Capítulo 4: Chapter-4 Memory Problems

As Mystogan finally disappeared, the ones put under the spell finally awakened.

"That spell. Was it Mystogan?" Gray spoke, rubbing his eyes as he got up.

"That basta*d. His sleep spell is so strong." Jet spoke in an annoyed tone.

"Mystogan?" Lucy asked.

"He's one of the candidates for the strongest males in fairy Tail." Loke came forward, but immediately backed off as he noticed that it was Lucy.

"Well, he doesn't want his face to be seen. So, he uses a sleep spell whenever he comes here." Gary explained.

"Sounds fishy as hell." Lucy exclaimed.

"Doesn't it?" Satoru added.

"I guess, only master and Satoru are the ones, who've seen his face." Gray spoke.

"Oh, I've seen him too." A voice came from the upper floor.

"Laxus, you're here too?" Gray asked.

"Yo, doing good I see." Laxus waved at the bunch.

Seeing Lucy's confused face, someone said from behind, "He's also another candidate for the strongest males."

"Yeah, Mystogan is just a shy little prince. So, don't be too suspicious of him." Satoru spoke motioning with his hand.

Laxus then looked at Lucy, "And, you must be the blonde wizard everyone is talking about."

"Huh?"

"Well, you're bound to get famous after drowning Hargeon, defeating a hundred Vulcans, then thrashing the Eisenwald guild and destroying Lullaby.

The name Lucy Heartfillia is getting pretty famous, you know?" Laxus replied with a chuckle.

"What? First of all, I was dragged along on each and every one of these quests and second, I wasn't even the one who defeated them.

E- Except for that Hargeon incident, of course." She basically muttered the last part. Panic slowly striding on her face.

"Humm… I heard the dark guilds already have a bounty on your head." Satoru added, freaking out the already worried girl.

"Please, tell me you're just pulling my legs." She shuddered but didn't get any reply.

Laxus chuckled and looked at Satoru, saying, "So, you fought Erza-" But was interrupted by Natsu, who suddenly got up.

Throwing the poor cat off of him, he said out loud, "Gah! Erza? I finally defeated Erza."

"Wow, nice dream you must be having." Satoru mused at the boy.

"What? What the hell happened?" Natsu asked, confused about the whole situation.

"You missed a big fight. That's what happened, flame brain." Gray spoke.

"Say what?"

"Your clothes, Gray." Cana spoke from the side.

"Sh*t! Where did they disappear again?" He seemed shocked and started searching for them.

'Jeez, even I can't track how fast he takes them off. Or, do they really just disappear?' Satoru thought to himself.

The others explained the epic fight between Erza and Satoru to Natsu. Who seemed wholeheartedly disappointed that he just slept through it.

"Happy! Why didn't you wake me up?" Natsu asked, a bit frustrated.

"Aye! I fell asleep too." Happy replied in a cheery voice, not at all caring about missing anything.

"Well, no matter… I can just fight Satoru now. I was planning to challenge him too anyways." Natsu grinned and was now all energetic, he walked towards Satoru with a wide grin on his face.

"Fight me next, Satoru!" Natsu spoke.

"Don't you get tired!" Lucy exclaimed from the side.

Satoru chuckled at the energetic boy, he just walked forward and gently ruffled his hair, "I'm tired now. Maybe later, alright?" He had a gentle smile on his face that made the other girls' hearts skip a beat.

And to all of their surprise, Natsu immediately complied. They were definitely not expecting the hot-headed dragon slayer to stop without a fight.

'He defeated him without even fighting him.' Everyone thought as Satoru slowly walked outside of the guild.

'Yup, that's something only he would be able to do.' They thought and almost all of them nodded at the same time.

Before signing off for the day, Satoru visited the Heartfillia Estate, just to check up on Layla. And saying that she looked devastated would be an understatement.

Her husband, Jude Heartfillia had also heard all that had happened. They had also arranged for Kurust to live somewhere safe, since he was alone in Pergrande anyways.

And Satoru's payment had already been deposited to his bank account.

"Thank you again, Satoru." Layla said to him. Her eyes red from all the crying.

