"C-Can you explain to me how Hell works?" Tenshi questioned Ward in the hopes of learning something he needed to get away.
Ward looked at Liya as he folded his hands. "Everything here is give and take," he remarked, then turning to Tenshi. "So I'm looking for protection."
Given that Liya is a Leviathan, Tenshi recognized Ward's justification and deduced that he needed protection from her.
"Okay…" Tenshi responded, thinking it would be best to learn as much as he could about Liya. "First, tell me about Leviathan."
"I'm not very knowledgeable... since I've only heard stories and seen photographs of those creatures made by... god. Leviathan are enormous beasts that can consume everything... including death. They reside outside of Hell in Purgatory. So seeing one near Limbo, the first circle, is unusual. Their eggs are pricey and extremely rare, and by devouring them, even a low-level demon may attain the ultimate level... Can you tell me whether you still have them?" Ward enquired, hoping Tenshi might have at least one egg.
Tenshi grinned bitterly and remarked, "I ate them... but I never attained that much power other than a minor boost."
When Ward heard the news, his heart stopped. His eyes rolled back, and he lost consciousness.
Liya gave him an accusing look, but Tenshi didn't know what he had done—all he knew was that he had missed a jackpot, which was all he could really think about.
After a few minutes of wanking Ward with the spear, he had woken up saying, "I just had a nightmare about someone stating they just ate Leviathan eggs."
"But you said consumed… so I did the same thing," Tenshi muttered, seeming uncomfortable as Ward turned to face him.
"YOU MORON!!!! You could have become a literal walking mountain destroyer!!! …. You can't just eat them normally… You would need to wait at the moment they hatch, do a special ritual…" Ward then went into full ranting mode, cursing Tenshi with terms he didn't know.
Tenshi was well aware of his grave error, yet, it was not his fault that he was hungry at the time and was not aware of this knowledge. Moreover, he wasn't thinking clearly at the time.
After his erratic babbling and profanity, Ward did settle down.
"Hell has nine tiers or circles: Limbo, Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Wrath, Heresy, Violence, Malebolge, and ultimately Cocytus, which guards a strange tomb.
Don't criticize me since I barely know a little about the first three.
Limbo is the first and highest circle of Hell. Which is nothing but desolation, volcanoes, and gigantic mountains whose peaks extend all the way to Heaven. Fortunately, no one seems to have touched this region.
There is a massive fortress encircled by seven gates that prevents them from reaching the lower circles.
I've heard that the punishment in Limbo is being stung by bees and having your feet devoured by worms on a regular basis. While staring at heaven, which was just above the massive mountains.
Lust, the second circle of Hell, can be regarded as the first "real" circle, as it is nothing more than a desolate wasteland filled with numerous sharp rocks and tornadoes.
As I previously said, punishment is gender change and being bounced like a ball at those pointed rocks with the occasional bath in the river.
Gluttony, the third circle of Hell, is a muddy region where cold hard rain continually falls; in addition to rain, big hail stones, ice pellets, and snow constantly shower the sinners.
Every circle was ruled by a Devil, and there are seven sins, powerful monsters ruled by a single Devil named Asmodeus.
And that's all I know about the rings of hell," Wald concluded.
Tenshi took a moment to sit quietly and consider all he had just learned.
"So what about other… stuff?" Tenshi spoke while attempting to get any new details.
"Give me a moment, my mouth is dry," Ward said while scratching his neck.
As far as Tenshi could see, Ward shouldn't be having difficulty because he ought to be going through worse. Tenshi acknowledged Ward's assistance still and said, "There is a lake behind you. Drink."
Ward was perplexed, and when he turned back, he was astonished again.
"You keep surprising me every damn time... Are you a Luck's son or something?" Ward exclaimed as he leaped into the water.
"Water is scarce... Only the most powerful demons get access, and they don't even drink. The rivers and lakes are all filled with boiled blood. You won't find a lake like this anywhere else... except perhaps in the lowest layer... I'm not sure." Ward spoke up before Tenshi could inquire why.
Ward was shocked once more after taking a taste.
Ward exclaimed, "This is made by magic… an artificial lake."
Tenshi was not surprised by the news because he had already deduced from Ward's earlier explanation that the mother Leviathan created this lake on her own, perhaps for the benefit of her offspring.
What surprised him was the first portion of Ward's statement. 'made by magic.'
"How were you able to guess it was made by magic?" Tenshi enquired.
Ward looked at Tenshi while drinking and remarked, "Because I am a magician... Back in the 1800s, I was a member of an organization called the Golden Dawn. Can you tell me what year it is?"
Tenshi responded, "I'm not sure how much time has gone since I arrived here; I suppose I arrived in the twenty-first century in 2008... I'm not sure how much time has gone."
Ward emerged from the water, his tummy full, and stated, "I wouldn't worry about time... The time here differs from that of the outer world... I know it runs a thousand times slower, but you, my buddy, ruined the entire system with your arrival... So I don't know how much it has altered, but I suppose Hell time is altering... almost adapting to something."
Tenshi is at a loss for words; he assumed that by the time he escaped, it would be hundreds of years... That is if he can leave without becoming a damned like Ward.
"Would you be willing to teach me magic?"
…
"Magic... A simple word with the ability to shape reality.
There are several types of magic, such as Devil Magic used by Devils, Light Magic used by Angels and Fallen, Norse and Celtic Magic used by Valkyries, Asgardians and their group, and lastly Human Magic or Modern Magic utilized mostly by humans... Of course, there are many more magical others, but these are the only ones I know.
Some books from ancient beings claim that magic does not emanate from 'Earth' but rather from different realms, such as Devil Magic from Hell and Light Magic from Faith and Heaven.
Long ago, rifts occurred in all worlds, infusing the environment with magical particles, allowing the earliest creatures to harness and name this energy magic.
According to old books or stories, humans who lived in the past could bend elements as readily as the Devil does.
Because humans are barely attuned to magic in comparison to other races, modern magic is humanity's attempt to bend the immaterial components to their will. This is inaccessible to the average person. Only a few gifted people can wield this energy.
Human Magic was created in the Middle Ages alongside another method known as Formula Magic.
Because humans couldn't hold much magic in their bodies at the time, many crafted weapons and artifacts like wands, staffs, and even crystals, like batteries… if I am saying it right.
After being here for god knows how long, I discovered that there is no such thing as 'Devil Magic.'
The Devils did not utilize magic or magic circles in the beginning; they only used their imagination and demonic power to perform spells... think how much destruction they would have inflicted in the current world if they had not copied Formula magic from the human system.
The Angles did the same thing; they too used Holy Power, but now they've added a formula system to their power, allowing them to create Light Magic.
According to legend, Merlin was inspired by the Devil's use of their power and built the entire Magic system for himself, which humanity eventually modified based on mathematics.
I realize it's confusing, but there was a lot of inconsistencies, and I'm very sure I'm terrible at teaching," Ward explained.
Tenshi may now wield magic without having to create his own formula. He, like the old demons, can bend elements with his imagination. All he requires is mastery over the demonic power/mana in his body.
"Can devils use their magic to mold elements into any shape they want?" Tenshi questioned, finding Devil Magic overpowered.
"No… When they introduced formula magic in their system, it resulted in several restrictions. For example, Devils must now attune to particular elements, which makes it simpler for them to use those components while making it more difficult for Devils to use other elements to which they are not attuned." Ward said.
"So how do we control this… energy in our body?" Tenshi eventually asked the question he had been waiting for.
