Capítulo 11: Chapter 11
Sorry that this update took so long. I've been stuck on how to play out the next scenes. I've updated and added to this chapter. Enjoy.
"Agumon digivolve too...Greymon."
Niximon stares in bewilderment as Agumon grows and transforms; "Da Da?"
Yulin is shocked as well; "I thought you weren't a mage?"
"I'm not;" replies Tai; "This isn't magic, or at least not your type of magic."
The Tracker also seems to be shocked at Agumon's transformation, but quickly gets over it and attacks. Greymon dodges the trunk and headbutts the Tracker, the hits him with Nova Blast, which gives off the most awful smell. Tracker shakes it off and uses his acid tar, which clashes with another Nova Blast and explodes, both monsters losing their balance and causes terrible oil-like flumes that seem to be expanding and giving everybody watery eyes.
"Greymon;" yells Katherine; "Don't mix tar with fire."
"Got it." Greymon gets back up and avoids the next blast of tar, then attacks again with his tail. While that's happening, Katherine's scream is heard.
"KAT?" Tracker takes advantage of the distraction and hits Greymon hard. The boys heard the screams and are horrified to see black fire surrounding her. Yulin looks and realizes his brother is no longer there. Niximon jumps off Tai's shoulders and bounces for the fire. Tai runs after her, but Greymon falls in front of him. Tai asks his partner if he needs to digivolve.
"No Tai, I can take him."
Nixie jumps through the black flames and sees Flunky with his arms around her partner's neck, chocking her as her face turns blue; "Give me the amulet you little torp. OUCH!"
Nixie slaps Flunky in the face, he still won't release her partner; "You (beep) pipsqueak of a shrimp, I'm going to terminate you once and for all."
He shots a fireball at Nixie while he's talking, yet she avoids it and glows, transforming into a slightly larger version of her baby form with a more slender body and two very tiny fins in the middle.
"Oh I'm impressed, your just a very slightly bigger shrimp, OWF!"
Niximon hits him with more strength than before and blows lots of bubbles into his face, forcing him to let go of Katherine. As Nixie catches her partner, Flunky wipes the soapy water from his eyes and summons his grimoire, using his Aufwachen Dachs and almost gets them when the attack gets blocked by Greymon's tail.
"You want to play with me shorty?"
"Da Da!" Nixie jumps unto his shoulder and looks at Flunky with fierce eyes. The mage is quivering with fear and tried to summon another spell only for Katherine to hit him from behind, causing him to fall face down into a puddle of water.
"Greymon, it's getting up again;" informs Tai; "we've got this guy."
"Roger;" Greymon responds; "Kat, you're with me. Baby..."
Greymon looks towards his shoulder only to see that Nixie has digivolved again, a little bigger and resembling a lite purple sea dragon.
"Okay, Baby your with us."
"Roger Da Da."
"Da Da?" ask a perplexed Tai as he and Izzy tie up Flunky and Yulin gets his brother's grimoire.
"Long story;" replies Izzy.
The tracker has finished getting dirt out of his trunk and gets ready to charge at Greymon again, only to get hit with a nova blast. Eager to see what rookie Niximon can do but not put her in danger, he tells her to attack while he's still down and not get too close.
"Roger." She flies off Greymon's shoulder and stays a few feet from the tracker. "Sabao Mist." A misty fog appears around the monster, large and thick enough to abstract his vision and even immobilize him a little. Greymon's impressed, as is her partner.
"Not bad Baby. Kat, your up. Both of you got this."
Katherine's eyes widen; "Are you sure?"
"Yes, do it."
The amulet shines brightly as a water ball forms from Katherine's hand, words mysteriously come to her mind; "Sea Dragon's Waterball." This time, she has better control of the technique and traps the tracker. Nixie flies up to the water ball and touches it with her long sea dragon nostril; "Sabao Double Freeze." The water ball turns to ice, although not completely solid and a little leaky. Katherine then manipulates the ball around with great force, and Greymon gives it a final touch with the strongest Nova Blast he can muster, causing a semi expulsion, injuring the monster and knocking him out.
Tai's jaw drops as he watches. Did he really just see that giant water ball come not from a digimon, but Katherine? He just can't believe it and doesn't know how many more surprises he can take.