"Think nothing of it. So, what next?" He asked, just curious what she wanted to do, moving further.

"I of course, would want more answers. From Zoldeo himself… But, finding Brandish is my priority right now.

That is the least I can do for her…" Her eyes teared up again.

"Well, if you need any help, you know where to find me." Satoru said as he looked around.

"So, how's Jude by the way?" He asked.

"Dear- He… Sigh, he is still not accepting Lucy being there. But I'm sure he'll come around." She replied.

"Yeah, he'll have to. She's your daughter after all. And trying to hold such potential down, would just be stupid." Satoru spoke.

Layla just nodded with a smile and thought about the things she needed to do next.

"Alright, I just wanted to check in. Take care then, see you later." He waved and disappeared from her vision.

Few Weeks Later:

Backyard of the Fairy Tail Guild:

Natsu had requested a friendly spar with Satoru and now, Satoru was teaching Natsu some hand-to-hand combat.

"Hah!" Natsu threw two quick punches towards Satoru's face. He blocked one punch and swatted another away.

And swiftly shifting to the side, he backhanded the back of Natsu's head. Natsu stumbled a bit forward and without turning back, he threw a back heel.

Raising his own leg high, Satoru directed Natsu's kick away and immediately with the other leg, gave a push kick on his back.

"Keuk!" Natsu was thrown a bit further, but he did a few front-flips and perfectly landed on his legs.

"Tsk." Natsu grumbled. He had tried many ways, but failed to land a single proper hit on the guy. He couldn't break past his fighting technique.

And in terms of raw strength, there was no point brute forcing either as that would obviously backfire.

"Relax… You tend to read too much into things." Satoru spoke to him.

"You undoubtedly have the raw strength and control over your magic. But since you win almost every one of your fights with brute force.

Anyone who's proficient enough in fighting would be able to take you down."

"What do you mean?" He asked as he got up, stretching his body.

"I won't say that you lack technique. Your magic isn't exactly suited for a technical fight. Humm… But as far as your growth is concerned, fighting strong opponents is the only way for you to be stronger." Satoru replied.

"But he has been fighting you, hasn't he?" Happy, who was watching their fight, asked.

It was Natsu, who replied, "Yeah but it's different with him or anyone else from the guild. Since I know for sure that we won't go for the kill.

Nothing seems to be at stake. And I never feel any kind of progress." Natsu replied cupping his chin.

"That's true. And you obviously can't learn anything, if your opponent just offs you in one strike." Satoru spoke with a chuckle.

Natsu winced, remembering his recent fight with Erza. "Sigh… That's why sometimes, I choose some difficult jobs.

But recently, that too has been getting easier and easier." He spoke.

"Oh? Is that why Happy stole that S-Class quest from the second floor?" Satoru asked with a smirk and both Natsu and Happy started sweating.

Natsu backed off a bit and said, "I- I don't know what you're talking about, Satoru." He didn't sound convincing at all.

Satoru turned to Happy, who was trying his best to avoid an eye contact. It was then that the loyal cat saw a fresh fish on Satoru's hand.

Happy flew towards him and exclaimed, "It was him. It was all him. I'm innocent. I was just enjoying my time, eating a fish and then he blackmailed me into doing so."

He had teary eyes and was standing in front of Satoru making a cute face, hoping he would get the fish.

"A fish for an honest cat." Satoru smiled and handed him the fresh fish.

"You traitor-" Natsu was about to retort to the cat when Satoru said, "I'm guessing you were planning to take Lucy too."

"Well, she is our team member." Natsu awkwardly replied.

"So, you aren't denying stealing the request letter." Satoru smirked.

"Wha-" He was about to explain when someone else spoke from behind, "Who stole what quest?"

It was Erza. She was in her Heart Kreuz armor. "What was that Natsu?" She walked forward, with an intimidating look on her face.

"I uh-" Natsu didn't know what to say but Satoru spoke up, "Well, I was planning to give Natsu some hands-on experience.

So, I was thinking of taking him and Lucy in an S-class quest, of course, just as observers." He said and since he was behind Erza, he lifted a side of his blindfold and gave Natsu a wink.

