Capítulo 1: chapter 1

(A/n: mc name is Sāi Xī Lín (塞西林) almost the same as cecilia (塞西莉亚) name. )

The dim glow of the computer screen illuminated the room, casting faint shadows on the cluttered desk.

Sāi Xī Lín let out a groan, leaning back in his chair and stretching until his joints popped.

"Ahhh, so tired," he muttered, his voice carrying the weight of hours spent in front of the screen.

With a weary glance at the monitor, he slumped forward, resting his chin on his palm.

A faint sigh escaped him as he stared at the spreadsheet that had consumed his evening.

"The world after school is so hard. So many things to do just to make a living..."

His eyes wandered to the clock on the wall. Its ticking seemed louder than usual in the stillness of the night.

"It's already past 12 a.m."

He leaned back, rubbing his temples. Despite the exhaustion, a faint smile played on his lips.

"At least I've got a job where I can work from home..."

Sliding his chair back, Sāi Xī Lín stood up and stretched again. As he moved, his stomach let out a loud growl, breaking the silence.

"Uh, yeah, I need to eat," he said, scratching the back of his head.

He turned and walked toward his bed. Kneeling down, he reached a hand under it, rummaging through the collection of random items stashed there.

Old notebooks, a forgotten sock, and...

His fingers brushed against the familiar texture of a plastic packet. He grinned and pulled it out.

"Ah, there you are, my favorite instant noodles."

He held the packet up, the brightly colored packaging reflecting the soft light from the computer screen.

His stomach growled again, louder this time, urging him to get to eat.

The room was modest, barely big enough to hold the essentials.

His bed was crammed into one corner, his workspace dominated another, and the kitchen area took up what little space remained.

Two doors stood out on the plain walls—one led to the outside, the other to the bathroom.

Sai shuffled to the kitchen, the faint creak of the floor accompanying his steps.

Reaching up to the cabinet, he pulled out a small, slightly dented kettle. Its handle wobbled a bit, but it had served him faithfully through countless late-night meals.

He moved to the sink, twisting the tap to let a steady stream of water fill the kettle.

His stomach growled again, louder this time, as if demanding attention.

"Shhh, I know you're hungry, but patience," he muttered, glancing down as if scolding his own body.

His hand reached out to shut off the tap, and he carried the kettle over to the stove.

Placing it down, he clicked the burner on, the soft whoosh of igniting gas filling the quiet room.

As the blue flames licked the bottom of the kettle, he leaned against the counter, arms crossed, waiting for the water to boil.

"Just a bit longer," he mumbled, his eyes half-lidded with fatigue.

The hum of the kettle warming was the only sound, blending with the faint buzz of the computer he'd left on.

Sai reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone.

As he tapped the screen to unlock it, the faint light from the display illuminated his tired face.

Several notifications blinked at him, most from WeChat.

"Notifications? Did someone DM me?"

He opened the app, scrolling through a list of unread messages.

The familiar green icon of a group chat caught his attention, accompanied by multiple pings.

"Oh, it's just this group. What do they want now?"

With a sigh, he tapped on the group chat. His face darkened as he skimmed through the messages.

Wei: [@Sāi Cecilia-sama where are you!]

Zhihao: [@Sāi @Sāi @Sāi]

Yong: [@Sāi]

His thumb flicked upward, scrolling past the relentless mentions until he reached the latest part of the conversation.

Wei: [I think he's dead. Maybe Siegfried got him.]

Yong: [+1]

Zhihao: [+1]

Sai stared at his screen in silence, his face void of expression.

Sai: [....]

Before he could respond, a new flurry of messages popped up.

Zhihao: [Oh my god, he's alive?!]

Yong: [Unbelievable.]

Wei: [True.]

Sai clenched his jaw, typing furiously.

Sai: [Screw you!!]

Laughter erupted in the chat as his friends piled on.

Zhihao: [Hahaha!]

Wei: [Haha +1]

Yong: [+1]

Sai pinched the bridge of his nose, his eyebrow twitching as he glared at the screen.

Sai [What do you guys want...?]

After a brief pause, another string of messages appeared.

Zhihao: [Well, we decided to go to the anime con this weekend.]

Yong: [Yeah.]

Sai: [Just that?]

Wei: [No, we were discussing whether to buy you a Cecilia cosplay or not.]

Yong: [+1]

Zhihao: [+1]

Sai stared blankly at the screen, a mixture of disbelief and annoyance washing over him.

Sai: [.....]

Sai furiously typed into the chat, his fingers moving at lightning speed.

Sai: [Just because my name is similar to her doesn't mean I'm her!!" ]

The response was almost instant.

Yong:[If we imagine enough, you do look like her.]

Zhihao:[+1]

Wei: [+1]

Sai froze, staring at the screen with an incredulous expression. His jaw tightened as he typed again.

Sai: [..... I'm manly! I'm not gonna wear any girl cosplay.]

