"Allison...Allison!" Tora came to, when she felt a strong grip on her arm, tugging at her to turn around. The hand belonged to a handsome teenager whom she'd never seen before, but for some unknown reason, she knew exactly who this person was.
"What...?" She whispered, staring up at the other person.
"Why do you keep bothering Sarah? We've gone over this time and time again! Why can't you just trust that we're simply friends?" His voice wasn't aggressive but it made Tora furious. The name Sarah infuriated her so much that she harshly shook his grip off and glared at him.
"It's over! We're done!" The words came out naturally, confusing Tora just as much as the boy in front of her.
"Wha?-Hey!" He chased after her and yet again gripped her arm. "No! Not happening! You know I love you. Why are you being like this!?"
It was then that another pair of hands grabbed her from behind and pulled her back. Being tugged around like this made her head ached. "Don't fucking touch her!" The bright and almost aggressive tone of voice causes Tora to look back.
"Fuck! Don't you have a life to live? Stop sticking your nose in our business!" He glared daggers at the tall beauty who interrupted the conversation.
"She's MY friend, you're the one that needs to get a life! She's done with you, now fuck off!" She reached down to grab hold of Tora's hand and tugged gently. " Let's go, Allie. I'll take you home."
Tora followed quietly until they were about to leave. That's when she noticed that they were in the gym. She glanced back noticing that he was staring at her. He mouthed something and headed towards the locker room.
"Allie...," the soft-spoken voice caught her attention, and this caused her to turn back to face her 'friend.' "You're for real this time around, right?"
"What...?"
Noticing Tora's confusion, she quickly explained.
"Breakup for real this time. Please, don't go back to him again. Adrian's not right for you." Her eyebrows were scrunched forward and her eyes were full of conviction. Afraid that her best friend would get angry again, she quickly continued. "I know that we've been a bit rocky because of this, but I mean it from the bottom of my heart, I-I love you, Allie. I don't want to see you hurt like that again, so plea-"
"Alright, no more going back," Tora replied and smiled softly. "Let's go. My dad comes back today."
"OMG! Monsieur is back!? How do I look?" The serious demeanor from early on was nowhere to be found.
It was strange because Tora knew exactly why this 'friend' of hers called her dad Monsieur, or even why she knew her father was coming home. These were definitely not her memories.
The drive home was filled with excited chatter, but Tora could only pay slight attention to it.
What is even happening..., thought Tora.
"I'm being serious when I said that I wanna be your stepmom."
Fuck. These people are not normal.
"I'll accept you if my dad does." The car finally came to a stop at her home. "Now hurry back to practice before coach chews you out. I'll see you tomorrow." Tora hurried in after saying her goodbyes.
Once the door to her room slammed shut, her heart dropped in fear. The hair on her body rose and her whole body heated up in an instant. Her hands fumbled around in the room looking for the smallest of clues. The things that shouldn't be familiar were things she knew like the back of her hands. But that was just the problem, she didn't recognize the person in the mirror, that wasn't her, or at least the life this person lived wasn't hers. This person with the same face and body as hers was unfamiliar.
That's when she noticed something, a book under the pillow caught her attention. Almost as if it was drawing her in, she moved towards it immediately. Her heart raced as her hand shook. "The Bad Boy and I?"
"This-!" Tora had goosebumps all over her body. The tips of her fingers ran cold as she trace the name of the author, "Fucking Asier!"
A sheet of paper suddenly appeared on top of the book and along with it words appeared on there as well. 'Ha Ha Ha,' the simple three words on the paper infuriated her. Blood rushed instantly to her head. "You're kidding!?"
The paper evaporated in an instant and was now replaced with a new one. 'You look like a tomato, don't be angry.' The paper ripped in two immediately. She tore that piece of paper like life depended on it. But just like the first one, this one evaporated as well and a new one replaced it. 'You said that you were interested.'
"What is it that you want?" No reply came other than a soft sound of knocking.
"Allie?" Tora gave no reply, contemplating whether or not to fake being the real Allison. She didn't have the confidence to trick this poor man whom she felt a faint father-daughter connection with.
She took a few deep breaths and opened the door. A man who looked like he was in his late thirties gave her a bright grin. The gentle smile coupled with the soft touches which turned into hugs was so warm, it gave Tora butterflies. Her heart tightened just enough that it was aching.
I hate this.
"Sorry, the trip took longer than expected. I miss you so much I could barely sleep." His tone of voice was very childish and playful. His joking demeanor stopped when he finally let go of Allison and took a look at her face. "This....Sorry, it was all my fault. Dad shouldn't have left you alone for too long."
His clumsy hands tried his best to wipe away the teardrops from her face. His eyebrows scrunched and his lips pursed. Tora simply stared at the person in front of her.
She was jealous and angry. She hated Asier even more for making Allison's father look like her own. She hated the fact that her father, whom she had to learn to grow up without, was so loving towards this person named Allison.
"I'm sorry..." He pulled Tora back for a hug and kept on apologizing. It was becoming unbearable so Tora pushed him lightly.
"It's not because of that...," Her sniffles interrupted her. "I broke up with Adrian for good this time." Her eyes darted to the floor, hoping that he wouldn't notice the bullshit she was spewing. "I'm hungry...can't you make me something?" Her voice was soft, this pulled at her father's heart.
"One grand meal coming up!" He took her soft voice and avoidance as a sign that she wasn't ready to talk. "I know you like butts, so just find another man with a better butt."
What the fuck...?
Her mouth parted in shock at what she just heard, but the person responsible was already in the kitchen. Her mind spun and suddenly all the ache she felt in her heart was gone. "Heh." She let out a chuckle at this unbelievable situation.
Another piece of paper suddenly fell in front of her. 'I picked a great family for you.' Acting like she never read that, she simply crumbled it and threw it back on the floor. Her goal was to fully read the novel, any other unimportant thing can wait.
'You're ignoring me'
Damn straight I am.
"What kind of bullshit—." The more she read, the harder her grip on the novel was.
'I didn't give you that to shred it.'
The torn pages were being put through a shredder and soon that note was also in there.
"Life is much better if you just shred up shit." She felt a lot more refreshing watching each page turn into literal trash.
'You know that I can kill you right?'
"In you go Asier, I'm simply doing my job as an editor."
Her eyes watched as the pages that depicted Allison bullying Sarah slowly disappeared. This was the typical romance story in which a "bitchy mean girl" loses everything to the "quirky book nerd."
If you actually put some thought into it, Allison was simply doing what a girlfriend would do if they noticed another girl trying to get in her boyfriend's pants. The so-called "bullying" was simply being told off and maybe a few minor physical altercations.
This was why Tora rejected the query when Asier sent in 'The Bad Boy and I.' She felt like barfing every time she read this type of novel.
'Truly heartless. I wrote this with you in mind.'
"I'm not talking to you anymore, so go away."
She'd rather spend time with Allison's dad rather than get angry at someone she can't even see or hear.
David was doing his best at preparing pan-fried steak. The side dishes were roasted asparagus and broccoli covered in cheese baked in the oven and mashed sweet potato. His suit was laid across the chair and his sleeves rolled up. His eyebrows tensed and his eyes stared intently at the stuff.
How serious...I guess he can cook.
She watched him silently and looked towards the suitcase by the door.
I'm jealous...
DING DING DING!
The answer is C. The Bad Boy and I (If the title wasn't obvious than I don't know anymore)
PS. It would have been really funny to write a story about Balls
