Capítulo 11: It seems like to be the case

Grisa and the others were surprised that Lian could do that so easily. "Y-you! Are you really someone who just entered this world?"

Lian looked at Grisa and nodded, replying, "I sure am. Why?"

"Why?" Grisa felt helpless. "I've never seen someone understand how to gather Star Energy so fast! Everyone here took years to get to the point you're at right now."

"Years?!" Carol and Duran also looked at Lian. "Are you cheating?"

Lian shook his head. Well, perhaps his ability to see and talk with his crown could be considered cheating, though... "Even if you ask me that, I just felt like it was simple. Gathering Star Energy. Don't you remember that I could also do that back when we were falling from the skies?"

"Oh!" Only then did Duran and Carol remember the ghost Lian talked about. "Could it be that the ghost is back?"

"No," Lian shook his head, saying, "However, I still remember the feeling I got back then. Now that I had read this manual, it simply felt obvious as to what I should do. Then again, I find it hard to explain how I can do that. It's like thinking, we can simply do that."

Tuly couldn't help but laugh out loud after hearing that. "Hahaha! So I was right!"

"Right?" Everyone looked at Tuly, clueless as to what was happening.

Tuly then got up and patted Lian's shoulder, telling him, "You could tell when the Lizak's attack was coming, so I thought you perhaps have a keen sense for Star Energy."

Following that, Tuly looked at Grisa and the others, asking, "Don't you remember? Some guys seem to be more sensitive to it. If I'm not wrong, the City Lord's son learned how to gather Star Energy in just a few days. Lian just so happens to be even more sensitive towards Star Energy."

Once Grisa heard that, she immediately remembered the kid from the City Lord's mansion. "Oh! That's true. The city lord even made a huge commotion because of how talented his son was. He even had the kid show it in public, saying that the future of Tuma City would be in the kid's hands."

Tuly nodded and looked back at Lian. "I've changed my mind. At first, I intended to let you guys fend for yourselves. However, I intend to let you join my group instead. How is it? If your talent is really as big as you showed, then you will catch up to our levels in no time. It will help a lot to have another Fire Element user in our team as we can use Fire Attack Formations."

Grisa, Hira, and the other two had their concerns. However, they had to admit they were curious about Lian's capabilities. Having more capable members was something they were always open to. Besides, Lian was a descender who had just arrived, so there was no risk of him being sent by someone else.

Lian, on the other hand, felt that Tuly was moving way too quickly. "Wait, wait, wait! Are you saying that you want me to go out and fight those beasts?! Are you crazy?!"

Duran and Carol nodded vigorously. That's correct! That was the right reaction! The three of them were just teachers about a day ago. How could any of them suddenly become warriors and risk their lives against these creatures? First of all, if Lian hadn't warned Tuly's group about the Lizak's attack, they would all be dead now.

However, Tuly shrugged his shoulders in response. "I don't think you have much choice here."

"Are you saying you're going to force me?" Lian asked back.

Grisa and the others laughed once they heard that. "Hahaha! Force you? Why? Hahaha! There's no need for that."

Tuly then wiped off a small tear from his eyes as he had been laughing too much already. Of course, Lian's group didn't look very happy either. "Alright, alright. Let me give you a quick explanation. Descenders have little to no chance of living in this world. At the very least, not in the region where we live. If you want to earn money, you'll have to go out and fight for it."

Lian found it hard to believe. "What about business? Shops, restaurants, services. Since there's a city available, there has to be a lot of jobs that pay for specific services."

Carol also added, "We're teachers, so if there are schools, we can also teach."

"Schools?" Tuly looked at Carol, confused. "What are those?"

Carol had a bad feeling as she explained, "You know, those places where kids go to learn many subjects. For example, I teach physics, Duran here teaches math, and Lian teaches chemistry."

Tuly pondered over it for a bit before saying, "I've never heard about these subjects before." He then looked at Grisa, Hira, and the others, asking them, "What about you?"

However, they all shook their heads. "No idea what they're talking about."

It was then that Lian remembered something. "Right! Tuly said that descenders have fallen from different worlds into this one. However, we know that it was the first time it happened on earth. Otherwise, we would have heard about such a crazy phenomenon like that before. That means... the other worlds might not even know what these subjects mean."

Duran agreed with Lian, saying soon after, "That's true. Tuly, math refers to the ability to count numbers. For example, one plus one equals two. Well, it has a lot more complicated things, but this is just a basic example."

"Do you need someone to teach someone how to count?" Grisa looked at Lian's group as if she was looking with scorn. "Everyone knows how to count numbers."

Duran's mouth twitched after hearing that. It was obvious that they completely underestimated what a mathematician could do. "Alright, I understand now. This is a world where education is severely lacking. All they know is how to read, write, and do basic math. Lian, Carol, you can forget about chemistry and physics. They won't understand shit!"

Lian and Carol sighed after hearing that. "It seems like that's the case."