He immediately acted normal when Erza looked back. She thought for a while and despite knowing a bit about what might have happened, she couldn't complain about anything.

After all, an S-class wizard was allowed to take someone else with him on a quest. As long as master approves it and master Makarov would never refuse Satoru.

But then she had an excellent idea. She smirked and said, "Well, then if that's the case. Why don't the entire members of team Natsu, go to the quest?

And with Satoru coming along, it would be easier to handle any problems. And you'd all get a better look at the scope of an S-class quest."

"Wait, that means-" Natsu was about to speak, when Erza interrupted him.

"Yes, Me and Gray will also be coming along. I can come, right? Afterall, we're a team, aren't we Natsu?" She looked at him making an innocent face.

Poor Natsu couldn't refuse the request, which half sounded like an order. But what they said was true too… Maybe he was indeed blinded by his momentary impulse and an S-class quest really might have a scope beyond anything he has experienced until now.

Afterall, the guild and the council were serious about these things and it couldn't be just because of its danger levels, but also the complexity.

'Sigh… I wanted to finish this with Lucy, but the more the merrier I guess.' Natsu thought to himself.

Erza then went on to inform gray about the quest. Satoru looked at the dejected salamander and said, "Don't worry, I won't involve myself too much.

So, it'll all be you, gray and Lucy. And well, Erza is Erza… There will be no stopping her once she's decided what she wants to do."

"Thanks." Natsu replied with a smile.

"Wow, that escalated quickly huh." Happy spoke as he walked towards Natsu, he still had the half eaten fish on his mouth.

"All thanks to you, Stupid cat. Come here!" Natsu suddenly started chasing him and Happy evaded by flying around.

"Aye! Anything for a fresh fish." The cat replied, scurrying away from each of Natsu's attempts to grab him.

The same evening:

Lucy was returning to her home from a short job that she took by herself today. 'Hah, I'm desperately in need of a bath.'

She had a blissful expression on her face as she imagined herself, relaxing on her bathtub. Her cute little summon, Plue was following her along, watching her skip in happiness.

With the same cheery expression, Lucy opened the door to her apartment.

"What?" She was shocked to see that her apartment had become a gathering place. It was Satoru, Erza, Gray, Natsu and Happy.

Satoru, Erza, Gray and Happy were playing cards on the side. While Natsu was doing some sit-ups, sweating all over the place.

"Yo, welcome Lucy." Satoru waved to the girl.

"This is my home!" She exclaimed.

"When did we say, it's not?" Natsu asked, continuing his set.

"Go exercise at your own home." She smacked his face. "And your sweat stinks!" She added.

"Glad to see you doing well, Lucy." Erza spoke with a stern face.

"Gray, your clothes." Happy pointed out to the almost naked guy.

"Shit! When did I- Ah, Lucy can I borrow some of your clothes?" Gray asked with a serious face.

Lucy just sighed, 'I just can't with these guys…' She then said, "So, what is this? Is there something important or is this you guys just, normalizing Natsu's antics of invading my home and my PRIVACY?" She looked at Natsu with a frown, while saying the last part.

Cupping his chin, Satoru replied, "Humm… It is something important. But now that you mention invading, we should do this more often… This is fun after all."

They all nodded and Natsu asked in excitement, "Isn't it?"

Lucy then said in a defeated tone, "Please, I'd rather you don't." 'I also need my sweet time alone.'

"Well, putting all the invasions aside… Lucy, Satoru and I have decided to take team Natsu in an S-class quest, for a hands-on experience." Erza spoke.

"A what?" She asked, confused.

It was Natsu, who explained, "Listen Lucy, other than the s-class wizards themselves, no one would be normally allowed to take on these quests.

But under the supervision of at least one S-class wizard, they can take others too. Think about it, it's going to be a once in a lifetime experience.

And imagine the list of accomplishments on your name. An s-class quest by a non-s-class wizard."

"You can't win me over with sweet words, Natsu. My list of 'accomplishments' has already been crazy enough. I'm still searching for the one who put my name on the things that didn't do." She grumbled.

