"Li Chen, Mengxue just got off work not long ago; she must be starving. Why don't you start cooking? We'll watch some TV." Lin Qian said cheerfully.

"Oh!" Li Chen nodded helplessly.

Neither of these women could cook, which really left no one but him to do it.

Grabbing the groceries he bought, he headed for the kitchen.

Passing by the dining table, he saw the cake placed on it and figured it must have been brought by his sister-in-law when she came over.

They were besties, so a birthday cake was definitely expected.

Once in the kitchen, he first washed his hands and then took out all the ingredients, getting busy with the preparations.

Today was Lin Qian's birthday, and simply stir-frying a few dishes wouldn't cut it. Luckily, he had bought quite a lot of stuff: chicken, fish, and various vegetables.

Usually, when he was at Han Yue's place, he only cooked occasionally, but back in the village, he used to cook quite often.
