"Since when?" I grasped at Karyn's hands and she squeezed back, the two of us locked in a moment only we could share. I'd left him in her care not so long ago. He'd been abandoned, broken, insane, dumped on the streets of her city. When her people found him they'd taken him home to her and she'd cared for him personally since then.
