Capítulo 22: Chapter 22- surprise test
Hajin's pov*
Friday morning. I opened my eyes while in bed. My entire body started aching immediately.
20 Iron hogs and who knows how many black pelicans... No matter how much I thought about it, the monsters I hunted yesterday were too heavy. Along with hunting, I also found a new friend who helped me.
Well, she wouldn't have helped me if it weren't for the fact that I am keeping her secret. She even wanted to hunt more monsters, we could've faced a lot of problems if we made it back late.
Thankfully, we made it back before curfew. Otherwise, I and arin would have faced disciplinary punishment on top of minus points.
"Argh."
Fortunately, today was Friday, so there wasn't a class that required me to use my body. Getting up tiredly, I checked my smartwatch first. There were three unseen messages.

The payment was quicker and a lot more than I expected. If I remembered correctly, exclusive contracts had monthly payments. Mine must have been quick because it was a one-time deal. But still, to have them taken care of overnight... he sure was quick with his work. As expected of Park Soohyuk.
Thanks to Park Soohyuk, I now had something to do for the day. I could now open up a brokerage account and buy Packhorse Master guild's stock. One million won sounded like a good start.
Now, what to do with Arin. The way she.....he?..... how should I refer to Arin. I've been using female pronouns since I know that she's a girl. I guess I'll continue with that.
I walked into the shower with various thoughts in my head.
After washing away my remaining drowsiness with cold water, I dried myself, put on my cadet uniform, and headed out to class.
The first time I met Arin was, when she kicked the soda can, at that time she didn't know who I was nor did I know who she was.
The second time was during the class and the academic club's orientation. Although it was just small glances, i didn't pay any attention to her.
The third time was during the anti personnel training class, I just glanced at her arguing with chae nayun. She felt really suspicious that time~~~
"Hmm?,speak of the devil"
as i was thinking about Arin I saw her walking in front of me, mumbling something. Let's go have some fun shall we?
I ran over to her quietly and put my hand on her shoulder and cheerfully said
"hello arin~~"

Arin's pov*
"Mm, I got less money that I intended to. Was it because i accepted hajin and park soohyuk's request to stop. But i did make a lot of money by challenging hajin to a hunt off."

9,229,900 won is a normal amount, probably....
Just as i was thinking about the money someone just surprised me by almost strangling me. They put their hand on my shoulder and cheerfully said.
"hello arin~~"
It was hajin. He interrupted my thoughts by doing this. I wasn't expecting him to come at me like that. After what happened yesterday, I could very well say that we had become friends.
"what are you doing hajin?!"- I whispered to him.
"Is this how you treat your best friend who helps you to safeguard your secret? you know, being a little friendly won't hurt you."- Said hajin, feeling very sad and glum.
I knew it was just an act but, he did agree to keep it a secret, and besides I need him for the future. If you didn't already know, I didn't complete reading 'novel's extra'.
so I suppressed my anger and smilingly said.
"Why don't we leave for the class now? I'm sure we'll have a lot of time to chat~ "- I said
Hajin also agreed to the same but, I could see him snickering trying to hide his smile, as he walked in front of me.
'he did that on purpose, didn't he?'- I thought, as I walked with hajin.

Narrator's Pov*
"I hate this~!!"
"I know right???"
"how could they do this to us!!!"
"I know I said I don't like physical training classes but, i would prefer that over Phenomenon Realm Analysis class any time of the day."
Many cadets were whining about the most difficult theory class they were assigned instead of physical training. chae nayun was doing the same as kim suho, who sat next to her, just listened to her whining with a smile.
quietly talking and whispering to each other, arin and hajin walked into the class and sat at their respective seats. hajin sat in the corner of the middle bench as arin went behind him.
chae nayun glanced at them for a second but ignored them.
Once Hajin sat down he stopped talking as he turned to arin.
"Lets continue our talk after the class." - he said, as he just turned around fiddling with nothingness. Arin just nodded to it as, she understood that he was using his laptop to check his stats so she left him alone and did her own work.
hajin smiled as he fiddled with his invisible laptop. It seemed that he had gotten a little more stronger than the original, since he had used more of his power to keep up with Arin's craziness.
Arin didn't know why he was smiling so weirdly but, she ignored it as she got absorbed in her novel.
After a while. The professor walked in and said
"Sit down... There is a written exam today like I mentioned last time.
A test was announced out of the blue. Heartfelt groans erupted from the cadets. It seemed that no one knew about this.
Arin and hajin didn't exactly worry about it. They both had a system which will happily answer all of their questions. But Arin actually studied since her system was a bit more different. also because she knew all of this way before as, someone forced her into this.
"Really? I didn't study at all!"
In front of hajin, Chae Nayun muttered in despair. Kim Suho, who was sitting next to her, promptly showed her the notes he took down yesterday. Chae Nayun coughed in embarrassment. arin and hajin just watched all that happen quietly.
"Now, now, quiet down."
The professor silenced the cadets in a heartless tone before handing out the exam sheet. After a few scuffling sounds of paper, arin also received an exam sheet.
Problem 1. Describe the monster, 'Pygmalion'.
Problem 2. Describe the Nine Evils (Djinns).
Problem 3. State the attributes that humans can manifest in the Phenomenon Realm.
Problem 4....
arin got surprised. not because of the fact that the paper was hard but, it was rather easy. 'shouldn't the cadets be given a harder paper.' she thought .
what she didn't know was, that this paper was hard. even hajin agreed that it was hard, many cadets sighed the moment they glanced at the problems.

Slowly Arin finished her questions one by one, hajin did the same and so did the other cadets. Except, only hajin and Arin were writing it effortlessly. Arin made sure to leave some questions since she didn't want to stand out.
"...What? What happened?"- hajin murmured worriedly , but Arin didn't pay any attention and quickly finished her paper. She knew that hajin was going to ace the test with 1st place, making Rachel very jealous. Of his notebook that is....