"Oh my!" shouts an exited Yulin;" You're one of us little girl! So that mana I've been feeling came from you. I can't believe it! You're raw power alone must already be a stage 7 or even 6, very advanced for your age. With that amulet, that attack must have been..."
"SHUT UP (BEEP)!" shouts Flunky; "Those are trade secrets you worm..." Nixie appears in front of him and freezes his mouth shut, then slaps him so hard he's knocked unconscious yet again.
"Good riddance;" says Tai as he runs to his partner and looks up at him with tears in his eyes; "Agumon, don't ever scar me like that again!" He hugs Greymon's leg, who's sniffing too; "I'm sorry Tai, I was just trying to help."
"I know. You can relax..."
They hear Tracker wake up and sneeze. He comes directly towards Greymon and Katherine, who brace themselves. However, instead of attacking, Tracker actually seems to be bowing to them.
"What?" says both Tai and Greymon.
"Is that thing, surrounding?" ask Izzy.
"Oh I forget;" says Yulin; "the tracker's programed to submit when it's defeated. He'll serve them now."
"Are you sure about that?"
"I'm sure." The tracker then sneezes water from it's trunk, drenching Greymon; "Thanks a lot." Then he passes out from exhaustion.
Izzy takes out the cub. "Alright, now, tell me how to get Tentomon out of here."
Yulin lowers his eyes; "I'm sorry, but I don't know."
"Well you'd better help me figure it out..."
Nixie flies up to the cub, then Katherine's digivice starts glowing. She holds it beside her digimon as Nixie glows and touches the cub. It dissipates and Tentomon reappears. "Finally, I'm out!"
"TENTOMON!" Izzy and his partner embraces tightly; "I was scared you might have been hurt."
"Not hurt, just squished and claustrophobic."
Yulin realizes that he feels mana coming from this creature. Is it possible...
"TAI! GREYMON!"
"KATHERINE!"
Everybody looks up to see Nina, Yolie, Rico and Oscar riding on Hasemon, along with Kari and Angewoman. Nina immediately runs to her niece and hugs her tightly as soon as they land.
"Katherine darling, I was so afraid;" Nina kisses her niece repeatedly with tears in her eyes.
"I'm alright Aunt Nina," Katherine has tears in her eyes too; "I've got so much to tell you."
Nina then notices Nixie looking at them; "Is that..."
A big crash is heard. Angewoman had approached Greymon and gave him a good pounding. "Guess I deserved that;" he says.
At first, Oscar barks at Greymon, but then recognizes the smell and calms down.
"Well well;" greets Rico; "So your alright after all. It would've survey you right after getting yourself captured Agumon."
Greymon blows warm smoke on Rico; "Serves you right. Remember, you still owe me 20 extra large pizzas and 6 gallons of ice cream."
Rico is agitated; "I haven't forgotten you overgrown glutton. And it was 5 gallons we agreed on, not 6."
"How about 7." Greymon feels Gatomon, back in her champion form, claw him, falling down again and shrinking back into his rookie form.
"Get your priorities straight meatball brain."
Niximon flies in front of Rico and Gatomon, looking furiously at them.
"She can do that to me Baby;" assures Agumon; "She's practically my sister."
Gatomon's eyes widen; "Who's this?"
"I Nixie."
"What kind of a name is that?" ask Rico.
"I gave it to her;" Katherine arrives leading her aunt; "Aunt Nina, this is Niximon, my new partner."
Rico's mouth drops wide open, Gatomon's amazed, and Nina just stares in awe, and somewhat shocked. Nixie floats up to Nina's face and kisses her cheek; "Aunt Ni Ni, I Nixie."
Nina huffs; "Guess she's coming home with us. I sure hope this one doesn't eat like Agumon."
Several growling sounds are heard, the digimon, along with Tai and some of the others, are hungry. Everyone agrees they should take a break and replenish their energy, yet Tai remembers that Matt, Gabumon, Davis, and Veemon are still missing and that their break should be short.
"What about him?" ask Izzy staring at the tracker.
"He just ate 3 days ago;" answers Yulin; "He should be fine for another week or two."
Several present gasps hearing that. The digimon, whom can barely go a few hours without eating, can't imagine such a thing, especially Agumon.
