Capítulo 41: 41. Knights of the Round.
Light exploded out of Ryan and a glowing crown formed over his head, around him 13 beings of light appeared one after another and silently kneeled. They had no armor or weapons, they had no human features, they looked more like mannequins made of bright light.
"My king." 13 genderless voices call out at once. Their bodies solidified as they kneeled.
"What is a King, if he has no kingdom?" The same genderless voice reverberates in the air. "This shall be your kingdom."
Outside in the bed Ryan was laying in. The red materia shot into the frozen teens chest sinking into his skin, diving into his soul and taking hold. There was a pulse as it bonded with the newly crowned king. His life connecting with the kingdom, for as long as the king lives so too shall the kingdom. The red materia flashed, the soul of the new king and various items in his body were pulled into the red orb, the walls of the kingdom protect the King from his enemies, hide his secrets, gaurd his treasures, shelter his people.
After the bonding is done everything stops and information is pushed into the mind of the new king who stands in a daze. A dark podium rises in front of him with various empty slots. This is a place for materia to be put to enhance the kingdom. Fire materia would make a sun, Earth materia would create the ground, Wind materia would create wind, Water materia would give the world rain, lakes, ponds, oceans, Lightning would give birth to storms and so on.
However other things could be added to the plinth, including summons to act as guardians of the kingdom. However the summons would be bound to the kingdom and unable to leave.
There were of course limits on the kingdom as well, such as the knights being unable to overpower the king, so they power matched the king.
After the information dump was done Ryan came back to reality.
"Well that was weird." I mutter looking around the bedroom. The Knights of the Round was a different kind of materia, it didn't count as a guardian force it counted as something else and I've had it this entire time just never knew to use it.
Currently the kingdom is empty, the knights are naked, I have to provide everything.
"13 more beings to provide for." I mutter searching through my ring for items I can use.
There are quite a few useful things inside of the ring surprisingly that I missed with my initial looks.
There was actually equipment from Vayne Solidor. As the head of house Solidor he was the defacto leader of a group of people called Judges. They upheld law and order, they also took various important missions such as retrieving items, guarding important clients such as princes or princesses, kings and queens, above the judges were the Grand Magistrates, which were like super judges, elite judges basically. The top of the pecking order.
Since Vayne provided their gear as the head of house Solidor, I owned that gear and all the rest of the gear for an entire army. I had an entire sky fortress after all, and a fleet to go with it of air ships.
What I like most though was that all the equipment matched. I hate when things don't match, I had instantly thrown out the idea of giving them dragoon armor simply because I only had 6 sets and 13 knights.
Throwing my legs over the bed I groan at the stinging feeling in my body. "Cura!" I had forgotten I could use magic.
The aches and pains quickly vanish from my body and the scars heal completely. Standing up I realize I'm only in my boxers but shrug and head over to the closet and pull out Vincent's cloak, well my cloak.
"You able to split off? I need cloaks for knights." the judge armor came with cloaks but still I wanted this as a cloak as it kept clean.
There was a strange feeling as the cloth dug into my skin like the dragon buster sword. I felt the knights materia react and the cloak was sucked inside of it.
Waving my finger a portal opened up and I could see inside of the little kingdom. The cloak was floating in front of the 13 knights and suddenly starter to split off and covered the various white knight bodies. It didnt seem to lose mass and just continued to float in the air. But now my knights were clothed in cloaks.
"Thank you my King." The 13 genderless voices say at once kneeling in my direction.
"No problem. Give me a moment and I'll give you all some armor to wear and weapons." I have quite a few weapons that I won't use plus all the judge weapons. Things like greatswords, glaives, spears, guns, staves, axes, all different kinds of weapons.
The question is, do I want to give them male armor or female armor? A group of female knights to guard me sounds nice. Depending on the armor given to them their voices and personality will change as they will inhabit the armor. Their armor and weapons will be able to auto repair using their magic, as they essentially become living armors.
Closing the portal for now I head back to the bed and start creating materia, they can all use magic. Meaning they can all nurture materia. With my new mana reserves I can easily make materia.
I seperate the materia into sets of 13, including a chocobo summon I can now make. What is a knight if they have no steed? I'll have to go and purchase more saddles and saddle bags but that will be worth it. I also include a very sharp combat dagger of excellent quality with each of the materia.
I lay out various weapons from the previous judges empires army. I also grab out the various leathers and judge armor for females. The complete armor set hides the entire body not a single bit of flesh revealed and it is incredibly sturdy armor.
