Capítulo 13: Memories 1

William reached for the unwanted trench coat that laid on the wooden floor. He closed his fingers around the soft fabric, picking it up, then hung the coat back where it originally was. Color in William's wardrobe is incredibly scarce. Everything in their was either black, white, or different shades of the two colors combined. There were probably traces of red or blue that are worked in with the design, but for the most part, it was all the same. The male didn't have much variety with his clothes either. He would always wear a dress shirt along with dress pants, dress shoes, and a tie. The variety was in William's outer layer. Some days he would wear a blazer, others he would wear a vest, and occasionally he would forgo the outer layer altogether or wear both the blazer and the vest.

Since William isn't going out anytime soon and he was already in his closet, he decided to grab a change of clothes and headed towards the bathroom. He let the hot water wash away a day's worth of dirt and stress before putting on a white t-shirt and grey sweatpants. William looked at himself in the mirror. Without the tie, he looked more approachable and less uptight. His wet hair that fell over his eyes made him look more human as well. He ran his hand through his hair, pushing his damp locks back. There's no meaning behind this. He did it to simply get his hair out of his face.

It took Phoebe no time to organize her reference materials. It stacked in a certain order such as Overview, first encounters, my encounter, motive and cleanup. Phoebe had a joy of writing reports long, short or multiple. She heard the shower cut on and a smile went across her face."

At least he bathe himself" Phoebe looked at a wall clock and saw how close midnight was creeping up on them. More importantly to Phoebe she wanted to contact her little orphan Annie.

She slithered over to the couch to use William's phone. She held the phone with both hands as she played with the touch pad waiting for Rhea's number to populate in her head. "Oh yeah I remember now" she smiled and dialed out the first number that came to mind.

"Hello? Phoebe I've been calling you all night where have you've been? I was getting a little worried are you alright?" Rhea would answer in a tone of relief having had been trying to reach the now ejected phone of Phoebe.

"Hey! Of course I'm okay don't underestimate me so easily Rhea. I'm just calling to tell you don't go near my place just go home tonight. I may have a killer on my trail and the last thing I need is innocent bystanders alright?" Phoebe said as nicely as she could. She hate breaking promises to Rhea but for her safety she would sacrifice herself. "Alright I know you'll make it up to me so get some rest I'll be heading home now as well goodnight." With that Rhea understood Phoebe's intentions. Phoebe started to stretch across the couch waiting for William to emerge from his bedroom door. She stared up at the wall thinking about how mean she use to be to her half sister Rhea. When she met Rhea it was living proof of how much of a pig her dad was after Phoebe mom's death. At the time Phoebe wasn't in the right state of mind. In the long run Phoebe fell in love with little Rhea, she would always cheer Phoebe up by dressing up in her large clothes and singing to her. Phoebe would cover her with a blanket when she tired herself out. Phoebe would chuckle as she reminisced.

After coming out of the bathroom, he grabbed a pamphlet from the kitchen and gave it to Phoebe. That was the only menu he had. If Phoebe wasn't a frequent guest at William's home, he wouldn't have a menu to give her in the first place. William himself didn't even take the menu and it was Phoebe who brought the folded piece of paper into the premises.

Phoebe look up to the strange alter ego of William handing her a menu.

"Hey look at you almost unrecognizable" she hopped up off the couch. She opened the pamphlet shuffling through the pages.

"This is the one I brought here, which means their steak and potatoes will be amazing" she immediately placed the order over the phone while she was still near it. After placing the call she would stand on the couch so that she would be at eye level or tower over Willy so that she can run her finger through his hair.

"How can your hair be this straight when damp? I envy this... look at my hair it's already curly at the ends...And your outfit is what gets me the most guys your age wear this everyday to become the most amazing chick magnet yet you wear yours to bed. Your a piece of work Willy" she smiled and jumped down from the couch "oh yeah....sorry for being a diva early...I just really hate those trench coats"

As Phoebe ran her finger through his soft, damp, straight locks, William gazed out of the large window that seemed to take up most of the wall. This perfectly captures how close the two were. Although Phoebe paid no regard to personal space with just about everyone, William, on the other hand, was very different. He is a reserved individual, not liking to touch or be touched by those he doesn't know well enough. Because this is Phoebe who was touching his hair, William didn't feel uncomfortable in the slightest. He simply marveled at the city that was bustling with life well after the sun had set as Phoebe raved on about his hair and his fashion sense. During the day, he found the view to be dull and mundane. However, when night fell, the whole city would come alive as each building was adorned with hundreds of lights. At night, he found the view to be more enjoyable.

Everything was great. Everything was fine until Phoebe made the mistake and said a phrase that brought up horrific memories for William. The words she said unraveled a piece of his young life that his consciousness tried to forget while his subconscious clung onto it, torturing him with it. His hazel eyes went wide upon hearing those selective words as he involuntarily took a step back from Phoebe. Seeing fear written on William's face and body was extremely, extremely rare, especially when he looked this terrified. William was a man of few words and emotions. People would rely on William to be logical when there is nothing around them but chaos. They would count on him to be the rock in a hurricane of madness. Showing fear was unlike him and it was all because of these five words: "You're a piece of work."