"There's also a golden gate key for a reward in this quest." Satoru spoke from the side.

The blonde immediately changed her attitude, "But yeah, if master Makarov approves this. Then why not. I am a part of your team, after all. And I wouldn't want to be left behind, you know." She said with a smile.

"I knew you'd accept it." Natsu gave her a side hug in excitement.

"Ugh, Natsu… You seriously need a bath."

"You're heartless Lucy." He replied, faking a hurt expression.

"You've been sweating for God knows how long and then you latch on to me like a lizard. Who's the heartless one? Sigh… You know what, forget it." Lucy spoke a bit irritated.

But she couldn't deny it, being around a group of friends who'd brighten up your mood and lighten up the silence in your room. It was definitely something she wasn't completely against.

She was thinking with a content smile when she opened her eyes, only to see Erza, Natsu and Gray suddenly thrashing each other around.

Apparently gray was caught cheating and now Erza wanted justice. And Natsu who wasn't even playing, was in on the fight.

Satoru was silently enjoying a sweet roll, that he'd taken out of her cold-storage/fridge. And happy was on the wall, sharpening his claws. (A/N: I don't know if fridge exists in this world.)

With her eyebrows twitching, she said, "Yeah, forget that I just thought about all those good things."

As expected, they were kicked out of the house and Lucy had to spend half of the night, putting the things in her room back into place.

Inside Fairy Tail guild:

"Master, are you sure about this?" Mira asked to the old man, after Satoru had informed about what they were going to do.

"Well, Satoru and Erza both will be there. So, I'm sure there will be no problems." He replied.

"What was the job, by the way?" She asked.

"The one from the Galuna Island." He replied, much to the surprised expression from everyone.

The Next Day:

Port Town Hargeon:

"Woah, it's been a while since I've been here." Lucy said as she looked around the town near the seaside.

"Been a while? That was less than a month ago." Natsu spoke from behind.

"Pfft… Old lady Lucy." Happy added with a snicker.

"So, where's Satoru-san and the others?" She asked.

And as if on cue, Gray called them from behind, "Yo! You guys here already?" He was in his loose white shirt and black baggy pants.

"Good morning, everyone." It was Erza, who as always was dragging a whole cart of stuff along with herself.

'How the hell is she going to take that across the ocean?' Lucy thought to herself.

"So, we're going by ship, I presume?" She asked.

"Impossible! We're swimming there." Natsu added.

"Isn't that more impossible?" Gray questioned.

"Oh, Satoru isn't here yet?" Erza came forward.

"This was the meeting location, right?" Lucy asked.

"Hey everyone!" Satoru called them out from a bit far away. He was wearing a light blue shirt, dark blue pants with black leather shoes and the dark round sunglasses.

He was waving at them standing along with another person. "Over here!" He called them.

Once they gathered near him Satoru said, "Everyone, meet Mr. Bobo. He will be our guide to Galuna Island."

He pointed towards the slightly dark-skinned man with prominent moustache.

"Guide? Don't ships normally go there or something?" Gray asked, confused as to why they needed a guide.

"It's a cursed Island. Also known as the Island of demons." Erza replied, giving the man a suspicious frown. She could feel something different from him.

'Wait, Demons? I'm slowly starting to regret coming along. But it should be alright, right?' She looked at Erza and Satoru.

"And to be fair, no one else but Bob here is willing to guide us there." Satoru spoke.

"Wait, what do you mean cursed?" Natsu who was thinking until now, spoke.

"Well, that's what we're going to investigate, aren't we? And Bob here can explain things along the way, since he knows a few things about it." Satoru replied.

"Nice to meet you, wizards from Fairy Tail. Wait, Mr. Gojo… We all can't obviously fit in my small boat." Bob turned back, pointing at the small row boat.

"Oh, you don't have to worry about that. We'll be leaving on that." Satoru pointed at the big intricately designed wooden ship, that was just beside Bob's small boat.

The ship was practically empty, except for the staffs who were still working over there.

"Wait, but did we book it or something?" Lucy asked. She was shocked to see that it seemed bigger and more luxurious than the one she was invited in, on her first day in Hargeon.