The group chat erupted in a series of replies.

Zhihao: "It takes a real man to be the best waifu."

Wei: [+1]

Yong: [+1]

Sai let out a long sigh, feeling the faint pulse of a headache coming on.

Sai:[.... Screw you!]

He slammed his phone down on the counter, his eyebrow twitching violently.

"Sigh..."

The kettle's whistle cut through his frustration, sharp and insistent. He turned to it, shaking his head, and reached out to turn off the stove. Just as he was about to lift the kettle, another notification buzzed on his phone.

He glanced at it, his face darkening further, before resolutely deciding to ignore it.

Sai carefully poured the hot water into the instant noodle cup, watching as the steam rose and filled the room with a savory aroma. He placed the lid back on the cup and carried it over to his desk, balancing it carefully as he maneuvered around his chair.

Sitting down, he adjusted his posture, letting out a small groan of relief as he leaned back against the chair. His eyes turned to his PC screen, still glowing faintly from the earlier work.

With a few clicks, he opened his browser and typed "Bilibili" into the search bar. The familiar site loaded quickly, displaying a variety of videos, from anime clips to game streams. He scrolled slowly, his eyes darting over the thumbnails.

"Let's see... something good to watch while eating."

After a few more moments of scrolling, he clicked on a video that caught his attention—an energetic anime opening compilation. The cheerful music filled the room as the video started.

He picked up the noodle cup, peeling the lid off to reveal the perfectly cooked noodles inside. Grabbing his chopsticks, he stirred the noodles lightly before taking a bite.

Slurp, slurp.

The sound of him eating filled the quiet room, blending with the upbeat music from the video. He leaned closer to the screen, fully engrossed in both the taste of his meal and the visuals playing out before him.

For a moment, the chaotic messages from his friends and the stress of work melted away, replaced by the comforting routine of late-night noodles and videos.

Ding ding.

The familiar sound of a notification broke through the music and slurping. Sai paused mid-bite, his chopsticks hovering over the noodles.

"Sigh... What do they want again?"

He carefully placed the noodle cup on the side of his desk, glaring at his phone as if it were the source of all his troubles. Picking it up, he unlocked the screen to check the group chat.

Wei: [@Sai Sai, don't leave us hanging. Tell us your thoughts!]

Zhihao: [Yeah, what do you think about the anime con? Will you go with us this weekend?]

Yong: [Rest assured, about the cosplay—we already decided to buy you one.]

Sai stared at the screen, his expression blank.

Sai: [.....]

Yong: [I take that as a yes.]

Zhihao: [+1]

Wei: [+1]

He rubbed his temples, feeling a headache forming.

Sai:[Even if I refuse, you're still dragging me there, aren't you?]

Zhihao:[You really know us! Are you sure you're not a stalker?]

Wei:[I don't mind.]

Yong:[You have weird taste, Wei...]

Wei:[But Sai really does look like Cecilia if he cosplays as her... soooooo.]

Zhihao:[I understand you, brother.]

Yong: [I could agree with that.]

Sai stared at the screen, his eyebrow twitching in frustration.

Sai: [....]

Letting out another heavy sigh, he locked his phone and tossed it onto the desk.

"Idiots..."

He leaned back in his chair, rubbing his face with his hands. For a moment, he considered just ignoring them entirely, but the thought of being dragged into their antics regardless made him shudder.

"At least let me eat in peace..."

As Sai reached for his noodles again, another notification broke the momentary peace.

Ding.

This time, it wasn't from his phone. He glanced at his PC screen, narrowing his eyes.

"Hmmm? An email?"

He clicked on the mailbox icon, and sure enough, a new message had arrived. The subject line read: "Survey."

"A survey? What kind of survey do people even send to my email? Sigh... Don't tell me it's another one of those scammer bots."

Curiosity got the better of him, and he clicked on the email. The title of the survey popped up in bold letters: "Isekai Survey."

For a moment, he blinked at the screen, his fatigue momentarily replaced with intrigue.

"Isekai survey? Well, it's not a lie to say I find this interesting."

He tapped the link, which led him to a simple webpage with a minimalistic design. The title "Isekai Survey: Your Path to Another World" hovered at the top, followed by the first question.

---

1. If given a chance, would you go to a different place?

Without hesitation, Sai clicked [Yes.]

---

2. If you have a family, do you want a daughter or a son?

Sai stared at the question, then let out a small scoff.

"What kind of question is this? Of course, daughter. Next question."

---

The survey continued, each question diving deeper into his preferences, hobbies, and views on life. Some were mundane, while others were oddly specific, but Sai answered them all with varying degrees of sarcasm and honesty.

---

20. If the world you go to has connections with other worlds, would you want that?

He clicked "Yes" without hesitation.

"Of course, I want that. But really, is this an 'isekai' survey? Where's the system question thingy? You half-baked otaku!"

