Capítulo 9: Chapter 8

Tatsuya Kadoya walked the bustling streets of New York City, his eyes taking in the kaleidoscope of life around him. The city never slept, and neither did its people. For Tatsuya, every day was an adventure, a blend of mundane tasks and unexpected encounters. Even as a Kamen Rider, he had to balance his extraordinary abilities with an ordinary life.

The morning began with a visit to a local café. The rich aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the air as Tatsuya stepped inside. The café was a cozy corner of tranquility amidst the city's chaos. He ordered his usual—a black coffee and a croissant—and took a seat by the window.

As he sipped his coffee, he reviewed the latest news on his phone, keeping an eye out for any unusual activities or reports of disturbances. Being in New York meant that trouble was never far away, and Tatsuya had to stay vigilant.

A text from Coulson buzzed on his phone. "Any updates on Decade?" it read. Tatsuya smirked, typing back, "Still looking. Will keep you posted." The irony of the situation never failed to amuse him.

After finishing his breakfast, Tatsuya headed to Central Park. A sanctuary, the park allowed him to train without drawing attention. He found a secluded spot among the trees and began his daily regimen of exercises, honing his combat skills and refining his techniques.

The park was alive with joggers, dog walkers, and families enjoying the day. Tatsuya's movements were fluid and precise, a testament to his dedication and discipline. As he practiced, he kept his senses sharp, aware of every sound and movement around him.

Later, he strolled through the bustling streets of Midtown Manhattan. The towering skyscrapers and neon lights were a stark contrast to the ancient temples and quiet villages of his homeland. Yet, Tatsuya had grown to appreciate the city's energy and its diverse population.

As he walked, he passed by Times Square, where tourists gathered to take photos and marvel at the giant billboards. Tatsuya couldn't help but smile at their excitement. He remembered his own awe when he first arrived in the city, the way everything seemed larger than life.

In the afternoon, Tatsuya visited a dojo in Chinatown. The dojo was run by Master Li, a friend he met recently and a mentor who had helped Tatsuya adapt to life in New York. Master Li was a formidable martial artist, and his dojo was a place of learning and respect.

"Tatsuya!" Master Li greeted him with a warm smile. "Ready for another lesson?"

"Always," Tatsuya replied, bowing respectfully.

They spent hours sparring and discussing various techniques. Master Li's wisdom and experience were invaluable, and Tatsuya always left the dojo feeling more enlightened.

As evening approached, Tatsuya headed to a local bookstore. He enjoyed reading and often found solace among the shelves of old and new books. The store's owner, Mrs. Thompson, was a kind woman who always had a recommendation for him.

"Good to see you, Tatsuya," she said, handing him a book. "I think you'll enjoy this one."

"Thank you, Mrs. Thompson," Tatsuya replied, taking the book and adding it to his growing collection.

Nightfall brought a different rhythm to the city. Tatsuya returned to his apartment, a modest but comfortable place in a quiet neighborhood. He cooked himself a simple dinner and settled in to read the book Mrs. Thompson had given him.

As he read, his phone buzzed again. Another message from Coulson. "Fury wants a meeting tomorrow. Be ready."

Tatsuya sighed, setting the book aside. He knew the investigation into Decade was heating up, and he had to be prepared for whatever came next. But for now, he allowed himself a moment of peace, enjoying the simple pleasures of a quiet evening.

Before bed, Tatsuya stepped out onto his balcony, looking out over the city that had become his home. The lights of New York glittered like stars, and the sounds of the city drifted up to him. He took a deep breath, feeling the weight of his responsibilities, but also the thrill of the unknown.

"Another day," he murmured to himself. "Another adventure."

With that, he turned in for the night, ready to face whatever challenges the next day would bring.

The following morning, Tatsuya awoke with a sense of anticipation. His meeting with Nick Fury was scheduled for 10 a.m., and he knew that Fury wasn't the type to tolerate lateness. After a quick breakfast, Tatsuya donned a sleek black suit, opting for a professional look to match the gravity of the occasion.