"Well, I just bought it so need to worry about that." Satoru casually replied and started walking towards the ship.

'Bought that thing! How rich are you?' Lucy exclaimed in her mind.

"Now, come on. The crew is waiting." He spoke as he turned around with a cheery expression and motioned them with his hand.

"Crew? But didn't you say that no one was willing to take us there?" Erza asked as they followed him.

"Heh... They're a special bunch of wizards that my family sent, on my request." He replied.

"Oh." She nodded.

Only Bob and Lucy seemed surprised at this, others knew who he was and about his family.

'Wait, wait… I just realized… Satoru Gojo from the Gojo Familia… The Gojo Familia… How did I not put two and two together?' Lucy questioned herself.

(A/N: Ok, before anybody starts tweaking out. Yes, at first, he lived away from his Familia, with his mother and his big-sister. Why? That's a spoiler territory.)

Happy got close to her with a grin, "What nonsense is Lucy the gold digger's mind cooking now?"

"It's nothing like that, you stupid cat!" She kicked him away.

'He himself is so casual and easygoing, that I never connected the dot… After all, the Gojo family is one of the most powerful groups of wizards and merchants.

So, he is the youngest heir of the family huh. Wait, was he the one who my father purposed the marriage with?' She thought to herself.

"Woah, this is so cool." Gray and Happy said at the same time as they walked closer to the ship.

Satoru was on the platform smiling at them, when he saw Erza fidgeting about how to load her stuff into the ship, along with some of the crew members who were trying to help her. But couldn't budge the thing since it was too heavy.

Suddenly appearing near her, he asked, "What is in there anyways?" He looked at the cart filled with suitcases, that was bigger than a small house.

"My stuff?" She tilted her head and casually replied.

"Sigh… Alright, I guess I can keep this for you." He touched the side of the cart and it disappeared into particles of light.

"Oh! You put that in your subspace. Thank you, Satoru." She enthusiastically grabbed his head and slammed it on her chest plate.

"Tang!"

"Keuk!" He grumbled, 'Tsk… How I wish the armor wasn't there.' He mumbled.

"What was that?" Erza asked.

"Nothing, nothing." He replied and walked away and she followed him into the ship.

"Natsu! Don't tell me you're really planning to swim to the island?" Lucy asked from the deck of the ship, looking at the boy who was still on the port, hesitant about boarding in.

"Wup! I'm already feeling sick." He held his mouth and fell to the ground.

"Haah, I almost forgot about the Dragon Slayer problem…" Satoru said and appeared in front of Natsu.

"Heads up, boyo." He said with a grin.

And confused, Natsu looked up to him, only to be met with a finger tap on his forehead. He felt his consciousness slip away.

As Satoru pulled his finger away, Natsu fell on his arms. "All done!" He turned back to the group, holding Natsu on his shoulder and giving them a thumbs up.

Lucy and Gray sweat dropped at this, while Happy and Erza approved it with a smile and a nod.

Sometime Later:

In the middle of the ocean:

"Young master. The fog is starting to thicken." The captain of the ship spoke to Satoru, who was standing by his side.

"Is this the reason why sailors refuse to go this way?" He asked and the man nodded.

"Keep heading straight. If Bobo is right, this should be the correct way." He spoke and walked outside to the deck.

Natsu was still asleep and Happy was by his side. Erza, Lucy and Gray were hearing out Bobo's story about the cursed island.

Despite being at a distance, Satoru had also heard it, so with his hands in his pocket he walked close to them and said, "You seem pretty familiar with the island."

"Yes… Afterall, I was of its cursed inhabitants." He replied in a deep voice as the fog thickened more and covered half of his body.

In the dark shadow of the fog, Bobo's arm changed into a demonic claw. Others seemed shocked at this, except for Satoru.

Without much change in his expression he said, "The curse that turns humans into demons."

A cool breeze went past the ship deck, they closed their eyes for a moment and when they opened it again, Bobo had already disappeared.

"What? Where did he go?" Lucy and Happy said at the same time, a bit freaked out.

Erza and Gray were frowning, as they looked around trying to find him.

