Capítulo 13: chapter 14
After the party we went to James's apartment I directly went took a shower after I lay on the bed waiting for him since we got here James is been on the phone I tried to wait for him but I was tired and I fall sleep
In the morning I woke up early went home
" good morning my child " my grand mother greets me I smile for her am very thankful for them being here but am not used to them yet we took a tax to visit mom at the hospital it was Sunday so no work no school we hanged around mom the whole day until it was time for her nap tomorrow is the surgery day and it happening first thing in the morning
" are you scared " I asked Palma she is spending the night here since they will be in the operation room early
" no am not the one with cancer the doctor told me it will hurt but it's not for a long time am just worried about mom" she told me I lay down on her small bed wrap her in my arms
" everything will be alright okay " i really hope am not wrong we sleep early that night since tomorrow it's a big day and I wanted to be here for Palma
In the morning I woke up early again Emily and Alice were already here by the time they took mom to the operation room we seats in the waiting room waiting for them to come back" your mom wanted me to give you this " a nurse gave me a letter I look at her confused but I took it put it inside my pocket i really don't want to think about anything bad right now
I lay on a chair and dose off I woke up feeling some one brushing my hair with their fingers when I opened my eyes I see James kneeling in front of me
" hey babe" he greets me pecks my lips
" I sit up looked around " any news " I asked around Emily shakes her head I just sigh James take a sit next to me pulling me against his chest I let him hold me tight " how are you doing "
" my mom and my sister are in the surgery room and I can't be any help apart from sleeping here in a chair how do you think am doing " I snapped at him to which he answered nothing I sigh standing up going to a window looking outside I pass around and pass I turn around James stand up going to the elevator I walk fast towards him
"Are you leaving " I asked him I know I just snapped at him a minute ago but he can't just leave " am sorry it's just....." he just pulled me for a hug i wrap my arms around his neck and cry " am not going anywhere am here with you okay " he muttered to me as if talking to a child I just nod my head feeling grateful for him
After 8 hours and 30 minutes the doctors came out
" how is my mom is Palma okay how did it go what happened " i popped the doctor with questions
" the surgery was successful your mom will be in her room in a few minutes but there will be no visitors allowed tonight and your sister is sleeping i recommend her to sleep tonight also I will check her in the morning before visiting her " he told us after hearing that the surgery was successful I heard nothing after
" it means that we will see them both tomorrow " my grandma asked the doctor
" yes they need to rest right now " he answered and he left
After talking to the doctor we went home I didn't go with James because I wanted to be there with my grandparents we took a tax as soon as we got home we hit the bed in the morning we rushed to the hospital since mom hasn't woken up we went to see Palma who has already woken up
"Hey how are you doing " i rushed to her side holding her hand
" am fine still alive to stress you " she looked good my grandma hugged her " thank God you are fine "
" of course she got my genes " grandpa said messing with her hair
Bone marrow transplant is not that hard the doctor told us before that Palma will be fine but having my only sister and my mother in the surgery room was not that simple that's why I was worried and the pregnancy hormones are messing with me
" hello Palma how are you doing this morning " the doctor asked her who came followed by a nurse
" am fine weak and hungry though "
" they can find you some thing to eat I will write you some medicine you can take them if you feel dizzy take it easy for a few days" he said written down on a paper he had in his hands
" so everything is okay with her now " grandpa asked the doctor to confirm
" yeah no complications with her but if she feels any changes please rush to the hospital don't try to fight it " the doctor went out and we followed him to give space Palma to get ready
" doctor how is my mom" i asked him as soon as we got out the room
" still not awake but she is doing great just where we wanted her to be she will wake up on her own we can do some checking on her after"
" so the cancer is gone "
" we will know once we do the check up on her then we will know what to do after " then he left us
I went to look at the receptionist to talk about the payment I pulled out all my savings with a my mom's savings payed for half even though it was enough my grandparents did help with the remaining and we were able to pay for one half remaining another half which I was supposed to pay monthly but I was surprised to find all the amount paid in full
" can I know the name of the person who paid it please " I asked the receptionist who looked annoyed at my question
" Mr James Diwans " she replied and just like that I stand there dumbfounded " you must be good in bed for him to stick around you because I can see that you are not that beautiful " she adds
" maybe it's because am not a bitch have you considered that" I mocked her I can see that she is just jealous I don't blame her though if I was in her place I would be jealous too
