakable, even without their usual military uniforms.

Tonight, they had traded their uniforms for more casual attire, making them appear more approachable, yet somehow even more striking. The sight of them together, free from their duties and responsibilities, drew countless eyes.

Cocolia wore a white knit sweater that clung to her figure, paired with a sleek black skirt that accentuated her graceful curves. Her legs crossed elegantly as she walked, and though her appearance was simple, it radiated a confidence that turned heads. She looked different from the authoritative leader people knew—more relaxed, yet somehow even more captivating.

Orion, standing tall beside her, wore a simple gray coat that highlighted his athletic build, his toned muscles visible even beneath the casual wear. His white windbreaker, adorned with subtle cloud patterns, gave him the air of a traveler, a man always on the move yet grounded in the moment. Together, they looked like a pair from a different world—both beautiful and commanding, yet at peace amidst the celebration around them.

As they walked through the streets, laughter and whispers followed them.

"Hey, look at those two! They look amazing."

"I can't believe it, haha..."

"They look perfect for each other..."

Despite the chatter, Cocolia and Orion enjoyed the festival going on. They strolled through the streets like a couple, visiting food stalls and art shops and taking in the night view of Belobog.

Shopkeepers eagerly offered them their best treats, insisting that they didn't need to pay. Whenever Cocolia tried to pay, the shopkeepers would politely refuse.

Because of Cocolia's policies and the seven-year weather stability period when the stellaron was sealed, Belobog's food supply has greatly improved. Thanks to this success, stall owners set up free stalls for the citizens, providing a wonderful night for everyone.

Walking through the brightly lit streets, Bronya and Seele, who stood out with their purple and gray hair, were seen enjoying their time. They seemed much closer now compared to before, looking relaxed and happy together.

"Ah! Uncle Orion!"

Bronya tensed up when she saw Orion Astra approaching, and Seele beside her also seemed on edge. They went over to Cocolia and Orion.

"Hey, I didn't realize I was old enough to be called 'uncle'," Orion said with a sigh, hands behind his head.

"It's not that I mind your age," Bronya said nervously, grabbing Seele's hand with one hand and keeping the other behind her. She then greeted Cocolia.

"Good evening, Mother."

Seele, with a friendly gesture, shook hands with Orion and said, "Hello, great hero Orion. Your performance in the battle today was amazing. Just now, the children in the Underworld were imitating your moves from when you destroyed the stellaron."

Orion smiled and shaken Seele's hand politely. "You're welcome; just call me Orion."

Noticing Bronya's unease and understanding that Bronya and Orion hadn't seen each other for seven years, Cocolia smiled and accepted Bronya's greetings. She took a photo and patted Bronya's shoulder, saying, "Go have fun with your friend; don't worry about us."

Bronya nodded and left with Seele. "This child has grown up so much," Orion said, watching Bronya leave.

"Yes, a few years ago, she was just at my chest, and now she's almost at my height," Cocolia said, looking at Bronya with affection.

Even though their relationship isn't biological, Cocolia treats Bronya like her own daughter, helping her excel in knowledge, skills, and strategy.

With her experience in observing the lower-class areas and Seele's guidance, Cocolia is confident that even if she were to fall in battle, Bronya would be ready to take on the role of Supreme Guardian.

"By the way, did you really give that lance to Stelle?" Orion asked, recalling the new lance Stelle was holding. From its style and length, it seemed to be the one Cocolia usually used.

"What could I do?" Cocolia shrugged and rolled her eyes at Orion. "When I saw Stelle earlier, I felt this urge to give it to her."

Stelle's drew the keen attention of the Preservation Aeon, and in that moment, she seemed to embody an entirely different person. The shift in her presence was palpable, radiating a newfound strength that energized those around her. As a result, the Silvermane Guard stationed nearby experienced significantly fewer casualties, their morale bolstered by the powerful aura emanating from Stelle.

Reflecting on that day, Cocolia couldn't help but share her thoughts. To her, Stelle's transformation felt almost like cheating. The intensity of the situation was undeniable, yet the lance in Stelle's hand had triggered an extraordinary surge of power. It was as if Stelle herself had been able to tap into the creation engine she was piloting. Although she thought of it as an illusion.

"It's so beautiful tonight," Orion sighed softly. After many years, he walked this street again, reflecting on the ever-changing people and scenery. He felt a deep sense of nostalgia.

"Yes, Belobog is what it is today because of your foresight and planning," Cocolia said, walking down the brick-paved street with her high heels clicking clearly.

