Capítulo 16: Buying Time 3
"Ankhseram help us all." The Earth God Slayer said in horror while looking at the mountain-sized dragon, which landed before us. All of the god slayers began to pray to their gods, scared of the sight before us.
"So, which one of you is the one called Ryu? I want you to join me, and lead my army to conquer the world." The five-headed dragon said, its head sizing all of us up. This caused the 12 God slayer to grow tense, scared that I would join this dragon.
"Your soul disgusts me, you're not even worth the hair on my queen's hair," I said coldly, enraged that such a disgusting thing dared to speak such words before me. Erza gave me the signal, so I stepped forward before bursting forward, shooting towards the dragon. I shall take the first move, getting the advantage,
But the Dragon God moved at a speed that made no sense for its large size. It moved to slap me out of the sky, forcing me to quickly fly over the hand, and shoot up the dragon arm. The Dragon smirked while looking at the annoying fly, its body exploded with lightning, which I quickly devoured before it could hit me.
I felt empowered by this powerful lightning, and with greater power, I burst forward, while the Dragon frowned as its lightning was supposed to overwhelm my fire body, injuring me. It was also sudden, so the dragon god thought I would have been affected while not given a chance to switch magic.
He moved, moving far faster to slap his arm, with a lightning cover dragon palm, the dragon palm slapped down upon me, covering the sky. But one of the god slayers moved, using his Space God Slayer magic, having me teleport next to the water dragon's head.
I was stunned, but I wasted no time while my body exploded with the heat of the sun, and with a cry, I unleashed everything on trying to destroy this dragon head. But the water dragon's head breathed out, unleashing a water dragon breath towards me, easily overwhelming my flames.
I quickly opened my mouth, devouring the water before it could hit me, at the same time, Erza appeared at the Water Dragon's neck as she was teleported there, and launched her attack, sending the dragon's neck flying backward. The lightning dragon head moved to attack Erza, but a Lightning God Slayer appeared, devouring its lightning. The other head had its perfect counter appearing before it,
We all attacked the 5 heads, which quickly annoyed the Dragon god, and forced it to unleash its full might, sending us all flying backwards. It focused its attention on the Space God Slayer, but we all moved, devouring his attack while landing attacks upon it. But like its height, this dragon's defenses were high as it took all of our attacks, and ignored them.
The Dragon was annoyed, well most annoyed with me as I was using Mental Slayer magic to attack its mind. it had lived a long life so its mind was anything but weak, but with me just attacking it over and over, while sending loud cries into its mind, and so many more, it gave us the chance to land so many blows upon it while avoiding being hit...
"Ryu! You foolish humans, like the ants you all are, fleeing and attacking, is this your best attempt to take me down?" The Dragon God asked while flying up into the sky, waving us away with the powerful wind its wings created.
"I will get serious, I will show you why I'm the dragon god." The Dragon God said before we all froze, as the space God Slayer suddenly had an earth spike pierce through him from right under his foot, and straight into his head. We all turned to look at him in shock.
"I had mastered all of the 5 elements to the max. you all had fun running around, and devouring my attacks.... what about this?" He said while controlling the 5 elements, fusing them all into one, before he shot it towards us at blinding speed. It was fast, too fast to dodge, and through gritted teeth, I shot forward, to meet with the attack.
"GO!" I screamed at them, while I slammed into the huge beam, my body burning and being electrified all at once. I gritted my teeth, before opening my mouth, devouring this. I didn't know if I could devour the fusion of so many elements, but I had no choice but to.
But as I devoured it, I instantly felt it as my body rejected this, luckily, Erza appeared, pulling me out of there, although this led to her face being burnt leading to her face melting.
"Erza..." I said in shock, to which Erza although in pain tried to smile it off, she tried to use my phoenix magic to heal herself. But although her face did heal, it still showed the damage. Everyone had moved out of the way of the attack thanks to the small window I had brought them, but with the Space God mage dead, we were sure to die here.
We all looked at each other, all of us accepting that we would die today. I sighed softly, but after a moment, I went on to try and fuse my mind magic with my Fire Slayer magic. it was something I forcefully did, because at the end of the day, I would die today, might as well go out with a boom.
"Ryu, leave. You're the future king of the empire, and maybe the hope of the empire. Go." Erza said with a gentle smile, causing me to pause for a moment before I smiled... that smile brought back memories of my parents... that's right, my dad did teach me something about fire.
"Haha, you are looking down upon normal flames? Well, let me tell you all fire started somewhere. Phoenix Fire, Dragon Fire, Devil Fire, and so on. They all in the end started where? This seemingly normal fire, holds so many possible evolution paths, paths you want to ignore thanks to limited imagination?" Noah said while showing the young me normal fire.
