Capítulo 1: Chapter 1: News

Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry. Home to some of the most competent wizards on this side of the world and the next generation of witches and wizards.

Chelsea Harnot was one of these students. She was from the house of Gryfindor who stood for the courageous the brave chivalreous and nerve, Chelsea was a confident and skilled witch. Maybe a little bit too confident and in the words of many of her peers an arrogant git, but that quickly changed last year when her mother finally admitted something to her.

Her father, no her other mother was a Roman Goddess. It took a lot to finally convince her, but after a trip from Europe to America to the house of wolves she was quickly convinced.

Meeting Lupa wasn't the most pleasent experience in the world. The Wolf goddess wasn't as patient as the teachers at Hogwarts and her sharp tongue nearly had her abandonned quite a few times.

After two weeks of rigorous and brutal training along with a almost another week of walking, Chelsea limped inside of New Rome covered in bruises. The young witch foolishly believed that it would be smooth sailing from there, but the Legion was a thousand times more disciplined than anything she ever experienced in the wizarding world, some twelve year old had more discipline than her uncle who's an Aurore. Coming from a powerful pure blooded family Chelsea realised just how sheltered she was the first time she had to face off against a monster before reaching the legion.

It wasn't like the creatures she was thought about by Hagrid. Those were creature's who's evil only equalled their intelligence.

The still visible crack in her Wand held together by a small ring of imperial gold was the most humbling part of her experience. Then she was taken into the fifth legion where her real training began.

She learned about this new world, expecting it to be inferior to the wizards, but there as well she was humbled.

As it turns out the demigods didn't believe in safety as much as Hogwarts did. Not that they didn't care, they were simply a lot more casual about it.

A fact made painfully clear in her first war game. Keeping up with the military march was already hard. Swinging a sword or throwing a Pilum was even more than she expected, and don't get her started on the water canons. After the simulated battle she was panicking at a few shallow cuts, while the boy laying next to her in the infirmary was calmly waiting with a piece of metal shrapnel in his leg.

He commented that she literally and metaphorically needed thicker skin.

She snapped at him stating that she just a harder week than his entire life. Oh how wrong she was to say that. His name was Richard Quentin, son of Mars and all he's ever known was battle and war.

Thankfully he wasn't a bitter person. She even eventually found a friend in him, even though he tended to have fun at her expanse.

Her summer surprisingly passed like a breeze. She got claimed earned a gift from her mother and before she knew it summer was over and her mortal mother was there to bring her home.

"What did these savages do to you." The blonde haired woman fussed, watching the tiny pale scars littering her arms and her now neck long salt and pepper hair. They barely got passed her ears when the barber of the Legion was done with her. She had missed it and was glad that the daughters of Venus showed her how to properly braid her hair for battle. It was surprisingly a lot more useful than one might expect.

Chelsea couldn't help but frown at her mother. "Mother their not savages, I can't be expected to learn how to fight without getting hurt a little."

"Nonsense." Her mother huffed "if you're father didn't insist I wouldn't have sent you here." Opal Harnot was hellbent on considering Chelsea's godly mother as a man. She wasn't sure why, as if a child born out of a same gender couple was the strangest thing that ever happened in the wizarding world.

What she did find strange was what she learned about the muggle world and how wrong muggle studies were. She ended up being the butt of every jokes for a bit, before it was explained that she was never exposed to anything from the muggle world.

After that her cohort was very understanding and even suportive. No one seemed to care that she was a wizard. Since aparently Hecate or Trivia for the Romans are the one who gave magic to the first wizards.

Chelsea wasn't sure how much she believed this, but she couldn't deny it made a lot of sense. Still wizards and witches weren't a popular subject with the demigods. For once she didn't really care about a reputation to uphold.

She was going to miss this place. Maybe she could convince her mother to let her go to this Camp Half-blood next year. She heard it was a lot more chaotic than Camp Jupiter. She wasn't sure if that was better or worse.

Her mother apparated her back to their family home in London, where her hair was immediatly 'fixed' by her mother with a wave of her wand.

Chelsea wanted to protest, with longer hair she'd be a lot easier to catch. She wondered if she needed to worry about monsters finding her in the wizarding world. Could they find her scent there? Not that it would stop her from going. She missed her friends and learning magic.

It nearly felt like years since she went to Hogwarts.

"What happened to your wand!?" Her mother exclaimed snatching it from her hand as she fidgeted with it. "A monster nearly broke it, but the blacksmith in Camp were surprisingly skilled at fixing it." Chelsea answered not really seeing the problem.

