Blanche activated an additional skill, one that played an important role in delivering Edward to Trunkus.

“Damage Link!” Blanche must select a target to activate this skill which allowed him to take all damage from the target. It consumed 1 SP per minute, and the target of such a useful skill was…obviously Edward.
