Capítulo 2: Chapter 2: Compatible Wand

Walking on the streets of Diagon Alley, Lynn took out the list again.

"First, I have to go to Gringotts to get the money, and then go to Ollivander's Wand Shop," Lynn thought as he took out a rusty metal key from his pocket.

There are many shops in Diagon Alley, and the one that attracts him the most is Ollivander's Wand Shop, which sells wands that can help him control magic and cast spells.

Soon, Lynn saw a snowy-white building with a bronze door, on which three large words "Gringotts" could be seen.

On both sides of the bronze door, there stood goblins in scarlet and gold uniforms. After seeing Lynn, these goblins recognized him as a young wizard from a pure-blood family, and they flattered him.

In the eyes of these greedy goblins, gold Galleons are everything, and pure-blood families with a lot of wealth will naturally be treated as honored guests by them.

Lynn straightened his collar and crossed the door of Gringotts. When he was about to cross the second silver door, a line of words engraved on the door appeared in front of him.

"Enter, stranger, but take heed

Of what awaits the sin of greed,

For those who take, but do not earn,

Must pay most dearly in their turn.

So if you seek beneath our floors

A treasure that was never yours,

Thief, you have been warned, beware

Of finding more than treasure there."

Seeing this verse, Lynn just laughed it off.

"Greed" is the most appropriate word to describe goblins. In Lynn's opinion, this verse may be more reasonable to use to warn goblins.

Besides, the only thing that can protect wealth is power. Only when you have enough power can you protect what you want to protect. Otherwise, you can only despair at everything that has been plundered.

After entering Gringotts, Lynn handed over the metal key, and then took a cart led by a goblin and drove along the railway towards the underground vaults.

The cart was whistling, and the sharp cold wind blew across Lynn's face. The next second, another waterfall poured heavily on him, soaking him like a drowned rat.

The waterfall that poured on Lynn was called the "Thief's Downfall," which has the function of washing away all spells and removing magical disguises.

Of course, disguise methods such as human skin masks that are not processed by any magic will not be discovered by the Thief's Downfall.

The goblin who controlled the cart quickly snapped his fingers before Lynn and Gale beside him were affected, and used a spell to dry the water on Lynn's body.

Not long after, a huge fire-breathing dragon appeared in their sight.

The dragon sensed their arrival and tried to breathe fire to attack them, but the goblin who was controlling the cart quickly took out a small metal tool from his arms and shook it in the air.

A loud and crisp "clanging" sound rang out, and the dragon seemed to sense something particularly terrifying, let out a hoarse roar, and then retreated again and again.

"Dear guest, this beast will have a conditioned reflex to this thing called the "Clankers." When it hears this sound, it will think of pain and retreat, and dare not attack us."

The goblin explained to Lynn.

Lynn nodded slightly, indicating that he understood.

Soon, they arrived at the vault controlled by the Rowle family. The goblin pressed his palm on the door of the vault, and the door of the vault vanished.

At this time, the golden light seemed to blind Lynn's eyes.

Although Lynn had some guesses about the wealth of the Rowle family, after seeing the piles of gold Galleons and the rare treasures everywhere, Lynn admitted that he was shocked.

Lynn took out a bag with an Undetectable Extension Charm cast on it and put thousands of gold Galleons into it. Even so, the piles in the vault did not show any sign of decreasing.

It can be seen how huge these piles of gold Galleons were.

After taking the money, Lynn and Gale returned to the ground smoothly and left Gringotts.

After buying a cup of chocolate and crushed nut ice cream for himself and Gale when passing by Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlour, Lynn came to Ollivander's Wand Shop.

This is a small and shabby shop from the outside. The golden sign on the door has peeled off, and it reads: "Ollivanders: Makers of Fine Wands since 382 B.C."

In the shop window, there was a faded purple cushion, and on the cushion was a wand.

Lynn walked into Ollivander's Wand Shop, and what caught his eye were thousands of narrow boxes that almost reached the ceiling.

"Hello, are you Mr. Ollivander, the wand maker?" Lynn asked an old man with pale eyes who appeared in front of them.

Mr. Ollivander smiled and replied, "Oh, yes! Good afternoon, young wizard."

Lynn nodded and said, "Hello, Mr. Ollivander, my name is Lynn Rowle, and I'm here to buy a magic wand."

