Capítulo 3: Chapter 3

Edited by: Mystic

Ai Yui stood there holding the headgear for a while before he seemed to realize that he really did win, and this wasn't just some odd dream. He slowly glanced down at the object in his hands before a smile moved to his lips. This was just too awesome!

Ignoring Dashi who was trying to snap him out of his trance, Ai Yui moved to sit on his bed before setting the headgear aside and pulling out the instructions booklet. He made sure to understand how to operate the headgear, or rather how he thinks to operate it with how the booklet is set up, Ai Yui gets everything hooked up, the sensors and the power wire going to plug in. He then put the headgear on and laid down on the bed.

After powering up the headgear his vision went black before it was filled with the load up menu of the game that was already installed onto the headgear. He waited until it finished loading before clicking the option to create an account with the game, filling out the needed information.

Due to the fact that Ai Yui didn't really get to play games, he wasn't sure what Username to use, so he just put in Xiao Xue Hu. He did so because he thought it sounded cool. Despite the fact that it was just 'Little Snow Fox'. Which wasn't manly as he thought it was.

He then went to pick out his character, choosing the Spirit Beast character option. He would be able to transform from his beast form into his 'human' form at will. There was some other info such as dealing with possible owners and other things that he didn't pay attention to, which he would regret later. He thought being a spirit beast would make him manly and cool ah!

His beast form was a nine-tailed fox with white fur and light purple highlights on the ends. His human self had long flowing hair pulled up into a ponytail, and he wore a soft white/purple rob. It was the default outfit, but he matched the color to his hair, which was a light purple that faded to white. Even his eyes were purple, which he thought made him look like a dashing prince.

There might have been something awfully wrong with how Ai Yui saw himself because no matter what he attempted, it didn't seem manly like he thought it did...

When Ai Yui finally got into the game, he stood still for a moment his head tilting as he looked around. For some reason, everything seemed to be rather large. It took him a while, looking around to figure out he was in his 'beast' form. Frowning he sat down, trying to figure out how to switch to his human form. Though he was unable to do so, finally he managed to get a help sheet, and it stated he needed to level up to spirit lord beast before he could transform.

Right now he was just a heavenly fox 'cub'. 'So...what now?' Ai Yui wasn't sure what he was supposed to do to level in the game, as he had no idea how to play. He glanced around before getting up and started to look around the virtual world. He was lucky enough that he was born in a rather isolated area.

Since the game was highly popular and most cultivators enjoyed gaining spirit beasts by force, the game creator spawned them randomly away. What more the race Ai Yu got was presented into his headgear as a 'special' race that he only had. It was something they had given out for winning first place in the writing competition that wasn't mentioned. So not only did Ai Yui not know this, he wasn't reading the chat log that had started going nuts over the announcement about it! Thus started a hunt for his capture!

If Ai Yui would have read the info on his race before starting he'd learn that if he was forced into a contract with another player, then he'd be bound to them in a way that wasn't really explained too well...Even if this race was opened to the public, it wouldn't be highly favored because a normal person wouldn't like having their freedom taken. They;d only choose it if they had a partner they trusted chosen already to make sure to keep them safe! Ah~ what to do when he finds out, it will be too late!

------ Point of view switch -------

While on there was a clueless little fox running about exploring the game, a hidden figure sat in the shadows, watching as the chat went nuts. The figure had been sitting in the same spot for the past hour waiting for his prey to come online, finally, it did! Oh, how good it was! Now he just needed to go and find it...

Sighing the figure began to leave the shadow, showing a spot of red before vanishing as if it was never there. Heading straight towards a little fox that was clueless as to what fate awaited him.

Really now, who told the little thing to be silly enough to fall for a simple trick and choose the spirit beast he'd rigged? It was truly as if fate was on his side. An evil smile taking hold of the shadows lips. He really couldn't help but laugh. Who would have thought that his little fox he'd started to like would have applied in his silly contest? What more giving him the ability to completely make the little fox his?

------ Point of view switch -------

Ai Yui was enjoying the view of the forest around him as he wondered about it, though he was slowly starting to get annoyed. He wanted to level up! So why was there nothing for him to attack? Was he going to be stuck as a little runt forever?!

He began to panic when he heard a small crunch behind him of a twig breaking, turning around to look at the shadowed figure that walked out from the shadows, the man looked like he was the devil himself! Ai Yui's heart began to thump as he looked at the male, he really was manly though! Ah, no fair! Why were his presets so girly? Yet this guy had a manly preset? Did he choose the wrong race after all? He wants a re-due!!

Ai Yui seemed to be expressing all of his emotions on his little fox face, causing the male to laugh as he moved closer, lowering to crouch down next to him. "ah, little guy. What are you doing here? hmm? It's not safe!" he said in a fake tone of concern.

It's to be noted that in this game, a lot of people play it as if it were real, the rules even stated that one should avoid going out of character! So Ai Yui tilted his head trying to figure out how to stay within the rule. He was new, so he wasn't too sure how to do this yet. But the guy before him seemed perfect at the role of evil villain. "Er....I'm lost?" He said in an unsure tone.

Since it was frowned upon to go out of character, Ai Yui didn't want to admit that he was trying to figure out how to still play the game, what more...He was embarrassed to say he had no idea how to fight. This was his chance to be manly! He wouldn't let this guy realize he was just a weak little fox. Hmph!

The male laughed. "I can see that...How about I show you around? Hmn? I'm Yao Wang." The male stated rather pleased the fox hadn't fled away but responded to him. It seems the little thing honestly didn't read everything about his class. Or he wouldn't be so defenseless with a higher player of a different race, shame shame. He's just asking to be gobbled up!