"What?" says Yulin; "He's cold-blooded."
Everybody goes back into the store to rest and for the most part, eat. Nixie watches the other digimon eat but is content with a small bowl of milk. Oscar goes crazy between barking at the tracker, who remains asleep outside, barking at Flunky, who openly has an extreme disgust towards dogs, and wanting some of the 'human' food. Rico finds some dog food, but Oscar remains more interested in human (and digimon) scraps.
As everything that has happened comes to light, Katherine asks her aunt if she knew about her powers.
"Yes sweetheart, I believe you were born with them."
Katherine gasps. "Why didn't you ever tell me?"
"I tried several times, but you didn't want to hear about it, remember, so I never pushed the issue. Your grandmother and great-grandmother also had magical powers over water. They were very powerful indeed, but it seemed to skip a generation with me and your mother."
This astounds the girl, as everybody else with the exception of the other two mages. Yulin then explains the mage ranking stages, 10 being the lowest and 0 supposedly being the highest, although there's a couple of even rarer stages called arcane and elite, both outside the normal ranges of power and the strongest and otherworldly stages. Yulin explains that Katherine's raw power is already at stage 6, quite advanced for her, and that based on that last attack, the amulet must have enhanced her ability to stage 5 or even lower 4. While most adults in their prime will never rise above stage 3, Katherine may have the potential to go all the way to 1, maybe even 0 in a few years.
"By the way, that amulet is a training tool that merely enhances your abilities, but eventually you won't need it anymore. And in a few years, usually around age 15, you'll get your on grimoire."
"You didn't get yours until 19!" says Flunky, still restrained; "Shows just how pathetic and weak you really are."
Tai's so furious hearing that he almost punches the guy, Kari urging him not to.
"That's no way to talk your brother, no wonder he has no self-esteem."
"I can treat my brother however I want. Besides, that amulet is MINE!"
"You stole it from a pawn broker;" replies Yulin; "and you only got your grimoire last year."
"And he's how old?" ask Yolie.
"Don't you dare answer that!"
Yulin answers anyway; "He's 23."
"I warned you!"
"Will somebody please gag that guy?" ask Hawkmon
Rico takes the honor and stuffs a sock into Flunky's mouth; "Wait a minute, your and brother used to peddle in my neighborhood with your pathetic magic tricks then go spend the money on booze and hookers."
"We spent the money on beer, not hard booze;" informs Yulin; "We never pay hookers with money and we spent some of it on crackers and the occasional protein bars."
Hawkmon makes a face; "Ew, that sure sounds like a very satisfying diet."
"We get leftover scrapes on occasional."
"I just realized something;" says Tai; "Where's T.K. and Patamon?"
"They went with a military unit to the woods;" answers Yolie; "Something about activity at an abandoned military fortress."
Yulin gasps; "I completely forgot! They're letting out the big guns!"
"You mean there's worse monsters then we've already been fighting?" ask Izzy.
"Audreys twice the size and strength of those earlier ones. The worst weapon is It."
Tai springs to his feet; "Tell us about it on the way. Everybody ready?"
"As ready as I'll ever be Tai;" replies Agumon. The other digimon are ready as well. With his magic recovered, Yulin leads the way as the digimon digivolve and follow suite. On the way, Nixie senses Tai's injured ankle and kisses it, healing it.

Davis and Matt are hanging from the cave ceiling wrapped up in sticky spider-webs, which had come from a strange item that Sally used. For some reason, their mouths were left partly uncovered. They had seen about nine Audrey plants taller and bulkier than any of their digimon in their largest sizes being released. These plants seemed meaner and even more savage than any of the previous ones, and Yoshi and Sally made sure they were out of the way as the plants made their way out of the cave. A couple of them seemed to stop and look at the teen boys but seemed uninterested and walked right past them.
"Maybe we're too small for them to bother with;" suggest Davis.
Matt shrugs his shoulders; his voice is muffled behind the web. He then notices Gabumon and Veemon peaking from behind a crate, waving to them. He signals to Davis who tries to speak in a loud whisper to them.
"Hey, I don't recall giving you boys permission to talk and plot behind my back;" says Sally. Yoshi has left and it's only her here now.