Hearing Lynn's words, Mr. Ollivander was not surprised at all. He took out a long tape measure with silver markings from his pocket and began to measure Lynn. "Oh, of course! The young wizards who come to me are all here to get a wand that suits them best. Okay, Mr. Rowle, come and let me see! Which is your wand arm?"

Mr. Ollivander said as he measured Lynn.

"Every Ollivander wand has a core of a powerful magical substance," Mr. Ollivander said with a bit of pride, "We use unicorn hairs, phoenix tail feathers, and dragon heartstrings. No two Ollivander wands are the same, just as no two unicorns, dragons, or phoenixes are quite the same. And of course, you will never get such good results with another wizard's wand. The wand chooses the wizard!"

Mr. Ollivander quickly measured Lynn's size, and then shuttled between the shelves, selecting long boxes containing wands one by one.

"Ah, yes, yes, you're quite right," Lynn said casually, his eyes focused on an unfinished wand deep in the wand shop. To be honest, he was very curious about the process of making wands.

Hearing Lynn's words, Mr. Ollivander's eyes lit up. He grabbed a long box he had just selected and quickly came to Lynn, and grabbed Lynn's hands with his other hand.

"You are so right! Mr. Rowle, I didn't expect that you have such a profound understanding of wands at such a young age!"

Mr. Ollivander said very happily, and it was obvious that he was very satisfied that his views were recognized.

Seeing Mr. Ollivander's big reaction, Lynn touched his nose in embarrassment. In all honesty, he was just making casual conversation...

"Try this one, made of vine wood with a phoenix feather core, eleven inches long. It's quite flexible, give it a wave."

Mr. Ollivander handed a wand to Lynn.

Lynn held the wand and waved it vigorously.

A beam of light shot out from the wand, hitting a shelf not far away, and then exploded!

The violent blast of air swept over, overturning several shelves around, and the shelf that was hit even exploded with splinters flying everywhere.

Seeing this scene, Lynn's eyelids jumped. Wow, this power is comparable to a Blasting Curse performed by an adult wizard, right?!

"Oh no! It's definitely not this one!"

Mr. Ollivander snatched the wand. He didn't seem to care about the broken shelf. Instead, he frowned and took out a black wand from another long box.

"Try it, ebony and unicorn hair, eight and a quarter inches!" Mr. Ollivander said.

Lynn just held the wand, and a ball of magic suddenly exploded from his palm, sending the wand flying several meters away.

Mr. Ollivander hurriedly picked up the wand distressedly and put it back into the long box: "It's not this one either! Darn it!"

Mr. Ollivander seemed to be less confident in his judgment. He went back to the shelves to pick and choose, and finally took out a long box wrapped in red silk.

"Try this, mahogany and dragon heart string core, thirteen and a quarter inches long. The core is rather powerful, you'll need to be careful."

Mr. Ollivander carefully handed a wand that looked more slender to Lynn.

Lynn held the wand and felt a warm sensation. He instinctively waved the wand in his hand.

Swish!

Instantly, endless flames erupted from the ground. The red flames tinged with gold instantly enveloped the entire Ollivander's Wand Shop. The flames were reflected in Mr. Ollivander's startled but excited pale eyes.

The raging fire seemed to burn the sky and boil the sea, surrounding Lynn, Gale, and Mr. Ollivander. But surprisingly, this seemingly terrifying flame did not cause any damage to them. At most, their skin felt a little warm.

"Yes! That's the one!"

Mr. Ollivander shouted excitedly.

Just then, the flames in the air dissipated, and strange rune-like markings quietly appeared on the wand.

The sharp-eyed Mr. Ollivander noticed this. He grabbed Lynn's wand hand, looked at the wand, and said in surprise: "Wait, I seem to have been mistaken! This is not an ordinary mahogany wand but one made from the wood of a magical tree that is a graft of mahogany and pine! Moreover, the pine wood grafted onto the mahogany is not the common pine but a type infused with powerful magic from the Eastern wizarding world!"

"Pine wood has a very strong affinity for fire magic. It's no wonder that this wand will release such powerful flames when it recognizes you as its master! Mahogany grafted with pine wood, plus the dragon heartstring core, Mr. Rowle, I believe you will definitely achieve great things in casting fiery spells!"

Mr. Ollivander said happily.

Dragon heartstring cores typically produce wands with a potent magical ability that are quick to learn difficult spells, especially those involving fire.

Add to that the legendary affinity of pine wood for flames, which can already determine that Lynn's talent in fire magic will be exceptional. Otherwise, he would not have been accepted by this rare wand wood from the East!
