I went towards a small table off at the side of the kitchen, plopped down, and dug in. I decided to go see dad after my meal, so I immediately washed up after eating, said my goodbyes, and headed towards his home, not too far from the pack house but closer to Alpha's residence.

Jumping out of my jeep, I headed straight into the house, not bothering to knock, and the door was unlocked. But that's normal here in the pack community.

"Dad!" I called. "Where are you?"

"In the den, son, come join me. I am finishing up some preparations for tomorrow's meetings. I have a full day ahead of me," he says, then drops his pen and sighs as he gently rubs his temple before going back to shuffling papers.
