Lucas' countenance remained calm while facing his mother Linda, as calm as the distant sea. She was obviously displeased to see him right now.

But, he wouldn't be discouraged by her treatment. No matter what, he needed to achieve his goal today.

Of letting his mother know about what her husband had been doing behind his back.

Lucas also anticipated his mother Linda accusing him of trying to ruin their family. He was already prepared for that. 

Speaking in a flat tone, Lucas said to Linda, "Mother, you can be mad at me. But, I'm here with Kevin to tell you something."

Instead of beating around the bush, Lucas immediately voiced his reason for being here.

Linda scowled. Turning her head to the right, she threw daggers at her beloved youngest son, "Why did you collude with your brother? Don't you think he'll speak nonsense to me?"
