Ghost King, the name given to me by those who entered this dungeon like place to subdue me. They said they were Demons, the ruler of this city. Though that mattered little to me. You see, I am someone from another world, another life.
I don't remember what my life was like. It was probably good since I didn't like dying and I wanted to live. Or that might be a desire that any ghost has. As a ghost, for years, I kept circling the same building. I kept thinking why I couldn't leave that place and then one day I saw her. She was this cute little thing, waiting for the bus for school right outside her apartments, her mother was hiding right around the corner, watching her darling daughter.
I knew at that moment. I was there for them. I decided to stay there and stop trying to go out. Ironically, once I decided that, I kept getting pulled away. So, I struggled against that force to stay a little longer, just another day, and another. It seemed my greed as a human stayed the same even when I had become a ghost.
I figured since I was trying to stand against the force of…heavens? I think or whatever the afterlife craze for these days was, the other ghosts kept coming for me. It was fun, while my girl was in the school, I could sit here and spend my time dealing with the ghosts. FYI, whoever said that ghosts only appeared at night was a fool. In the silence of night, it becomes easier to sense them. Sure. But they are there as much in the day as they are in night.
First, one ghost appeared, and then two, and then they kept coming. Every time I beat them, I took on their last wishes, their desire to stay among the humans, that was when the force trying to pull me disappeared. Though it kept opening, again and again, after I helped the ghosts pass through. In return, they left all the shapes they had taken to stay and fulfil their desires in place of them.
I don't know what happened one day, maybe I stayed for far too long or I had absorbed too many ghosts, but the door of the place above opened one day. But this time, rather than taking me in, it pushed me. That totally took me by surprise. I had myself ready to fight against the pulling force. When I finally stopped. I realised I was in another city.
As a ghost, humans couldn't see me, so I went to an abandoned building and decided to make it my home. Once I started staying there, I naturally attracted all sorts of ghosts. Though there were other creatures who weren't humans. They were annoying, for sure. To protect myself, I spread my influence through the building, making it a part of me.
It was good that I decided to do that. I could change it to however I liked, but I left the dreadful, ghostly atmosphere on the lower floors that kept and drove most humans away. At the same time, the ghosts that I had taken inside of me they started to take form and roam around the building. Since they were mindless husks, I could take control of them, rather wear them like clothes.
The other problem was, ever since I came to this world, the ghosts and I had taken a more solid form. Day by day, we were becoming visible, and as we become solid, so did our desires. That was one trouble that I had to deal with, the other was these creatures from hell, shouting how he was in their city, and trying to take over, and what not.
There were days when I forced them to retreat, though recently, I had been thinking about teaching them all a lesson without going down. That's when I decided to change the first floor of the building, putting in traps all over the place, and finally place one of my Ghosts as a Boss. It was starting to become fun designing the floors as a game, and then the challenger came.
Though after defeating her, I didn't want to kill her. And recently, my desires and the desires of all the ghosts inside me were becoming overpowering, that is why seeing the woman who mentioned herself as the member of Gremory Peerage and a Demon, I decided that it was time to get some relief. I didn't want to go down and get killed if her back up came and so I decided to take over the Ghost on the first floor.