Davis suddenly gets an idea. "Actually Ms. Sally, we're wondering about your research. Will you tell us about it? Maybe we can help."
"Oh no can-do gentlemen. That's top secret. But if you'd please tell me about your digital creatures, that would be wonderful." Sally gets into Davis's face, practically touching his nose. She smells so awful, especially her breath. And her teeth are definitely rotten.
"If you don't mind me asking lady, when was the last time you had a bath?"
Sally seems surprised; "What do I stink? I just bathed last month."
Realizing that Davis is distracting her, Matt signals for the Digimon to get closer.
"I really do want to help you with your research. I'm an expert on Digimon after all."
"Digimon? Is that what you call those digital creatures of yours. Tell me more!"
"Shouldn't you...get something to write all that stuff down?"
"Oh, you're right. Let me get my notebook. Don't go away. I'll be right back, my sweet experiments."
Davis feels he's going to have nightmares about her for a while.
Veemon and Gabumon chew throuth the sticky stuff while Sally has her back turn. Matt's mouth is soon free.
"Davis, that was quick thinking. I must say, I'm impressed."
"Let's just say I have some experience dealing with a crazy sister."
Matt cringes; "Don't remind me."
Sally sees them; "Hey, what's the meaning of this?"
Veemon picks up were Davis left off. "Hey lady, if you really want to research us, you need to see us in action. Can't really get the full effect if our partners are tied up."
Sally thinks. "Yea, but how do I know you're not trying to trick me."
"Do we look like we're smart enough to trick you?" Veemon and Davis both try to look dumb.
"You've got our salaam word as digimon;" Gabumon joins in. Matt has sweat drops forming on his face.
"Ok;" says Sally; "but let me warn you, I have more than a few tricks up my, plus our strongest monster yet behind that door back there. So, no tricks."
She uses her gel magic to melt the webs. Her grimoire and her devices are ready for any sneak tricks.
"We need our digivices lady;" informs Davis.
"Sorry, but I can't let them out of my sight."
Unseen by Sally, Gabumon has a small device hidden underneath his fur. He presses it, then throws it in Sally direction. "What's this? Why you little..." A swarm of bats appear and attack Sally, knocking off her glasses. Veemon quickly grabs the supersonic device, temporarily exposes himself to the swarm to attach it to Sally and retrieves the digivices.
"Let's get out of here;" says Davis as they exit into a passageway.
"How did you two know there were bats in this cave;" ask Matt; "and where did you get that device."
"Simple;" answers Veemon; "We saw bats leaving the cave on our way here."
"And we checked out a small room full of gadgets in case we could us some;" adds Gabumon; "there were several of these supersonic devices in there."
Davis gets out the last of the kike-pa and gives it to the Digimon. "Eat up guys. You need your energy."
No sooner have they swallowed then something burst through the wall. It's Sally on top of her pink, sticky gel salamander.
"So, you want to play rough? I'll give you rough!"
The magic salamander shots several sticky gel attacks, but without her glasses, Sally's aims are way off.
"Gabumon digivolve to...Garurumon."
"Veemon digivolve to...ExVeemon."
Sally can only see their bright colors and outlines, but she's still enthusiastic. "Oh WOW! Just like a mage..."
"Vee Lasor." Sally commands the salamander to stand up and ExVeemon's attack goes right through it.
"What?"
"Oh, my gel magic can neutralize most attacks."
"Garurumon!" shouts Matt.
"Howling blaster."
Part if the salamander freezes, but Sally gets away with the other half. Again, Garurumon attacks and freezes the other half. ExVeemon attacks with his head bunt and the salamander shatters.
"Nice job;" says Sally with a huge grin; "but now it's time to get serious. My research has really been paying off lately."
She presses something on the scorpion necklace she's wearing and injects the tail into her neck.
"What is she doing?" asks a shocked Davis.
"This will increase my powers 10-fold, even if it's for only ten minutes!"
An enormous energy glow comes from her body, shaking the cave. "GEL MAGIC, GO HUGE STICKY SALAMANDER!"
A gigantic pink salamander appears, several stories tall, and crashes throw the cave ceiling, destroying it. Sally appears inside the chest of the salamander, physically directing its every move.
Having protected their partners from the rubble, the digimon dig out Davis and Matt.
