"Are you sure you are feeling fine, Son?"
It was not the first time Mother had asked me this question in the last ten minutes since I woke up.
"I am fine, Mother. Just feeling slightly tired. Now that I have had breakfast, I will be fully healthy after some rest. I believe I will be perfectly able to join you and Father for Lunch."
Similarly, my response wasn't much different from what I have already said to Mother quite a few times already.
With a reluctant face, Mother nodded and kissed my forehead before leaving my room.
As the room's door closed, I slumped on the bed in exhaustion.
Three days ago, while playing in the woods surrounding our mansion, I was bitten by a poisonous spider and fell unconscious.
Thankfully, the spider was just a pseudo-Hell Beast, just slightly stronger with more potent poison than the ones found in the Human World.
The enchantment on my ring, which tracks my health and location, was linked to another ring that Mother had.
Hence, she was informed of my condition the moment I fell unconscious and quickly arranged for doctors to examine my condition.
They were able to detoxify the poison without any problems and then, it took three days for my body to recover and regain consciousness.
When I chose to have the memories of my past life unlocked a week before my 7th birthday, through a small incident that would leave me incapacitated for a day or two, I didn't anticipate it unfolding in the way it did.
Well, the main purpose of doing it in such a way was to ensure that there would be no disorientation or conflict between the memories of my two lives.
I could state with full confidence that everything went according to the plan.
Moving on, it was time to check my Status.

There were several more skills at the end, but they were unimportant for now. Skills like Etiquette, Politics, Dancing, etc.
Leaving those aside, I am one powerful little Devil at just 6, almost 7, years old.
I am Meliodas Valefor. Son of Markus Valefor and Mariana Valefor nee Zagan.
Both of them are High-Class Devils in rank. In terms of power, Father is at the Low-Ultimate Class power-wise while Mother is at the Peak of High-Class.
Before my birth, both of them were the only members of their respective Houses.
If both of them didn't inherit the Clan Traits of their respective Houses, the Devil Council, specifically the Great King Faction, would have happily declared both of the Houses Extinct.
Anyway, as the child of two High-Class Noble Devils, my rank is also High-Class from birth.
When I become 10 years old, I will be qualified to receive my own Evil Pieces and form my Peerage, even if I didn't inherit either of my parents' Clan Traits.
After all, the only requirement to have your own Peerage was that the Devil had to be High-Class in Rank.
Well, with my Essences, the problem of not inheriting Clan Traits was not a problem at all.
Even before the awakening of my previous life's memories, the Essences were accessible to me. At 1% of their power.
Well, at least the Essence of the Blank and Archmage were. Essence of the Binder was fully locked until my memories awakened.
This was something I had requested to be done when I decided on the process of unlocking my memories. I didn't want to screw up by doing something I wouldn't do while having all of my memories.
The most important reason I wanted my memories to unlock at almost 7 years old was so that I would be able to enjoy childhood as a Devil and forge meaningful connections with my new parents.
Having my previous life memories would have definitely hindered the process.
Anyway, at 1% power, although the Archmage Essence allowed me to learn any magic, no matter how unique, it took a really long time to do it.
The Valefor Clan Trait was Power over Mind.
The Clan Trait boosts the power and the learning and mastery rate of mind-related spells or skills by a substantial degree.
Everyone in the Supernatural World is required to know spells like [Hypnosis], [Memory Alteration], etc. to keep the Supernatural hidden from the mundane Humans.
However, spells like these are almost useless against Ultimate-Class beings or above. Even High-Class beings are extremely difficult to influence with these spells.
The internal energies of individuals, whether it's Magic Power, Demonic Power, Holy Power, Life Force, or others, naturally protect them from such spells.
Although extremely strong Gods like the Primordial Goddess Nyx can forcefully brainwash Ultimate-Class beings, even a Half-Devil like Ingvild, who had miniscule control over her Demonic Power, could resist such brainwashing.
Just because Ingvild had Leader-Class reserves.
This was what makes the Valefor Clan Trait special.
With this Clan Trait, my father, who is just at Low-Ultimate Class in terms of power, is capable of affecting even the minds of Mid to Peak-Ultimate Class beings.
He didn't need to be overwhelmingly stronger than his opponents to affect their minds.
He works in the Military, directly under Falbium Asmodeus, as the head of the Torture and Information Department, a job that would normally demand the head to be at least Ultimate-Class in power.
He is about the same age as the New Satans and even fought in the Civil War under Falbium Asmodeus. This was the privilege he gained due to the Valefor Clan Trait.
Another extremely important benefit of the Valefor Clan Trait is that it provides passive immunity against mind or spiritual attacks.
Even saying God or hearing the verses of the Bible doesn't affect us in the least bit.
In my opinion, only the Zagan and Bael Clan Trait are equal or better than the Valefor Clan Trait. Maybe Bune Clan Trait too, because Dragonification is fucking cool.
