Having received Ethan's order, John backed away and disappeared.

Ethan's eyes brushed over the Consort's face and landed on the hand that was holding onto his sleeve. He couldn't help but compare it to the other woman's desperate, persistent hand that had clung onto his sleeve like this. Even though it wasn't worth comparing, for some strange reason, the more he interacted with Consort Min, the more he felt like he saw Adelina.

"Ethan!"

When Ethan snatched his sleeve out of her grasp, Consort Min's eyes trembled. However, she did her best to find her composure and began to speak to him in a soothing voice.

"Are you upset because I wasn't able to convince His Majesty and stop your marriage? Is that why you're being so cruel to your mother?"

"What is it that you'd like to say to me?"

"I know that you were forced to get married. I was worried about you and decided to meet her myself, but it turned out that she isn't your average person."
