Capítulo 150: Ch. 150: Immortal Master Raika (2)
It'd been two days since Goku began his meditation, and honestly, he still didn't know whether this was going to work or not. The idea he'd come up with was to fill the entire area with a dense amount of his energy in hopes that he'd find some weakness or chink that he could escape from. This was a test, after all. There needed to be some way to get out of there, he'd figured.
But if it was a test, it wasn't a simple one. In his normal state, his energy was just enough to give him a good grasp of the area, but no part of his aura was able to escape the ten-kilometer-long box. Instead, it just pressed against itself at the edges as even it was teleported from one edge to another, pressed in by the ground and an invisible barrier high up in the atmosphere.
"Alright. This is it! HAAAA!" With a long shout, Goku tried to go Super Saiyan to try to output enough power to destroy the barriers keeping him in, like he'd failed in doing multiple times already. The problem was anger, or desperation, he'd realized over the last couple days. He didn't have enough of it right now. He'd only managed to go Super Saiyan twice. Once after Hanna had died, and the second time while on the verge of death himself. That was what he'd been missing.
With all of his suppressed, Saiyan rage channeled through his energy, Goku finally managed to go Super Saiyan. The surge in energy was intoxicating, Goku could feel it in the air. The pressure suddenly exploded, but it still wasn't enough to destroy the barriers surrounding him. He screamed as his energy peaked, then dropped like a stone.
Over the next two days, Goku didn't once fail to go Super Saiyan. Now that he knew how to do it at will, it had turned into something almost second nature to him. Finally, on the last day, Goku finally managed to move the barrier with his energy... just a little bit. The moment he stopped exerting his energy in it, though, it went back to normal as he nearly passed out from energy overuse.
"Good job. You passed my test." As Goku woke up, Raika, already kneeling in front of him, congratulated him.
"I couldn't get out..." Goku muttered the first thing that came to his mind.
"Of course not. You're an idiot. But still, you were on to something, and that's all I asked. With enough time to get stronger, you probably would have eventually escaped." Raika told him. He extended a hand to Goku. "You know, I can make you stronger. Just grab my hand, and I'll teach you everything that you need to know."
Without hesitation, Goku took the Yardratian's hand. Suddenly, the scenery changed around them. Goku found himself in a space that reminded him of the Hyperbolic Time Chamber back on Earth, desolate and white, it seemed to go on forever, except for the giant mansion in the center of the space. Surrounding the mansion was a large wall, inside of which seemed to be a garden.
"Whoa! Where are we?!" Goku asked Raika beside him.
"Where are we, Master?" Raika reprimanded the Saiyan.
"Where are we, Master?" Goku repeated diligently. He'd agreed to learn from the Yardratian, so he'd decided to treat him like he'd treated any of his other teachers in the past, with respect despite the fact that the man's strength was still a complete mystery.
"You've never seen a house before?" Raika joked to Goku, "By the time you leave here, you'll be able to do it on your own, because I'm not helping you with that."
"So I'm stuck here, too?" Goku wondered aloud.
"Yes." Raika immediately answered.
"Okay, then... So what do you want me to do?" Goku asked the Yardratian as they walked through the mansion's outer gate.
"Let me be clear on something. I'm not going to teach you how to throw a punch, or a kick. What I'm going to teach you is all about technique. I'm going to teach you the art of True Spirit Control."
"And it'll make me stronger?" Goku asked.
"Right now, you're... a bull. Powerful, but lacking in control. My teachings could turn you into a sword, with a needle-sharp edge. I can't do anything to enhance the strength that you currently possess." Raika explained to the Saiyan.
"I see... You're right... I can barely control Super Saiyan at all, the power is just too much." Goku agreed with Raika, "Please teach me this Spirit Control." Goku asked.
"Alright. Then you'll have to do exactly as I say." Raika told Goku.
"Got it!" As Goku answered him, Raika made a small motion with his neck and the two suddenly reappeared in front of the mansion once again. "Whaa?" Goku made a confused noise as the scenery changed. He was still not quite used to that. It definitely didn't help that Raika didn't have any 'tells' to help Goku figure out when they were about to teleport. They just moved.
"Okay, now, I want you to use that Super Saiyan thing."
"Sure." With a shout, Goku went Super Saiyan according to Raika's instruction.
"Now, punch me." Raika Told the Super Saiyan.
"Are you sure?" Goku hesitated, "I'm pretty strong, you know. I don't want to hurt you." In response, Raika punched Goku in the face himself.
"WHAAABHGLASHRRG!?" Screaming something incomprehensible, Goku flew through the air face-first, spitting blood despite being in his Super Saiyan mode. The most comical thing about it was the fact that Raika was teleporting him over and over again as he flew through certain areas, so Goku was just flying overhead repeatedly, until finally, his momentum died down and he fell to the ground.
"Okay..." Goku muttered, picking himself off of the ground unsteadily, spitting out the blood in his mouth.
"Well... Different cause, same result. I wanted you to do that to yourself, but whatever works. Here you go, your food for the entirety of your training period." With a shrug, Raika tossed a small bag at Goku, who caught it.
"Seeds?" The Saiyan asked, annoyed by Raika's training methods.
"Dewberry seeds. They used to grow on Yardrat when I was a child. They're officially extinct nowadays. There's a garden out back. Good luck." With that, Raika vanished, leaving Goku alone in front of a huge mansion.