"Not really," Orion replied, looking up at the sky. "I just shared a few ideas. It's your hard work that made this all happen."

"Hey, Orion, can I ask you something?" Cocolia suddenly stopped in front of Orion Astra, looking more melancholic than usual.

"Of course," Orion Astra noticed something was off with Cocolia.

"Do you think I'm beautiful?"

Her question echoed in the cold wind. They were now on the steps to the Supreme Guardian's office. This scene, like the moonlight from seven years ago, brought back many memories for Orion Astra.

"You are beautiful..." After a long pause, Orion finally spoke, expressing his true feelings.

The cold moonlight bathed the person in front of him in silver. Her long, golden hair fluttered in the wind.

Her purple gem-like eyes conveyed both delicate fragility and endearing regret, blending perfectly with the bright moon above. It created a breathtaking scene.

The icy beauty in front of Orion held an expression that seemed to belong solely to him—a glimpse of vulnerability and tenderness beneath her usual stoic exterior.

Despite the distance between them, it was evident that Orion cared for her in ways he might not fully comprehend. There was a connection that transcended mere words, one forged in shared battles and quiet moments of understanding.

Yet Orion maintained a clear gaze, his demeanor composed and focused. His response to Cocolia was shaped not only by the conventional standards of beauty but also by the subtle stirrings of his own emotions.

As Cocolia recognized Orion Astra's reaction, she silently extended her hand toward him. Without hesitation, he took it, their fingers intertwining as they shared a moment that slowly ascended into the night sky.

Cocolia was much calmer now than she had been back then. Perhaps she was accustomed to the sky, or maybe her change in mindset made her calmer.

The moon tonight was a full moon, much like that night seven years ago, but this time, there were no white clouds lingering. On this clear night, the lights of Belobog below were vividly visible, perfectly reflecting the night sky.

"Is Belobog beautiful?"

In the sky, Cocolia asked Orion once more.

"It's beautiful." After another pause, Orion looked at the city below and gave his answer.

Compared to seven years ago, the city has certainly changed a lot. But people's optimistic attitudes and many life-and-death moments remain much the same.

This is the "change and constancy" of the city. Despite numerous changes, people still express their "love, hate, and sadness" in their own ways. These feelings can't be fully captured by just those four words, but their rich diversity is undeniably captivating.

"Beautiful people and beautiful cities—why can't they make a traveler stay?" Cocolia mused, her voice laced with a distant tone, as if she were reflecting on something far beyond the immediate moment. Orion understood the depth of her words, sensing the bittersweet longing behind them.

He fell silent, the weight of her feelings hanging in the air between them.

Meanwhile, amidst the city full of festivities, the Astral Express crew had already settled into the luxurious Goethe Hotel, the best accommodation Belobog had to offer.

After the recent battles, they were exhausted. According to their plans, they would stay one more day before returning on the Astral Express.

Yet Orion was destined for a different path, one that would lead him to many different places.

"The movement of the Express isn't fixed and will return to its previous stops from time to time," he finally said, breaking the silence.

Cocolia turned to him, curiosity glimmering in her eyes. "How often is 'from time to time'?"

His words seemed to lift a weight on her that made her exhale softly, perhaps a sigh of relief.

"If you don't want to wait too long, I have a gift for you," he continued, his tone shifting to one of assurance.

With a subtle flick of his wrist, a glowing "door" appeared in Orion's hand, radiating a warm light that pulsed gently.

Cocolia's eyes widened in surprise and curiosity as the shimmering portal transformed, twisting into a brilliant stream of light that merged seamlessly into her right hand.

"This is one of my abilities," he explained, his gaze steady and sincere. "You can set up a portal in a fixed location, and if needed, you can use this portal to see me."

"Really?" Cocolia's eyes sparkled, the initial resentment she felt toward Orion's impending departure beginning to melt away. The prospect of being able to connect with him, no matter the distance, filled her with a sense of hope and excitement.

"Yes," Orion affirmed, his voice firm yet gentle. "This is my promise to you.

Orion Astra's words reminded Cocolia of something from long ago. Seven years ago, or even earlier, Orion had stayed here because of a promise. It was the most reassuring thing Orion could offer Cocolia.

The two exchanged glances in silence, but they gradually approached each other. A lone cloud drifted over them, hiding their figures in the sky.

No one could see them, and no one would know what transpired in this space shared between just the two of them.

The moon hung high in the sky, casting its silver light over the planet, illuminating the world with a soft glow.
