The boys soon realized something important as they spent the better part of the next day traveling through the Midlands - the further South they went, the higher the temperatures got.
Kai had already stripped off his top clothing to cool himself down, but the sun was now baking on his bare unprotected skin. Zero still had his clothes on and opted to suffer.
"I doubt they make sunscreen in this world," Kai whimpered. "Right? Think we could go back and ask Xyler?"
"Obviously not." Zero mumbled. He could feel the sweat pooling inside of his outfit. The tunic and cloak he wore were much more suited for mid to low temps. Not this sauna level heat.