"What the heck is that?" asks Davis.
"That's all we need;" adds Matt; "a psychopathic giant amphibian. Garurumon!"
"Right. Garurumon digivolve to...Weregarurumon."
"Another power-up! How interesting!"
"You talk too much." Weregarurumon attacks with his Werewolf Claw, only for it to pass right through the salamander. He attempts to kick directly at Sally right in the gel monster's chest, but his foot gets caught halfway and he's stuck, getting absorbed by the gel.
"Weregarurumon!" Matt almost starts to run towards the amphibian when Davis holds him back.
"Leave this to us Matt;" says Davis as his digimon attacks.
"But Ex-Veemon can't digivolve to ultimate without Ken and Stingmon (referring to DNA fusion digivolution.)
"We'll have to make it work."
Ex-Veemon's attacks fail to affect the salamander and he too starts to get absorbed. The digimons' bodies also seemed to be breaking apart into data.
"NO!" The teens have barely run a few steps when the salamander take one giant step right in front of them.
"This is going to be so much! I'm going to dissect you guys and take apart your devices right now!"
The salamander picks up both boys, then sticks Davis inside its gooey chest to Sally herself. She wraps her arms around him and starts to put her hand up his shirt.
Suddenly, a blue glow appears and part of the salamander bursts, freeing the digimon and Matt. When the light fads, there is what has to be Veemon in a new form. He looks like a larger version of Ex-Veemon with dark blue armor on his shoulders, chest, knees, and tops of his feet. He also has a dark blue helmet covering his eyes and what looks like laser blasters and a jet pack on his back.
"He...he digivolved to ultimate! On his own!" says a surprised Matt.
Sally gets the salamander back together, with Davis still inside. "How fantastic! Oh, I wish I had my laptop."
"SHUT UP! Electric Fire Rocket." Veemon attacks with electricity filled fire. Instead of attacking the salamander directly, he makes a circle around it. The salamander starts to melt, causing Sally to scream.
Veemon calls to Weregarurumon, who charges through the fire and the melting gel, grabbing both Davis and Sally before they hit the ground. Once put down, Sally's very dizzy and suffers the aftereffects of injecting all that mana into herself. "Ugh. I think I may have over done it on the mana." She throws-up and collapses.
Davis looks up at his partner, stunned. "Ex-Veemon, you digivolved!"
The dragon digimon smiles back; "Call me Veedramon, partner."
"Davis, Veemon, I didn't know you guys could do this;" says Matt.
"Neither did I;" replies Davis.
"Congratulations!" says Weregarurumon.
Suddenly they hear what sounds like a loud crash, then the ground shakes as if something huge is moving but moving away.
"What is that?" ask Davis.
"I see nothing?" adds Weregarurumon.
Then all is silent. "The IT!" shouts Sally as she recovers; "It's loss. Oh, how I've been waiting for this! Now I can finally see what it's capable of."
"What the heck is the IT, lady? Or should I even call you a lady?" asks Davis.
"My greatest creation yet!" Sally twirls as she's saying it. "Technically, it was everybody's idea, but I did the bulk of the research and development."
The ground shakes again, as if something jumped into the air, then a loud CRASH some distance away. Then it repeats.
"I still don't see it;" informs Veedramon from the air; "I don't see anything! Is this thing invisible?"
"No;" replies Sally; "just camouflages really well, especially against the night sky. It has DNA of a cuddle fish and chameleon after all."
"And what else?"
"Nope, top secret. I've already said too much."
"Weregarurumon."
"Don't even think of trying to attack me! I've still got plenty of mana. Gel magic..." Weregarurumon steps on her open grimoire, burying it underneath his foot. "HEY! NO FAIR! Oh well, I've still got plenty of spells without access to my grimoire, and magic items!"
Veedramon lands behind her and grabs her, also taking away her scorpion neckless and gun she's holding. She attempts to use the tiny spells she can conjure up without her grimoire, but it's fruitless.
"Ok lady;" says Matt; "We need answer and you're going to give them to us."
Sally only laughs and smiles; "Maybe not." Giant vines suddenly grab the digimon. Yoshi is behind them with a small army of two-story high Audreys and what looks like a larger army of zombies.