And Satoru thought with a smirk, 'A way to make an exit.' He was looking to the sky, where Bobo had flown off to, after growing a pair of wings on his back. Others seemed unaware of this though.

'Demonification curse huh… Interesting. Well, there must some reason why that demon thinks that he's a human, in the first place.

Memory alteration is the best explanation I can think for now… But let's find out, shall we?' He smirked as he could see the island that was closing up.

Having any kind of vision in this fog would be impossible for anybody else. But this fog was nothing for Satoru's eyes.

"Raise the sails and prepare for slowing down… We're closing in, to the rifts of the Island." Satoru said out loud and the captain ordered the same. The crew then started to do their work.

After a while:

It was already night time and the moon was partially out, just over the horizon.

They were now on the shore of the Galuna Island. It was crescent shaped piece of land in the middle of the ocean and was almost filled with forest with some tall ancient ruins, that could be seen from far away.

"You guys wait here; We'll be back in a few." Satoru said to the ship's crew

"Be careful young master." The captain replied.

"Oh, I will, alright." 'I'll be careful not to mess around too much.' He thought with a sneaky grin.

The others were talking about what to do next, when Satoru felt something over the highest point of the island.

'A ritualistic magic? Heh… Interesting.' He thought.

"Hey Erza, you guys should go and have a talk with the ones who requested this job. I'll check something out." He said and disappeared before she could say something.

"And he's gone." Lucy said in an exasperated tone.

Natsu who was now back to his senses, got up and said, "What the- Are we there yet?"

"Where's Satoru?" He asked.

"He said he wanted to check something out." Gray replied.

"Hey Lucy!" Happy called her out from behind.

"Eeeeekkk!!!" She screeched after she turned around as the cat was wearing a human skull as a mask.

"Where did you even find that?" She asked as she calmed herself down.

"I just found it here."

'Found it here? This place is starting to creep me out even more. And now Satoru-san has disappeared somewhere, too.' While panicking, she looked at Erza and sighed a breath of relief.

"Everyone… We need to move. As Satoru said, we should talk to the people." Erza pointed her head forward and everyone looked at the giant wooden walls, that had a warning written in bold letters.

"KEEP OUT!!!"

Back to Satoru:

The moon was now just at the center of the sky and it had taken a slight purplish color. Satoru was standing atop one of the ancient ruins.

There on the very top of the pyramid like ruin, several people were gathered in circle, wearing similar robes and masks performing a ritual magic.

A purple magic circle was on the ground and it was collecting the light from the moon.

'As a heat source?' He thought, analyzing the magic.

'Have I learned about this magic before?' He cupped his chin, thinking about it when he felt someone observing him.

Pulling his glasses down he looked back at the direction of the observer as his eyes glowed with a bluish hue.

A bit far from where Satoru was, an old man with green hair, a hunched back and a red mask covering his eyes was standing atop a tree, trying to observe him.

He was standing there with a smile on his face, when that smile turned into a grunt of momentary terror.

'Shit! How? I'm literally a mile away.' He thought as he disappeared from there.

'And what the fu*k is 'he' doing here-' He suddenly stopped when he saw Satoru sitting on a tree branch, in front of him with his legs crossed.

Satoru had an intrigued look on his face. 'Ultear Milkovich? Isn't she a member of the council? Does she have anything to do with whatever is happening here?

Heh, a transformation spell huh. Meh, riff raff… Alright, I'll play along.' He thought to himself with a smile on his face.

"It's not nice to stalk someone, you know. Specially on a night like this." He pointed upwards to the purplish moon.

"I don't even know you, mister." The old man replied, beads of sweat running down his spine.

"Humm… My bad then. It's just that I'm kinda used to being famous… But no worries. Your age must be getting on to your memories so, I guess I can help you out." Satoru replied with a shrug.

"Help me… With what exactly?" 'He' awkwardly asked.

"Oh! Regaining your memory of course. A good one-two smack on the head should do the trick, don't you think?" He said with a chuckle.

'The old man'/Ultear was confused, 'Is he just playing with me?' She was a bit frustrated too.

She just blinked once and Satoru was gone from his previous place. Stiffening up a bit, she slowly turned to the side.

