"What?" Althea's forehead furrowed with confusion and frustration.
Lila nodded, carrying a basket into the room. "We apologize for the inconvenience."
Althea crossed her arms against her chest and scowled, still bewildered by the sudden request. "No, you're not the ones who should be apologizing. It should be him. He let me into the room, and now he just suddenly wants me to leave?" She watched as they began removing her few belongings and the clothes she had worn.
The other maid, Kelly, chimed in, "Nope. I mean, it's shocking, and this is the first time he's done something like this to someone in this-ow." She winced as Lila pinched her thigh.
Althea keenly observed the exchange, her curiosity piqued. "Care to dive in further?"
Lila offered a reassuring smile. "Don't mind Kelly; she's always like this." She then passed a bundle of clothes to Kelly.
