after a little while of waiting Richerd walked out of his office and over to cain. "I have already told the principal about you and you will be meeting him before your classes start." walking over he grabbed cains shoulder before the scenery around them changed from a bland and empty hallway to an equally bland and empty office.
before cain could look around Richerd looked over to who cain presumed to be the principal and said "here he is. it's your problem now." with a look of relief on his face and vanished before either of them could say something. used to Ricard's antics as he had dealt with them for the last week non-stop he looked over to the principal to see what they looked like. they had an average-looking faces as well as a five a clock shadow with messy black hair that had streaks of grey along the sides. he looked to be around his late thirties with dark bags under his eyes and was wairing a salary-man style suit with a loose tie.
the principal looked over at cain before taking a sip of the coffee on his desk and said with a tired voice "seeing as you will be attending this academy I should tell you the rules first. one, you must listen to your teacher's instructions and follow them to the best of your ability unless said instruction will cause harm to you or your classmates. two, if you have been given different instructions from other teachers that clash with your current instructions, you will follow the instructions of the higher-ranking teacher, and if both are of the same rank a third party will be brought in to settle the dispute. and lastly seeing as this is a school for training soldiers you will be treated as such. all other rules are inside your book. do you understand?"
memorising what he had said cain looked at the principal and said "yes, sir." before walking out of the office so he could go to his class. as he was walking down the hall he heard the principal yell "and no eating people!"
as the class bell went off cain walked through the door before apologising to the teacher for being late. seeing an empty seat in the front row he walked over. as he was walking to his seat he felt a stare filled with hostility on his so he turned around to see a group of people sitting on the right side of the class. looking at them their cloaths were all of higher quality compared to the rest of the class and they had a golden emblem on their chests, something cain recognised as a sign of nobility.
the one giving him the stare was a handsome male with dirty blond hair and blue eyes. looking at him cain responded with an equally hostile stare as if to say 'i do not care.' before walking to one of two empty seats and sitting down.
the teacher was in every sense of the word, average. average height, average face, average power, average looks and average cloaths. everything about him was as normal and baseline as it could get. just as he was about to begin his introduction a muscular and slightly dark-skinned male with a face that was just around average but on the losing side with mat brown hair that at the moment looked like a birds nest ran through the door before dashing into the only empty seat left, which happened to be next to cain. looking over at the new kid the teacher said "student Seth, as this is the first day of school I will pass this off, but only this once. please do not make a habit out of being late." "sure thing teach."
looking over at cain, Seth began to speak while the teacher introduced himself as Mr, bob. "hey man, how you doin'? you look kinda pale." looking over at Seth and then himself he realised that he was indeed paler than most. as changing his skin tone would not affect him he never really changed it from when he first hatched. keeping to the trend of wanting to look good so long as it wasn't to his detriment he changed his skin tone from its current deathly pale to a healthy rosy white.
surprised at the sudden change Seth said "damn, is that something you can just do or?" looking over at Seth cain simply said "yes." before looking back at Mr, bob " starting next week you will be attending your electives, I will hand out forms so that you can choose two out of the list. until then you will be attending your base classes such as basic magic or cultivating knowledge, depending on your type, basic combat classes and your general studies. electives have their own specialised rooms while basic combat training will be in the auditorium and general studies will be held here, lastly, basic magic or cultivating knowledge will be held in theatre 1. now, let's get on with our class shall we?"
in the beginning, cain was interested in learning something new in his general studies but after a few minutes, he realised that everything being taught were things cain had already learnt so he decided to look around the classroom. after a few moments, cain had memorised the positions of everyone and everything in the room as well as all exits and entries along with all points of strategic importance.
feeling someone tapping his shoulder cain looked over to see Seth trying to get his attention. knowing that if he talked too loud the teacher would hear him he whispered "yes." after finally getting cain's attention Seth smiled before asking "so, what race are you? haven't heard of one that could change their skin colour at will." it just so happened that at this moment the teacher began to talk about something that cain had yet to learn.
"while the Empire mainly consists of the pure blood humans there are some other species that are parts of it such as gnomes, dwarves, elves, beast people and even some beast tribes that have intelligence and control over their instincts, oh and there are also half breeds and cross breeds."
pausing for a moment to let the students take notes he continued "when the human race first entered the 'galactic era' and came in contact with these different species we were extremely hostile with them as we had just discovered mana but you will learn more about that in your history studies. the focus of today's lesson is about bloodlines and how they affect your body."
Upon hearing the term 'bloodline' again cain's interest instantly peaked as both he and Enoch began to pay full attention to this class. "a bloodline is something of an inheritance from your parents. all species have bloodlines, even humans, and they effect them in different ways. elves, for instance, are incredibly in tune with nature and nature-based magics and skills. those with a particularly strong bloodline can even talk to plants in a way."
