Capítulo 55: Chapter 55

Taking the first book that came across, Severus quickly browsed through it and put it back after a few seconds, and then, glancing over the nearby shelves, nodded frowningly.

"Eh ... the first impression is always deceptive …"

"Severus ... do not leave me hanging …" Nagini said tragically, putting her tail to her forehead, but she turned out to be a bad actress, so instead of applause and ovations, she earned a flick.

"Stop fooling around," going a little deeper, he again nodded to his thoughts. " Although there are quite interesting copies here, but sixty percent, judging by the first ten shelves , these are only copies of existing ones, but even so there are too many books ... although I wanted to postpone the creation of this thing until later, but, apparently, I will have to work on it this weekend."

"What is this thing?" Nagini asked.

"A Grimoire."

"What is a Grimoire?"

Severus looked at her with sincere astonishment, and then, remembering the curse, smiled wryly and shook his head.

"A grimoire is a book in which wizards store all their spells and knowledge, they distinguish it into two categories: 'ordinary' and 'magic,' " heading towards the exit, he examined the room itself with interest.

"I don't see any 'magic' ones and I don't know if I will be able to create one. But the 'Ordinary' ones are not a big problem, they only have one property and that is to store knowledge in itself."

"What about 'magical'? What properties does it have?" Nagini asked curiously.

"You can save magic formulas in it and use it like a wand, but, most interestingly, with it, spells become twice as strong and do not require any pronunciation of the formulas. You can use it mentally as well."

"Understood, so you are going to create a 'magic' one in the future?"

The young man could not contain his emotion at the naivete of his companion.

"It's impossible: the materials required for it have long since disappeared from this world — at the moment I can only create a 'regular' one, and even then I'll have to fork out a lot: it will take not thousands, but tens of thousands of Galleons and the materials themselves will be hard to come by, though we've got the material used for cover. But the Grimoire is not such a bright thing, because in order for it to work, I need a small piece of my soul, and I still don't want to tear mine…"

Leaving the room, Snape began to watch the gate disappear with interest, and then again thought about books and walked past the empty wall three times again and the door reappeared.

The inside of the room itself has not changed, except that the shelves have become three floors higher, and the size of the room has tripled.

But Severus didn't stop at this experiment, so, leaving the room again, he repeated the same manoeuvres, but this time thinking about the artefacts, and as soon as he opened the door, he was greeted by a completely different picture.

It was a colossal room with mounds of various rubbish, among which, in addition to garbage, one could see artefacts, various kitchen utensils, furniture, toys, clothes, and even silver and gold trinkets.

It was more like some kind of trash can, in which they collected all the rubbish that had accumulated since the founding of the school.

But still, after a cursory examination, Severus noticed some rather interesting artefacts, and besides that, some of the furniture was as good as new, as if they were up for sale at least now.

But after thinking a little The archmage still gave up on the idea of taking everything out of this room… for right now, he will leave this room till the end of Hogwarts.

After all, he had no doubt that after rummaging around here, he could find a lot of interesting things, but he decided to leave this for Monday, because tomorrow he would already be returning back to Diagon Alley, and, in addition to looking for some things that would be needed for the Grimoire, he would also need to pick up a suit for Sunday.

"Okay, it's already quite late, tomorrow morning we still have to return to Diagon Alley," yawning tiredly, Severus headed towards the exit, already dispelling the spell that enhances perception, but at the last moment he abruptly froze upon hearing a strange hissing, and stared with slight surprise at one of the piles in all that rubbish.

"Interesting… it seems to be calling me…Nagini, do you feel it?"

"What exactly?" Nagini asked tilting her head slightly.

"It's like someone is calling you…" Turning around, he went forward, slightly weakening the protection of his mind in order to better feel the source of the voice, because the closer he approached it, the clearer it became… And in a minute, passing by the gilded statue, pointing in the opposite direction to where Severus was going, he finally stopped.

"I hear some hissing ... and the words are 'come ... Come to me '... " Nagini whispered with surprise, while in the depths of her soul she felt rising anxiety, and, looking towards the table, on which, in addition to a strange object resembling a globe , lay a box, on top of which there was a dirty rope.

"I think so too." Approaching it, Severus removed the rope and began to examine the box with interest.

"Maybe we shouldn't open it…? Somehow I feel uncomfortable…" Nagini shuffled in her place.