There he was, standing menacingly and looking down at her with those glowing blue eyes of his.

Ultear immediately activated her time magic and in a fraction of a second she tried to gaze several potential futures where she tried to attack him head on.

And all resulted in only one outcome, DEATH. On each and every future, she saw her dead and mangled body and her blood, painting the entirety of the forest.

Satoru was confused sensing the sudden spike of fear in the 'masked man's' heart, but he was surprised to see him dashing back and launching a small glass orb at him.

The glass orb suddenly multiplied into hundreds if not thousands of orbs and started glowing, gaining the property of light magic as they closed in on him.

"BOOM!"

All the orbs struck him down at the same time, creating a huge explosion that shook the entire island akin to a small earthquake.

As the dust cloud settled down and everything was cleared. The 'masked man' was gone. Satoru was standing unharmed and dumbfounded at the center of the massive crater.

"Uhh… She could have just gone away without being this dramatic… Sigh… Women." He just shrugged, 'And wasn't she the one stalking me?

Whatever… Although, I have to say… Time magic huh. Interesting indeed… But still, it seems like it's just a part of it, or she hasn't unlocked its full potential.

Although, I do wonder if she can influence living beings too.' He thought about the magic he had just analyzed with his eyes.

'That ruin earlier and this place… Except for that councilwoman, I don't sense anyone in particular that would give Natsu and the others any trouble.' He thought with a smirk.

Satoru then disappeared from the place, deciding to check it out more the next day since it was already too late.

Back to the masked man:

He was now inside a throne room completely made out of ice. And a man was sitting on the throne, wearing a horned helmet and white cape.

"Zalty? What happened? You don't seem too good." The man spoke when he saw the masked man panting as if he'd closely escaped death.

"Sub-Zero Emperor. You need to hurry up. I don't know why he hasn't come here yet. But everything will be ruined if he does." Zalty the green haired masked 'man' spoke.

"Who?" The one named Sub-Zero emperor asked.

Zalty seemed confused. Was this fool that unaware of what was happening right now. The entire western half of the forest was just blown up and this fool was sitting here like some edge lord.

"Satoru Gojo is here in this island. And I sense few others in the demon village." Zalty replied.

"Oh? That wizard from Fairy Tail huh. But it doesn't matter who's here. I will accomplish my goals nonetheless and anyone who gets in my way, will be eliminated." He declared in an arrogant tone.

'This guy… Is he hearing himself?' Zalty thought to himself and was about to speak, when Sub-Zero's lackies entered the room.

It was a pink haired girl who was being followed by a giant rat wearing a pink apron. Along with a topless, dog faced guy with shoulder length straight brown hair, and decorative canine ears on his head.

Lastly, a young man with bright blue braided hair, wearing green clothes and his most prominent feature being the big square and bushy dark eyebrows.

"Sir Lyon. Angelica found a ship docked near the northern rifts of the island." The pink haired girl, Sherry Blendy, spoke as she looked back at her pet rat.

"Is it those pirates that had been eying his island?" Lyon Vastia, the sub-zero emperor asked.

"I- I don't think so… We wanted to check it out, but Yuka seemed worried that there were some strong wizards that we wouldn't be able to handle." She replied and looked at the eyebrows guy.

"It's such a shame… I can't speak of my love, like this." She gasped in a dramatic way.

"Care to explain, Yuka?" Leon looked down at the guy with a menacing gaze. Though it didn't seem to do much, Yuka reacted in a bit worried tone and replied.

"Sir Lyon, I assure you. There were indeed a few strong presences. And considering that these two fools were with me, I thought it would be better to inform you first." Yuka replied.

Much to the displeasure of the dog faced guy who lashed out to him, threatening him to call him a fool, one more time.

"You are a fool, Toby. There's no debating this." Yuka sternly replied.

"It must be them then. If it's a ship, maybe others from the Fairy Tail are here too." Zalty spoke out to Leon.

"Why though." Toby seemed confused.

"The villagers… Maybe they have something to do with this." Leon thought to himself. And Zalty was slightly impressed that Lyon might have connected the dots, but that impression soon washed away when he spoke again.

