Cynthia lowered her eyes, pursed her lips, and clenched her hands on her knees into fists. After a moment of contemplation, she took a deep breath and a hint of a smile appeared on her lips. "Understood, Grandfather."

"Do you want to open the box and see what's inside?" Old Mr. Quinn sipped his tea and looked at Cynthia.

"It's just a jade pendant..." Cynthia blurted out without any hesitation. After speaking, she bit her tongue secretly. This was bad; she wouldn't be able to hide her relationship with Tristan now!

However, Old Mr. Quinn didn't inquire further. A mysterious glint flashed in his eyes, and he played with the prayer beads at his fingertips, saying ambiguously, "Aren't you curious about the origin of the engagement?"

Cynthia was indeed curious about this sudden engagement. She raised her eyes to investigate, looking at Old Mr. Quinn with sincerity. "Why have I never heard about it before?"