Arriving at the SHIELD headquarters, he was met by Agent Coulson, who greeted him with a nod. "Morning, Tatsuya. Ready for the big meeting?"

"Always," Tatsuya replied, a smirk playing at the corners of his mouth.

Coulson led him through the labyrinthine corridors of the facility, their footsteps echoing in the quiet halls. They reached a secure conference room, its steel door imposing and unyielding. Coulson scanned his badge, and the door slid open with a hiss.

Inside, Nick Fury stood at the head of a long table. His presence was commanding, his single eye sharp and assessing. Maria Hill stood beside him, her expression as serious as ever. Both were dressed in their usual black tactical gear, a reminder of the no-nonsense world they operated in.

"Tatsuya," Fury began, his voice gravelly and authoritative. "Take a seat."

Tatsuya complied, sitting down at the table, his posture relaxed but attentive. Coulson took a seat next to him, while Hill remained standing, a tablet in her hands.

"Let's get straight to the point," Fury said, his gaze never leaving Tatsuya. "We've got a situation, and we need your expertise."

Tatsuya leaned back slightly, his curiosity piqued. "What kind of situation?"

Fury gestured to Hill, who tapped on her tablet. The large screen at the end of the room lit up, displaying blurry images and video clips of Decade in action. The footage from the battle with Stane was grainy, but it was clear enough to see the distinctive magenta and white armor.

"This," Fury said, pointing to the screen. "This is the first time we've had any intel on this individual. A powerful entity with advanced technology. And yet, we can't get a single fingerprint or face recognition match because of the armor."

Tatsuya kept his expression neutral, but he couldn't help but find the situation amusing. Here he was, being asked to investigate himself. "Looks like you've got your hands full," he remarked.

Fury's eye narrowed. "No kidding. We need to know who this 'Decade' is, what his intentions are, and if he's a threat to our world."

Coulson chimed in, "We've combed through every piece of footage, but it's like he doesn't exist outside of his appearances. No records, no traces. A ghost."

Tatsuya nodded thoughtfully, playing along. "Sounds like a tough case."

"That's where you come in," Fury said, his tone leaving no room for argument. "You've got a unique skill set, and we believe you're our best chance at finding out who Decade is and what he wants."

Hill handed Tatsuya a folder, her expression stern. "These are all the files we have on him. It's not much, but it's a start."

Tatsuya took the folder, flipping through the scant documents. It was indeed a sparse collection—blurry photos, fragmented video stills, and a few eyewitness reports that ranged from vague to fantastical.

"Do you think you can handle this?" Fury asked, his gaze piercing.

Tatsuya closed the folder, meeting Fury's eye with a confident smile. "Consider it done."

Fury nodded, satisfied. "Good. Keep us updated on your progress. And remember, discretion is key. We don't want to cause a panic or tip off our target."

Coulson added, "We'll provide any resources you need. Just let us know."

Tatsuya stood, tucking the folder under his arm. "I'll get started right away."

As he left the room, he couldn't help but chuckle to himself. The irony of the situation was almost too much to bear. He was tasked with finding himself, a mission that promised to be both challenging and entertaining.

Walking through the corridors of SHIELD headquarters, Tatsuya felt a renewed sense of purpose. He had always been a wanderer, a Kamen Rider passing through worlds and conflicts. Now, he had a new role to play in this world, and he intended to make the most of it.

Exiting the building, he stepped into the bustling streets of New York. The city was alive with activity, its rhythm unchanging. Tatsuya blended into the crowd, just another face among many. But beneath the surface, he was Decade, and his journey in this world was only beginning.

As he walked, his mind raced with possibilities. How would he navigate this investigation? What clues would he leave for himself? The game was afoot, and Tatsuya was ready to play.

He pulled out his phone and sent a quick text to Coulson: "Starting the search. Will keep you posted."

With a final glance at the SHIELD building, Tatsuya disappeared into the city, a ghost in the urban jungle. The hunt for Decade had begun, and Tatsuya Kadoya was the perfect man for the job.
