Ruth Dawn's brows were tightly knit, wanting nothing to do with Peter; she poured herself a drink and gulped it down.

Her throat burned, her quick drinking leading to a severe coughing fit.

Seeing that Ruth paid him no mind, Peter wasn't in a hurry, he just smiled slightly, "Let me guess, hmm, it's because of that gentleman just now, isn't it?"

"I also noticed, while you were dancing with me, your gaze kept unintentionally drifting over to him."

"Is he the man you like? But I saw him with a pregnant woman, what is he to you?"

"Your boyfriend?"

"Lover?"

"Or perhaps, husband?"

When Peter reached this point, Ruth barked sharply, "Shut up!"

Peter's smile broadened, "I understand now, he's your husband."

"How strange, such a beautiful woman you are, why would your husband still seek pleasures elsewhere?"

"Seek other women? Is the child in that woman's womb, your husband's?"
