Hearing the noisy class, Ryan is satisfied. Finally, they were getting some clues. Just as he suspected, Elaine was a phoney, spreading false rumours about. 

And now, her intentions were clear as day to him. She was just after the seat!

'Take this as payback for spreading false rumours all about the school!'

Yes, Ryan couldn't care less about rumours, and usually, he would tolerate Elaine, and let her do whatever but Elaine was going too far, claiming that they were dating. Originally, he didn't care, as that reduced the number of daily confessions he was getting. 

But now, for some reason, he was starting to care about appearing single. No, he was not dating Elaine. He was available to be adored by the unearthly beauty.

And he was also unwilling to give up her seat to solidify Elaine's rumours.

'I'm sorry, Elaine, but I don't want to give up this seat as yet.', he smirks, pleased with himself.
