Capítulo 17: A meeting 2~

When Amaterasu heard Sukuna's question, her barely visible smile disappeared and was replaced by a serious expression.

"While yes, but not really... We would also like to have few arrangements with your kingdom..." She paused for a moment and looked directly into Sukuna's eyes. What she saw there nerved her quite a little bit. She saw that his eyes were filled with madness, while still maintaining it with ease, and even dominating over it. She hasn't seen anyone before that could control their own madness. "I hope this is a mutual feeling. I know that there is no trust between our factions, but I hope that this could be fixed later on."

"Hahaha. As expected of gods, they really are smarter than humans. I have really no objection for this pact, but I have a few demands. While I'm usually not going for concessions, I will make this time an exception." He had a calculative smile on his lips right now that sent shivers down the spines of humans.

"First, I want so that no one from Three Japanese Factions would intervene with my politics and affairs, be it inside or outside of my kingdom." He asked that while looking at Amaterasu. She thought about it for a moment.

"That would be doable. Though, if those affairs or politics would harm people on our side, we would naturally make necessary moves." She said after a while.

"That's given. I also won't intervene with your politics. I think that's what you want the most, right?" Sukuna asked, to which he got only a nod.

"The second is not really a demand, but more like I want to make myself clear. I don't control all Cursed Spirits and Curse Users. While I do control most of them, some individuals didn't join my kingdom. Also, Curses that manifested not long ago, and go on a rampage somewhere in your lands, are naturally not any of my concerns. While we try to recruit as many of them as we can, there still might be someone hiding." Sukuna said with a casual tone. It would be extremely annoying if people started accusing him of something that he didn't do.

"That's understandable. We also have some stray Yokai and humans that tend to wreak chaos everywhere. So, is that all, or there is something else?" Amaterasu asked.

"Nothing really important. I want information about me and my kingdom to be classified till I reveal it myself. I hope that this–." Sukuna was about to end his sentence when he was interrupted by one of the leaders of Five Principal Clans.

"Don't you ask for too much?!" He yelled at Sukuna with a voice that was filled with hatred and arrogance. Sukuna's expression turned in that of disdain.

"I could ask same about you, trash. What would you be without a Shinto Pantheon? A crawling maggot, that anyone could step on? Don't get full of yourself with such measly power of yours, fool." Sukuna said with a cold voice.

"Do you–" Same Five Principal Clan leader wanted to say something more but stopped when he got a fierce glare from Amaterasu. "I apologize on my behalf for my subordinate's behavior." She said towards Sukuna.

"That's fine. Humans mostly have short temper. I hope that my demands are to your liking. If it's all that you wanted, then I would like to sign a pact and leave. I still have the stuff to do." Sukuna said with a casual look.

"Sure, we have no objections. But if I may, can I ask you one question?" Amaterasu asked curiously while glancing at Tamamo. Sukuna saw where this was going, so he just said: "Go ahead, but make it quick."

Amaterasu's eye twitched in irritation at his behavior for a moment, but she quickly dismissed this and asked her question: "Could we know, what is a Nine-Tailed Fox, doing as your assistant?... And why does she have divinity?" Tamamo was a bit surprised that Amaterasu could sense her divinity, even if she tried to hide it. When Amaterasu saw a genuine surprise on Tamamo's face, she said: "I have been living for long enough, and I can sense gods miles away, even if you are trying to hide it."

Sukuna wasn't even the least bit surprised that she asked this question. Also, this goddess was probably even stronger than him, so her sensing Tamamo's divinity wasn't that huge surprise. He then answered her question: "I made her a deal when she was about to die from an army of humans and a group of sorcerers. It was like... 10 years ago? About divinity, it should be rather obvious." With those last words said, he signaled to Tamamo to take out all that is needed for a pact.

Amaterasu's curiosity wasn't satisfied with that short answer, but for the sake of a non-aggression pact, she dismissed it, at least for now.

Tamamo waved her hand towards the table, and a paper appeared on it. She quickly wrote down all points, that was explained in the meeting with magic, and sent it to Amaterasu. She quickly read through all arrangements that were written down and signed it with her own small droplet of blood. She then gave it to each leader of Five Principal Clans, and to Youkai leaders, who did the same. The paper then was given back to Sukuna, who read it through as well and then signed it with his own blood.

