Capítulo 1: Prologue

James Potter paced the dimly lit nursery with a sense of urgency, his every step a testament to the dread gnawing at him. The air was thick with an uneasy charge, as though the very atmosphere was alive with foreboding. Lily, settled in the old rocking chair, cradled baby Harry in her arms, her gaze darting to her husband with a look of concern.

"James, what's wrong?" Lily whispered, her voice barely above a murmur, betraying her anxiety.

James paused, glancing at the window where the night's chill seemed to penetrate through the glass. "I don't know, Lils," he murmured, his voice tinged with a worry he couldn't shake. "It's just this... feeling. It's like something's coming."

Their daughter Rose, snug in her crib, stirred slightly at the tension that filled the room. James moved closer to Lily, wrapping an arm around her shoulders in a protective embrace. "Maybe it's nothing," he said, though his own words offered little comfort.

James's instincts, honed from countless battles against Voldemort and his Death Eaters, were screaming at him to be on high alert. The sense of impending doom was palpable, and despite his efforts to calm himself, he could not ignore the gnawing fear that something terrible was about to happen.

Without warning, the tranquility of the night was shattered by a thunderous crash. The front door burst open with an explosive force, sending splinters of wood scattering across the hallway. James's heart pounded like a war drum as he instinctively threw himself in front of Lily and the twins, his body a human shield against the encroaching darkness. Through the smoke-filled doorway, a figure emerged—Voldemort, the Dark Lord himself, cloaked in shadows and malice.

"Lily, take the kids and get out of here!" James shouted, his voice a desperate blend of fear and fierce determination. He knew that Voldemort's presence meant imminent danger, but he would not let his family fall victim to the Dark Lord's wrath.

"No, James, I'm not leaving you!" Lily protested, her face a mask of terror as she clutched Harry tightly to her chest.

James's eyes locked with Lily's, filled with a profound mix of love and anguish. "Please, Lily," he begged softly, his voice breaking with emotion. "Take them and run. Keep them safe."

Before Lily could respond, Voldemort's cold, high-pitched voice sliced through the night air like a razor. "Avada Kedavra!"

In a desperate bid to protect his family, James threw himself in front of Lily and their children. The green Killing Curse collided with a protective runic circle that Lily had painstakingly inscribed throughout their home. This runic circle, a product of her months of intense study into obscure magics, was designed to ward off dark forces. The curse rebounded with a cataclysmic force, obliterating Voldemort's physical form in a spectacular burst of destructive energy.

However, the protective magic exacted a monumental toll. The intense magical energy drained not only from Voldemort but also from James and Lily. The aftermath left them gravely weakened, their life forces severely depleted. James and Lily collapsed, their bodies succumbing to the strain of their own protective enchantments. Baby Harry, though shielded by their sacrifice, suffered from the magical backlash, his core weakened and diminished.

As Lily fell unconscious, her wedding ring scraped against Rose's forehead, leaving behind a lightning-shaped mark—a mark that would come to symbolize a destiny she was not yet aware of.

In the chaotic aftermath, Dumbledore arrived at Godric's Hollow, his heart heavy with grief and urgency. He surveyed the scene of devastation: a home in ruins, Lily and James Potter gravely injured, and the lingering darkness of Voldemort's presence. Amidst the wreckage, his eyes fell upon the two infants crying in their crib. The room, dimly lit and filled with the remnants of protective spells, bore witness to the final moments of a fateful battle.

Dumbledore approached the crib, his gaze falling on the lightning-shaped scar on Rose's forehead. His mind, clouded by the grief of the tragedy and the urgency of the situation, quickly leaped to the conclusion that Rose, marked by this scar, was the prophesied child destined to defeat Voldemort. Driven by the prophecy he had long been aware of, Dumbledore believed Rose to be the Vanquisher, the key to vanquishing the Dark Lord.

In contrast, as Dumbledore's gaze shifted to Harry, he sensed something amiss in the boy's magical aura. In his sorrow and haste, he misinterpreted Harry's diminished magical potential as an indication of being a squib—a wizard lacking magical abilities. This incorrect assessment led Dumbledore to believe that Harry might not meet the magical expectations set by the wizarding world.

In the midst of his grief-stricken state, Dumbledore made a fateful decision with far-reaching consequences for both children.

Believing Rose to be the chosen one, Dumbledore decided to raise her himself. He took her under his wing, seeing her as the linchpin in the fight against Voldemort. His decision was driven by a sense of responsibility to nurture and prepare her for the challenges ahead, influenced by his interpretation of the prophecy and his personal desire to ensure she would be well-equipped to face her destiny.

Conversely, Dumbledore, deeming Harry's magical potential as negligible, made the difficult decision to leave him with the Dursleys. He believed Harry would be better off growing up away from the spotlight, shielded from the dangers associated with being the prophesied child. This decision, though seemingly harsh, was made with the intention of providing Harry with a normal upbringing, away from the pressures of fame and expectation.

Lily and James Potter, celebrated heroes of the wizarding world, were kept alive through magical means but remained in a deep coma at St. Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries. Their condition was critical, with healers and magical experts working tirelessly to find a way to awaken them.

As the years unfolded, Harry and Rose grew up in starkly contrasting environments. Harry, raised by the Dursleys, endured a childhood marked by emotional neglect and abuse. His magical abilities were suppressed and ridiculed, his true heritage concealed from him. The Dursleys' harsh treatment and disdain for magic created a confusing and fearful existence for Harry, obscured by the mystery of his parents' legacy.

Meanwhile, Rose's early years were marked by privilege and indulgence under Dumbledore's care. From a young age, she was showered with attention and gifts, her magical prowess nurtured but her emotional development stunted. Dumbledore's focus on her magical abilities led to a sense of entitlement and superiority in Rose. By the age of five, she had developed a reputation for being demanding and self-centered, her interactions colored by arrogance and disdain for those she perceived as inferior.

And so, the stage was set for two divergent paths—one marked by hardship and hidden potential, the other by privilege and misplaced expectations. The saga of Harry and Rose Potter was just beginning, each on a journey that would shape their destinies in ways neither could yet imagine.