"Scared?" he winked at her with a smile, and then poked her on the forehead, and the strange muttering disappeared at the same moment.

"Better?" He asked and in response, she nodded in relief.

And, once again lowering his gaze to the box, Severus already roughly imagined what might be there, and finally opening it, he saw something that made him quite surprised.

It was a simple-looking diadem, made of silver and adorned with diamonds, but what surprised the Archmage was its similarity to the once lost diadem of Rowena Ravenclaw, the founder of the Ravenclaw House.

Taking it and twisting it a little in his hand, he smiled wryly and, sighing sadly, shook his head. "Judging by the destroyed rune plexus, this artefact was once a very good thing, but, having fallen into someone's crooked hands, it completely lost its power.

"It's really rare for you to be surprised by something, is this thing really that good?" Nagini asked him with interest, puzzled by Severus's reaction.

"Apart from the fact that this artefact is a thousand years old and once belonged to one of the founders of Hogwarts, it had a very rare property - it influences the wizard's mind. Of course, the diadem will not make him a genius, but it will remove all restrictions, helping to absorb any material much faster and at the same time keep a cold mind in any situation, keeping emotions under complete control - such was the description in a book authored by Rowena herself, and after a cursory examination, I can tell for sure that she did not lie."

'And even in my world, there were very few such things… nevertheless, she rightfully deserved to be known as the smartest woman of her generation, possessing such an artefact, but it's a pity that such a little thing can no longer be restored, but it still has its advantages.' Severus thought in his heart.

"Severus! Why are you doing it?! Is it still possible to restore it?"

"That's impossible: he ruined this thing too much…"

"Aaaaaah! Stop it!" The shadow squealed furiously, bursting out of the diadem and trying to break through the defences of Snape's mind, but before it was half out, the clock flung open and began to draw the shadow into itself with unthinkable force. "Nooooo…!

All this action was accompanied by an orange and silver glow, as well as an unpleasant squeal, until finally, after a few seconds, the light faded, and silence came again… and the archmage put the watch back in his wallet.

"The Dark Lord…?" Nagini asked, bewildered by what she saw.

"I didn't tell you. That imbecile tore his soul apart, hoping in this way, as I understood it, to become immortal. In general, it's not worth mentioning: he's just a laughing stock. In addition to the fact that he lost his mind, he will no longer be able to develop in a magical way ... but he still received imaginary immortality for a couple of thousand years, and then the soul will slowly begin to dissipate, and he will finally die …" Opening his fist, Severus blew off the ashes, remaining in the palm of your hand, and headed for the exit. "Peter?"

"Sir, there is no one outside, the Headmaster is in his office." A voice sounded from the map.

"Got it, as always, thanks." Severus replied.

"That is, even if he dies, using any piece of his soul, he can be reborn…?" Nagini hissed in disbelief.

"Hmm… this requires certain conditions: you can use the ritual of rebirth, apply the same philosopher's stone that I recently told you about – its properties are just right – well, or the simplest method is to try to capture someone's body, which is what this soul intended to do, and if I had a weak mental defence, it would no longer be me, but the real Dark Lord standing in front of you. The ones I told you about are the most famous methods - in fact, there are many more of them …" Severus shook his head as he said this.

"It's still scary. The fact that there is such a person who can be reborn after dying is a horrifying fact in itself."

Sensing a touch of panic from his companion, the Archmage couldn't help a wry smile. "You know, I have already told you many times that if I want this, I can easily kill him at least ten times, so there is nothing to be afraid of and you should already believe in me," the wizard drawled with displeasure, poking her in the forehead.

"I'm not afraid of him ... I'm afraid that you …"

"That I will suffer or something like that?" Nagini nodded sadly in response.

With a tired sigh, he left the room and, after a few seconds, the door disappeared, leaving only a bare wall in the same place. "You think too much, but so be it, if I don't face him in the future, then I won't get into a pointless fight, okay?"

"Promise...?"

"Nagini, you are like a child."

"Promise?" He was going to say something but when he saw her serious muzzle right in front of his face, he almost stumbled out of the blue. "Well, I promise …" 'unless, of course, he himself decides to visit me, which he will do for sure when he finds my potion recipe in the hand of the ministry.' but he decided to keep his thoughts to himself, it is not necessary for Nagini to know this.
