Lu Nanfeng was aware of the relationship between his Lixue and the Organization, and thus he knew without a doubt that the ones who were behind her kidnapping this time were them.
But he was puzzled as to why they would kidnap her. Even he himself had a hard time believing that she was reborn, so how could they possibly believe it without having had any contact with her?
He was mulling over the different possibilities when his eyes landed on the computer in front of him. He Lixue used to be a hacker working for the Organization. She had not been hacking much after her rebirth, but she had created a security system for the Fenghuang Group's main office.
This security system was likely to incorporate some codes that she had prepared before, and as such, it was clear that they could trace it back to her.
Even if she was not the same person, they were very similar in style, and she could be used by the Organization.
Even Lu Nanfeng could guess their thoughts, but he was worried about his He Lixue. If they did not know that it was her, then things would be okay, but if they knew, then she would end up being treated as a traitor, as she had not come back when she could.
Although there was a fleeting sense of panic in Lu Nanfeng's heart, he knew that he could not afford to let his emotions get the better of him.
He knew that He Lixue would not return to the Organization unless absolutely necessary. He knew that she cherished her current life alongside him, and thus he was going to help her protect the life that she so eagerly wished for.
Now that she was caught by the Organization, Lu Nanfeng saw them as his enemies. Although he knew of her past, and that they had saved her life before, and given her a home, it did not mean that they could decide the rest of her future.
She had already given them a life. She had died once for the Organization's sake; now, it was time for her to live for herself.
Lu Nanfeng was aware that he could not butt heads against the Organization on his own, but he also knew that while the Organization was powerful, there were other groups with the same strength, who were eyeing the trade routes and deals that the Organization had gotten.
It was also one of these groups who had contacted Lu Nanfeng previously, in an attempt at starting a cooperation between them, but at that time, Lu Nanfeng had shot them down, not at all interested in working alongside them.
The young master of that group had grown up alongside Lu Nanfeng, and they were friends, so while he had declined, they had never pursued him or caused problems for him out of revenge.
But things were different now. Lu Nanfeng had personally contacted Wen Sihan, the young master of the group, and told him that as long as he could get this woman back, they would work together in the future.
From this, it was clear how important He Lixue was to Lu Nanfeng. Even Wen Sihan was quite shocked when he received the phone call.
To think that Lu Nanfeng had fallen so fast and so deeply, this He Lixue could not be an average person.
But he reveled in the fact that the Fenghuang Group would work with his group in the future, and it would give them another layer of protection.
So, Wen Sihan instantly employed his most proficient trackers and began searching high and low in the entire region for any traces of the Organization, and He Lixue.
While a few days passed without news, Lu Nanfeng was not too worried about He Lixue's safety. He knew that they would not kill her, as she was worth much more alive than dead, but he was worried whether or not they were treating her well. Was she eating enough? Was she used to sleeping on her own?
During these days, Lu Nanfeng was getting very little sleep. His heart was aching, and his eyes had dark circles underneath.
He wanted to see his Lixue again as soon as possible, but at the same time, he had to keep in control of everything.
While Lu Nanfeng was searching high and low for He Lixue, she had been confined to the underground bedroom. She had not been allowed to leave even once, food and clothes had been delivered to her by a maid a few times a day, but other than that, no one was allowed entry.
Mister Jiang came by a few times, and seeing that she had admitted to her identity, he was relieved. He never stayed for long, and all he did was check up on her situation.
He Lixue was bored. She was confined within a room without any form for technology; she could not play games, nor could she talk to anyone. She was completely isolated from the outside world; she could not even see the sun or the moon.
Time became a blur to her, it was impossible to see whether it was day or night, and no way to know the time as there was no clock in the room.
Most of her day was spent sleeping or training. He Lixue had a frail body due to being in a coma for three years, but now she was starting to train her body, in an attempt at increasing her stamina for survivability and a chance of escape.
Although He Lixue was a prisoner, they had not put any cameras up in her room, as if they feared that she would turn them against them, and instead, they just had people guarding her outside the room.
As long as she could not escape, it did not matter what she spent her time doing.
