Bethany's POV

I woke up with a pounding headache, my head spinning, my body heavy. For a moment, I couldn't remember where I was or how I got here. The cool stone beneath me told me I was still in the packhouse, but everything felt wrong, too wrong to even begin to explain.

The last thing I remembered was Mason, his smug expression as he leaned in closer, whispering promises that made my skin crawl. A promise to make me his, no matter what. That's when I started to feel off, my body uncooperative, my thoughts slipping away.

I tried to sit up, but dizziness swept over me, making the room spin. My legs were shaky, and I struggled to find my bearings. The dim light from the small window only added to the sense of disorientation.

I pushed myself off the bed, but the second my feet touched the floor, my knees buckled. I reached out to steady myself against the nearest wall, leaning on it for support as I tried to regain some semblance of control.