He leaned back in his chair, crossing his arms.

After clicking on the final question, the light from the screen dimmed unexpectedly, catching Sai off guard.

"Huh?"

Before he could react further, the screen began to brighten, rapidly growing so intense that it filled the entire room with blinding light. Instinctively, he raised both hands to shield his face, striking a pose eerily reminiscent of a certain popular meme.

"Water park! What's wrong with this website?!"

The light continued to grow until it became unbearable. Then, just as suddenly as it started, it began to fade. The room returned to its normal dim lighting, but one thing was missing—sai.

The freshly cooked instant noodles sat untouched on the desk, steam rising lazily from the cup.

---

Sai was still in the same pose, hands covering his face.

After a few minutes, he peeked out cautiously, noticing the light was gone.

"Nothing happened?"

He looked around, lowering his hands. Everything seemed exactly as it was—the same desk, the same bed, the same dimly lit room.

"Fuck! I got scammed!"

Frustration surged as he slammed his hands on the desk.

"I thought this was really going to be one of those 'isekai' plots! You know, where I get transported to another world as the main character!"

He leaned back in his chair, rubbing his temples. His disappointment was so overwhelming that he failed to notice the subtle change in his surroundings.

On the side of the desk, a new photo sat in a small frame. It showed a white-haired woman and a purple-haired girl standing side by side, smiling warmly. The picture was completely unfamiliar, but Sai didn't even glance at it.

He sighed and turned his head to the window.

"Wait... it's already morning???"

The golden rays of sunlight spilled into the room, and the sun hung high in the sky.

"What the hell? It was midnight just a few minutes ago!"

Staring out the window in disbelief.

Suddenly, something covered part of his view. Sai blinked in confusion, catching sight of strands of white falling into his line of vision.

"Hair?"

He instinctively reached up, grabbing hold of the unfamiliar locks and giving them a tug.

"Ouch! That hurt... Wait, hurt?"

A jolt of realization struck him as the sensation registered. This wasn't someone else's hair—this was his.

He scrambled to his feet, the chair scraping against the floor. As he stood, more of the white strands slid off his shoulders, cascading down his back in soft waves.

"So long..." He hesitated, swallowing hard.

"When did my hair get so long? Wait... my voice..."

A wave of dread hit as he began to speak again, his words shaky.

"Test, test... Hello, hello."

The voice that came out wasn't his. No matter what he tried, it was higher, softer—a distinctly feminine voice. And worse yet, it was a voice that felt eerily familiar.

Panic rising, he bolted to the bathroom, throwing the door open and rushing to the mirror. His hands gripped the edges of the sink as he stared at the reflection before him.

"...."

Sai stared into the mirror, their breath catching in their throat. The reflection staring back was no longer their own—it was a strikingly beautiful face, framed by flowing, silky white hair cascading down to their waist. The face was delicate , with sharp, piercing blue eyes . High cheekbones and a perfectly sculpted nose added to the almost otherworldly beauty.

The reflection blinked when Sai did, confirming it wasn't some kind of illusion.

"I... I look like Cecilia…"

The realization hit hard as Sai leaned closer to the mirror, touching their face. The soft skin under their fingers only reinforced the truth—they had somehow taken on the appearance of Cecilia, a character they and their friends often joked about.

---

A few minutes later, Sai—no, Cecilia—stepped out of the bathroom, her thoughts still a chaotic mess. She glanced around her room, but something about it felt... off. It was both familiar and unfamiliar at the same time.

The once cluttered yet livable space she knew now looked pristine and organized. The desk, once a battlefield of cables and papers, was now neatly arranged, with everything in its proper place. Even the bed had changed; the single bed he had always slept on was now a cozy double bed, complete with elegant sheets and fluffy pillows.

"This room... it's so cozy."

Her eyes wandered to the desk, where she noticed a picture frame sitting prominently at the edge. She picked it up, curiosity tugging at her.

In the frame, a white-haired woman smiled warmly beside a purple-haired girl with piercing yellow eyes. The image made her heart skip a beat.

"Cecilia and... Sirin."

Her voice wavered slightly as the reality of her situation sank deeper. This wasn't just her reflection anymore—this was her life now.

"That would be me from now on…"

She gently placed the picture back in its spot, exhaling deeply in an attempt to collect herself. Just then, the sound of the front door opening interrupted her thoughts.

"Mom, I'm back!"

The voice startled her, and she turned toward the door. Standing there was the purple-haired girl from the picture—Sirin. She looked to be around 12 or 13 years old, her long, flowing hair shining under the sunlight streaming into the room. Her yellow eyes looked directly at Cecilia, concern flickering within them.

"Mom?"

For a moment, Cecilia froze, unsure how to respond. But then, she forced a smile, her voice steady.

"Oh, Welcome back home, Sirin."

Sirin gave a small nod, her expression softening as she closed the door behind her.