"Alright… You three, tomorrow you'll go and destroy that village." Leon declared and Zalty smacked his forehead.

'This fool… Siegrain has my work cut out for this dumbass.' Zalty just sighed. Their plan to subdue that demon is already as good as dead since that man is here in this island.

'Her' life and their image in the council was much more important that that demon, who she was guessing was already half dead, but both of them were hoping for the best.

But now that Satoru Gojo was here, even if it was alive… 'Sigh… I'll just hope for the best and also hope this idiot doesn't fumble too hard.

What did that witch even see in this buffoon.' She thought about her mother as she looked at the one who called himself the Sub-Zero Emperor.

A while ago; back in the village:

Erza and the others had listened to the villagers' stories. According to the village elder Moka, they were all humans living peacefully in this village until one day the purple moon arose.

And they all had been cursed, turning them into demons. Moka explained his sob story of how he had to kill his own son Bobo, after he had apparently lost his mind.

They were shocked to hear the name see the picture of the man who had guided them to this island. Lucy and Gray even speculating that he might have been the ghost of Bobo.

Erza, despite finding no lies in the man's story, couldn't shake off a feeling that something was wrong. Even the purple moon in the sky seemed somewhat off.

And she couldn't blindside the suspicious feeling in her heart. Just when the village head had finished speaking, a loud explosion echoed from the other side of the island.

It shook the entire place a bit as birds flew over the village and the wildlife seemed to be in distress.

"Uh, what was that?" Lucy asked and Happy who was by her side just shrugged in confusion, but the tension was evident was in all of their eyes.

"Does that normally happen too?" Natsu asked.

Moka shook his head and Erza was about to speak, when they heard a voice, "Yo! You guys all good?"

It was Satoru who appeared in the middle of the village ground and walked towards them. The villagers were surprised and were alerted seeing the new face.

But they were confused as to why Satoru didn't seem to mind their appearance.

"He's with us." Gray assured them, motioning with his hand and they breathed a sigh of relief.

"Did you find something, Satoru? And that explosion just now, what happened?" Erza asked him.

"I did. I'll explain to you later. But first, brief me on the villagers' situation and why they think they have been cursed." He replied.

Later that night, inside one of the tents that villagers had prepared for them, Satoru and the others were discussing things.

"So, their curse started since the purple moon began to rise. And now they are requesting to destroy the moon." Satoru summed up what his friends just told him.

"Aye! That's exactly it." Happy happily confirmed.

It was Lucy, who said, "Aye nothing, cat. We can't obviously destroy the moon."

"True. Though, I guess I could do it, but then Earthland would be destroyed too." Satoru casually spoke.

"Please tell me you're just joking and what do you mean 'Earthland would be destroyed too'?" Lucy asked.

"It would. Moon's gravity keeps our planet as well as our seas stable." Satoru replied much to their confusion as to what he was saying.

"That's beside the point, if we destroy the moon, there won't be any moonlit night for us to enjoy." Natsu spoke as if he was stating the obvious.

Satoru chuckled as Natsu and Gray starting arguing again, since they shared different reasons why moon shouldn't be destroyed.

"Boys! We're getting off topic here. Enough with the jokes, Satoru. Tell us what you found." Erza spoke in a firm voice.

"I still have few things on speculation, right now. But there are a few groups of wizards performing a strange ritual, that collects the light from the moon.

I can't exactly tell right now, how it's making the moon glow purple, but I guess that's the reason why these villagers' memories have been altered." Satoru replied.

Erza frowned at his last statement and Happy asked, "Wait. What do you mean altered memory, Satoru?" He slowly walked towards him and Satoru picked him up in his arms.

"I'm sure Erza must have realized it too, haven't you?" He looked at her, patting Happy's head.

She nodded and the others were dead confused as to what they talking about. Gray, who had enough of thinking, finally asked, "What are you guys even talking about?"

Natsu and Lucy looked at them and Erza said, "The villagers aren't humans but demons, whose memories have been altered to think that they were humans."

"What?" Natsu, Gray, Lucy and Happy exclaimed at the same time.