The Paper then was torn into two parts. One was given to Amaterasu, while the second part was given to Sukuna.

"It was rather a profitable meeting. I hope that there will be more gatherings like this in the future." Sukuna said those words with a huge smile. Tamamo then flicked her fingers, and then Sukuna's group teleported away.

"It was rather quick, huh..." Amaterasu muttered under her breath.

"Amaterasu-sama, was it really a goddess? I find it hardly believable that any god would join such monster like him, much less low herself to be one of his assistants." One leader of Five Principal Clans said.

"It is indeed strange, but I can surely tell that she is a goddess. But I haven't heard that some god went missing recently, especially a Nine-Tailed Fox. Hmm... Inari, could you please check our archives later? Maybe we could try to find some information on this Tamamo-no-Mae. I'm sure I heard this name before, but can't remember exactly where." She then pondered for a while, but still couldn't remember. Amaterasu then proceeded to stand up and said towards all others: "Then, for now, our meeting ends. I hope that all of you will naturally follow the rules that were made here. We don't want for another Purge to happen in the area of Japan." With those words said, she, Inari, and Susanoo teleported away.

Hayami then spoke up: "Don't disappoint Amaterasu-sama. I know that you want to do something to their kingdom, but now that we made an official pact with his kingdom, we can't do anything against them. I hope that you all understand." She glared towards the others and then proceeded to teleport away with Nurarihyon following her.

"Tsk... To think that we would really do it..." An old man grumbled. A magic circle appeared under his feet and then he disappeared from the spot he was standing on, just like the others.

Soon after, all followed his suit, till only one remained. He looked towards the rising sun and sighed.

"Why those old men are always so stubborn?... They wouldn't stand even a chance against this monster, and yet they want to fight with him... Haah~ I wonder if he would gain even more strength than he has now, would he obliterate us as well...?" Finally releasing all his thoughts that his head had been gathering past days, he teleported back to his clan.

The Cursed Kingdom, Central Palace

10 people appeared inside the palace.

Sukuna turned towards the guards and said: "You all are dismissed for now." After he said that, the guards bowed respectfully, and left the palace. He then called for Kenjaku: "Kenjaku, call others. We are going to discuss and make plans for the future." Kenjaku then bowed with his casual smile on his lips, and went into the depths of the palace, to call for Uraume and Makino.

Sukuna started slowly walking towards the meeting room, while Tamamo was tagging along. After walking in silence for a few minutes, she couldn't help but ask: "Was Amatereasu stronger than you?" She was really curious about his answer. She knew that Sukuna was strong, but he never showed his full strength. Amaterasu was also really strong, being the strongest being she has met so far.

"Hmm... I'm not sure, but... Even if it hurts for me to say this, she probably has more chances against me. She has divinity of the sun, thus she has a natural advantage towards such species as Cursed spirits and Yokai's. But who knows..." Sukuna truthfully answered. Even though he took a pride in his strength, he knew that there are beings far stronger than him.

"Hmm, is that so?..." Tamamo thought that even if for a little bit, Sukuna was now more close to her than he was in the past. And that thought made her really happy inside. She then proceeds to walk with Sukuna to the meeting room, while humming happily.

A few hours later

After adjusting plans with others, Sukuna left for a walk. He was right now contemplating all plans, searching for possible loopholes, that someone might use against him.

He also was wondering really hard about something. A few years ago, he felt 'something'. It wasn't really power nor it was some kind of power that he has felt before, but something else, though it resembled some kind of energy. It wasn't really harmful to him, on the contrary, it felt like it was adjusting to his body and strangely... his soul.

Even though he isn't really proficient with souls, he knows a thing or two. It seems like this 'energy' tries to somehow strengthen his soul, but as he was observing those changes, he noticed that this progress is really slow. By his calculations, for any drastic change, it would need possibly a hundred years, if not more.

But for now, he dismissed those thoughts about 'it'. Even though he doesn't like when he doesn't know what happens around him or especially to something important like his body or soul, he has no means to actually control it, for now at least. Not like it brings harm to him, so even fewer reasons to care about it for now.

"Haah~ Should I just turn into a cursed object already and end it all? It seems like I was right from the very beginning. In this world the more strength you have, the better it is..."