The Zagan Clan Trait was Life Manipulation.
It basically allows the user to manipulate the Life Energy of anything and everything depending on the power of the user.
Mother, having the strength of Peak-High Class, is extremely adept at manipulating the Life Energies of plants and animals. Even Demonic variants.
She doesn't like fighting, or else, she could have been a master of Touki and Senjustu and easily became a Peak-Ultimate Class being with the help of the Zagan Clan Trait.
The Zagan Clan is a King ranked Noble Pillar Devil Clan. The only one with a higher rank is the Bael Clan.
And the one to bestow this rank upon the Zagan Clan was Lucifer himself, the original one.
All because the first Zagan was an absolute beast on the battlefield, a master of both Touki and Senjutsu.
He was capable of absorbing the Life Force of everything in the vicinity and enhancing himself to the level of Original Satans for a limited amount of time.
The only reason he didn't live past the Great War was because he was present when the Heavenly Dragons Albion and Ddraig entered the battlefield of the Three Factions.
When the Three Factions formed a temporary truce to deal with the Heavenly Dragons, the first Zagan was one of the combatants at the forefront of the battle.
He was able to hold on against Ddraig for some time, however, that changed when both of the Heavenly Dragons entered Outrage mode and caused tremendous casualties among the Three Factions.
The first Zagan also perished on that day, not even lasting more than a few seconds against an Outraged Ddraig.
After that, no Zagan came close to achieving strength close to the First Zagan.
I learned all of this from the epic written about the first Zagan that I found in our library and Father's bragging about his job and family history sometimes.
While Father kept himself busy with Military affairs, Mother delved into the agriculture business.
The majority of the territories of the Valefor and Zagan Clans had been converted into fertile lands suitable for growing and raising a variety of crops and livestock.
From the time Mother married Father, which was a few hundred years ago, she was responsible for all the business side of both Clans.
Right now, the Valefor-Zagan Clans is the biggest provider of food for the Devils.
The meaning of this is that we are insanely rich. Not at the level of Phenex Clan, however, we are rich enough to donate enough money to help all the Pillar Clans, that are declared extinct due to monetary issues, regain their status and still be among the top 5 richest Clan of the Devil Society.
The only reason this hadn't been done till now was that we weren't strong enough to withstand the backlash of such a move, I think.
Well, this will change in the near future. Hopefully.
Still, the Phenex Clan is even richer than us, huh! That's just mind-blowing.
I can now understand why Zeoticus Gremory was willing to go against Sirzechs, the strongest Devil ever, and marry Rias to Riser in the Canon.
Back to my Status Interface.
The letters next to the Clan Traits and Skills denote their rank. The comparison for this was automatically downloaded in my brain the moment I opened the Status.
F corresponds to Low Class, E to Mid Class, D to High Class, C to Ultimate Class, and B for Leader Class beings like Serafall, Azazel, Micahel, etc.
A- to A for beings like Sun Wukong, Hades, Sirzechs, Ajuka, and the Heavenly Dragons at their full strength. Indra and Thor could be ranked at A+ level.
Yahweh, Brahma, and Vishnu of the Trimurti could be ranked at S- rank with Shiva at S rank.
Great Red, Ophis, and Trihexa are all S+ rank beings, the strongest existence of the DxD world.
Although I didn't get any knowledge about the strength level of the ExE Gods, if they exist here, on the account of them being stronger than Great Red, they could be classified as at least Ex Rank, I think.
Anyway, let's not think about that far into the future just yet.
As listed in the Status Interface, my Valefor Clan Trait barely qualifies for the High-Class level at the moment.
Even then, with my Peak-High Class Demonic Power reserves and the boost provided by my Clan Trait to mind spells, I can affect the minds of most High-Class beings.
My Zagan Clan Trait, on the other hand, is at the Peak of Mid-Class level.
As I only had Mother to teach me about the usage of the Zagan Clan Trait till now, I mostly focused on things like controlling the Life Force of plants in various ways.
Like draining the Life Force of plants and then storing them inside by body temporarily before using them to increase the quality of other plants and the rate at which they grow.
Apart from learning ways to better utilize the power of my Clan Traits, I have also been trained in using essential skills like [Basic Elemental Magics], [Basic Weapon Mastery], and [Unarmed Combat Mastery] after I turned 6 years old.
Every member of the Pillar Clans and Extra Demon Clans is trained in various basic skills after they become 8 years old.
In my case, even with the Archmage Essence working at only 1%, I was considered a genius.
This resulted in Mother and Father concluding that I was ready to start my training at just 6 years of age. Well, more like Father decided and then convinced Mother to go along with his plan.
Anyway, now that I have taken a look at my Status, I am ignoring the blank Peerage and Binder Marked column, it's time to start planning for my future.
