Expectation drills into Noe's face as the Greater Ephrene watches and waits for Noe's reaction.
Perplexed, Noe asks the Greater Ephrene, "Did you hear yourself speak?"
Taking Noe's lower arm, Daniel whispers to Noe, "Wait a second." Daniel's voice calls out to the Greater Ephrene, "I have two questions for you."
"Speak." The Greater Ephrene regards Daniel as if Daniel were no more than a piece of animal excrement left along a sidewalk.
"What will be the consequence if Noe does not join your cause?"
With disdain on the tip of his tongue, the Greater Ephrene responds solemnly, "That is for the Omniscient to foresee and us never to know. Noeremous has no choice in the matter. He will come to us."
"Don't address me as if I am not in the room," the anger in Noe's eyes sparks tiny balls of flame around his body that travel from head to toe. Daniel has never seen Noe look so hot.
"Hush now, child," the Greater Ephrene shushes Noe.