Her mother handed back the wand grumbling about uncivilised brutes. "We can get you a new one-" she began, but her daughter wasn't so keen on throwing away her precious wand because of a crack.

The trip to Diagon Alley was fairly quick, but Chelsea felt a lot more paranoïd. Ever since Harry Potter won the triwizard cup he was slandered by the daily prophet, but Cedric Diggory's lifeless body was more than enough to convince her that 'he' was back.

Her new school supplies bought and her trunk ready, Chelsea waited for the train on plateforme 9 3/4.

"Chelsea?" The young witch turned her head to Pavarti Patil. Her fellow Gryffindor looked at her like she was an alien. Chelsea couldn't exactly blame her, in just a summer she grew a few inches, put on a lot of lean muscles and spending so much time outside left her with a bit of tan.

A far cry from last years that's for sure. "Hey Parvati." She greeted back with a small smile. "What happened to you?" The indian witch practically demanded.

Chelsea couldn't help the chuckle that breached her lips. "I just spent the summer with the other side of my family tree."

Parvati looked at her up and dowm again "is you're father a soldier or something?"

Chelsea rubbed the back of her head "yeah I guess you can say that. Anyway what did you do this summer?"

Parvati shrugged carelessly "nothing special, hey did you hear about the member of the ministry coming to teach defense against the dark art this year?"

Chelsea shook her head "who knows maybe this year it won't go wrong." Realising what she said Chelsea nearly smacked her forehead. The first thing another demigod ever taught her was to never in any circumstances try you're luck. Otherwise something or someone is going to ruin you're day.

Hopefully the fates were feeling generous today.

The train slowed down to a stop, Chelsea waved at her mother as she boarded the train. Hoping that no monster would follow her to Hogwarts. It was the last thing she needed at the moment. She was simply glad to be back to her other home.

But of course that couldn't go her way either.

Dolores Umbridge might have been the most infuriating being that Chelsea has ever met. And she's been tormented by literal demons. She opened the feast by rudely interrupting Dumbledore and proclaiming that she was happy to teach the next generation of magical students.

But Chelsea could now recognise a fake smile when she saw one. The toad looking woman wore a condescending and venomous smile, but she hid it under a fake bubbly personality.

Although she didn't let her spoil her meal. Chelsea kept a positive mindset the entire day.

Until tommorow morning that is.

She sat down for breakfest the latest daily prophet in hand. She opened the newspaper and promptly did a soit take all over Hermione Granger who was seated accross from her.

The headline for once wasn't about the boy who lived. It read as such.

NEW SPECIES DISCOVERED!

THE MINISTRY OF MAGIC HAS MADE A ONE IN A LIFETIME DISCOVERY. HUMAN LIKE BEINGS WITH MAGICAL ABILITIES UNLIKE US WIZARDS LIVE AMONG US. THEY CALL THEMSELVES DEMIGODS. THE MINISTRY DOUBTS THAT THIS TITLE IS AN ACCURATE ONE, BUT THESE CREATURES DO SEEM TO PRECEED THE WIZARDING WORLD. AS PROVEN BY VERY ANCIENT DOCUMENTS.

THE MINISTRY WOULD LIKE TO REASSURE THE PUBLIC THAT THESE MAGICAL CREATURES WHILE SEEMINGLY PRIMITIVE ARE NOT A THREAT OF ANY KIND.

BUT DO NOT WORRY YOU'RE HEADS OFF DEAR READERS. FOR THESE "DEMIGODS" MOSTLY LIVE IN AMERICA. THE MAGICAL CONGRESS OF THE UNITED STATES IS CURRENTLY SEARCHING FOR THE MAIN COLONY OF THIS NEW SPECIES SO THEY CAN SAFELY DOCUMENTED THEM, AND FOR THOSE AFRAID OF POSSIBLE MISTREATEMENT. THE RESEARCHERS IN QUESTIONS ARE UNDER OATH TO TREAT THEM AS ANY OTHER WIZARDS FROM THE WIZARDING COMMUNITY WOULD TREAT A VALUABLE AND RARE SPECIES.

Chelsea blinked at the newspaper ignoring the sputtering Hermione.

Against her expectations, her school year was about to get a lot worse than she expected.

(A.U. THIS IS A FUTURE AU, BUT ONLY FOR THE PERCY JACKSON SIDE OF THE CROSSOVER. I MIGHT IGNORE SOME CANON DEATHS OR NOT I'M NOT SURE YET. I HOPE YOU LIKE THIS STORY AND IF YOU WANT ANOTHER ONE WITH THE SAME CONCEPT GO LOOK FOR THE BEGINNING OF MAGIC BY Ashlyn666g)