"Master the basic flames, to get the strongest flame. Do not look down upon normal magic, for under the right hands, even the weakest-looking magic is magic. Magic is something you should never look down upon, for so long as one spirit is strong, anything is possible. Magic has no limitation, only the holder of the magic gives it limitations." Noah said, to which my world came to pause as I thought about those words.
'You have no limitation... I shouldn't force you, magic is a friend, not an enemy. Fire magic is my spirit, and the last time I checked, my spirit was burning strong. and my Mind was equally strong. Why are the two rejecting each other? I'm forcing something that should naturally happen.' I thought as my mind and fires stopped fighting against each other, the two working together.
"I'm not worthy of being your king," I said while mental flames covered me, unseen and unsensed, but they were burning everything around me to my will. These mental flames, were sucking me dry, but their might was great thanks to the high mastery of my mind, it meant my control of these flames was on the same level.
"What flames are these?" The Dragon God asked with a frown, he could sense the flames, but he couldn't tell what type of fire this was.
With a flash, I shot toward the Dragon God. But the dragon god also moved, enduring the fact his mind was burning the closer he got to me and attacked me, sending me rocketing down with such ease it was scary.
I quickly slowed my fall using my mental flames, and with a thought, I moved myself to the side dodging the dragon god who landed next to me. Even so, I was sent rocketing away from the shock wave, while the Dragon God shot after me.
'I'm still not his match?' I thought gritting my teeth. I looked at one of his dragon head's eyes. With a thought, my telekinesis almost instantly appeared before that eye, but he moved quickly, dodging the attacks and creating a huge sea of water that clashed with my mind fire.
I was about to move but paused as he fused the water with, Fire, Earth, Lightning, and Air. The element created was far more powerful than the last one, for this one seems to erase everything in its path.
My mental flames clashed with this strange power, sending me sliding backward while my head felt like it was going to explode. I gritted my teeth while looking towards the Dragon God.
"My Spirit is still burning!" I roared while I stopped myself from sliding backward. There was so much stuff I had to do, how could I go meet my parents when I had caused more problems than good things? I reject death, so long as I have a breath inside me, I shall not die.
The mental flames exploded with such power, that they began to show themselves in reality, my armor also began transforming, taking on a dragon-like appearance. I roared from the bottom of my lungs, pushing forward against this powerful element, and slowly overwhelming it. Erza and the others wasted in no time, and all shot forward seeing the dragon's attention was focused on me.
'It hurts, but is this pain enough to break my spirit? I'm still burning!' I roared bursting through the Dragon God's magic and shooting forward. If one could see my face, they would see I was bleeding all over, I was pushing my mind and body past their limit.
"Interesting!" The Dragon God laughed while looking at the huge phoenix formed from my flames shooting towards him. He grinned while moving to clash with it. but was I alone, Erza joined the god slayers, all of them launching a fuse dragon breath at the Dragon God,
The Dragon God was forced to fall backward, and while its 5 heads opened their mouth, all of them unleashed their breath attacks which fused, shooting toward me. I gritted my teeth, being unable to dodge, I had no choice but the fly through this attack, and focused all of my magical power in front of me,
"Space God Secret art... Switch." Behind us, the Space God Slayer who we thought was dead was still alive, although barely. He used the last bit of his magic, to do one thing, turn space around, leading to the scene where the Dragon God found his two wings cut by Erza and the other's attacks, followed by me slamming hard into his stomach, sending the Dragon God Flying Backwards while coughing up a mouthful of blood.
The Dragon was quick as at the last moment, he had reinforced his body with Earth magic, this saved it, and although injured and couldn't fly anymore, it was still a powerhouse. a powerhouse that was boiling in rage,
"You ants!" He roared in rage, a roar which destroyed all nearby mountains, if he could right now, he would have shot into the sky and breathed down with power that this whole country would be destroyed. But he would be affected by such a thing, and it would surely kill him as well, there was a reason they had to fly high into the sky to do something like this, plus he was sure he might enrage many powerful dragons on this continent, dragons which in his weakened state he didn't want to fight,
"Damn..." I said weakly unable to move in the slightest, my mind was about to shut down, my body had already shut down, and I was out of magical energy. but this wasn't too bad, with how weakened this dragon was, everyone had a chance. at least my death wasn't meaningless.
My sleepy eyes met with the dragon god, who let out a dragon breath towards me, I closed my eyes, accepting this might be my end. But after a moment, I found myself flying away, Erza carrying me while she flew away with everything she had. I looked at her legs, just to find they had been erased
She didn't want to waste any more of my phoenix magic which was running out on healing herself. So, she had burnt her injuries with fire and was focused on fleeing with everything she had.
"You're legs..." I said weakly, I wouldn't be able to heal them since she used phoenix magic to seal them. She knew this,
"Just shut up, and live," Erza said to which I said nothing while I forcefully had myself stay awake, if I closed my eyes, I would be asleep for days... days we didn't have.
