26.82% Death Of The Villainess / Chapter 11: The Alpha's Mate | Pt.3

Capítulo 11: The Alpha's Mate | Pt.3

Ethan strode into the house of Water Wing's General feeling perplexed by the news he had heard. He was continuously hounded for the past few weeks after the General had announced that his granddaughter, Hallie Moore, had undergone gland removal surgery with his approval.

News spread like wildfire. Blame was put on him for the annulment of their engagement which led to an irrevocable decision. He was deemed a villain for daring to push a heartbroken person to a life that was worse than death, a life where an Omega could no longer bear children.

To prevent his reputation from becoming worse, he was advised by his family to seek forgiveness from the Moore's. Whether it meant that he complied with every request, including marriage, or mending relations by asking Hallie Moore to make an announcement absolving him from any blame or as the reason for her gland removal.

He fully believes that this was a ploy by Hallie to force him back into a marriage with her. He frowned as he thought about it. Hallie was the type that he hated the most. A person who was conniving and cruel to the people around her, only knowing how to use her family status against others.

"Ethan Clark, you've got quite the nerve to come to my house unannounced." A cold, chilling atmosphere engulfed the waiting room instantly. Ethan felt a dangerous pair of eyes watching as he tried to calm his shaking hand.

That damned old man's aura is definitely worthy of the title of General.

"My apologies. I'd like to request an audience with Miss Hallie."

"No." Robert didn't attempt to hide his contempt for Ethan. He had heard about what His good-for-nothing son and Ethan were planning on doing to his granddaughter. It was an unforgivable offense.

"This is a direct request from the Clark's household. You have no right to deny it, General Moore." His eyes sharpened and his muscles tensed. He released a bit of his hormones to defuse the density of Robert's.

"I suppose it can't be helped." The sound of footsteps that accompanied the tired voice put a pause on the tension.

Strong, heavy steps echoed as they approached. Ethan nearly dropped the folder he was carrying after seeing who it was. Hallie's eyes were much sharper and more intimidating. Her muscular body greatly contrasted with her overly weak self two months ago. Her expression gave off a highly confident and arrogant look compared to the desperate and jealous look she had before. The slight blush and streaks of sweat made his throat dry.

Ethan could barely tear his eyes away. It was such a shocking sight to witness that he stood there in complete shock. Robert noticing this felt his anger about to explode.

This unworthy swine dares to look at my granddaughter with such eyes after throwing her away like trash!? I will rip him apart myself!

"Long time no see, Colonel Clark." Her smirk scratched a sore spot in Ethan's conscience. Tora walked over to Robert and gently held his hands. "We need to announce my enlistment anyways, let's hear what the Colonel has to say."

Robert looks like a sensitive old cat today as well. The way you can almost see his fur stand up and his claws out is really funny. Thought Tora as she grinned widely at her grandfather.

Ethan felt his mind go blank at the bright smile that decorated Hallie's face. His eyes quickly looked away as he tried to continue his business persona. "Yes, about that..."

He stepped forward and handed the folder to Tora. Inside were multiple contracts with multiple compensation methods. "Ah...So it was because of the news." Her chuckle made him feel uncomfortably hot. "We're going live to solve this issue right now."

"What—? But the contracts—!" Ethan watched as Tora threw the folder into the trash. His mouth opened and closed a few times but managed to say nothing.

"Jason! Prepare for a live broadcast!" Robert called out for his assistant and busied himself to help prepare for the setup.

They moved a couple of things around and sat down on a long sofa for the live. Almost immediately after they went live, people were pouring in like a broken dam.

"Colonel Clark and I, Hallie Moore, are currently here together to address the controversial news that has spread around." Tora smiled at the camera and started to strip her outer top. Ethan noticeably jumped a bit at the sudden movement. His hands nearly yanking down the shirt she lifted up.

"What are you doing!?"

"Hands! Off!" Tora glared and brushed his hands off her shirt. She quickly removed her top, revealing a blank tank top underneath it. "I did in fact remove my glands." Her hands gently traced the surgical scars above her collarbones with a large grin on her face.

"To think that you would actually—!" Ethan was becoming an annoyance with his overreactions.

"I DID NOT, however, remove it because of the annulment of our engagement." She glared at Ethan and continued her speech. "I removed it in order to serve as the rightful heir to the Moore's Legacy. I will be enlisting starting next month. Please, look forward to it." She smiled and signaled for the end of the live broadcast.

"Wait!" Ethan quickly grabbed her wrist when he noticed her leaving. "What do you mean, ENLISTING? An Omega doesn't have the same physical strength—!" Before he knew it, he was on the floor with a nosebleed.

"You have no right to judge whether or not I'm capable. Remember this Colonel Clark, The Clark's and the Moore's are simply acquaintances. I will not tolerate you overstepping the boundaries again. Jason will see you off." Tora felt her hand sting and burn from the punch she threw just now. But her heart felt great joy at her hard work finally paying off.

She gratefully wiped her hands clean from the washcloths given to her by Robert. These past two months had been hell for her but she couldn't quit. She had no prior experience in any form of combat nor an extensive understanding of the equipment she needed to use once she enlisted.

As Robert promised, he gave her a training regimen that nearly killed her from exhaustion. She pushed forward, noticing that her body shape started changing and her muscles started growing. Her overall strength expanded and she was now as strong as a Beta.

She had guessed as much that this world was heavily reliant on the glands that controlled whether you were an Alpha, Beta, or Omega. Your physical qualities remained the same after being awakened as either of the three. Omegas are weak in nature and can never grow muscles nor have the physical strength to fight off an Alpha or Beta after being awakened.

The only loopholes she learned about were gland removal surgeries that release your restrictions and allow you to grow, taking an illegal suppressant to temporarily shut down your glands, and growing your muscles and strength before the awakening.

In the book, Freya chooses to take illegal suppressants in order to run away from an arranged marriage and hide in the military as a Beta. This worked for a bit until the after-effects took control and caused her to be exposed as an Omega.

"Hallie,  Dear...That punch was spectacular!" Robert's grin was filled with pride. He had felt a bit skeptical but seeing her study the books he gave diligently changed his mind.

Even if my lovely granddaughter failed at physical strength, It wouldn't matter much anyway. I'm more than capable of caring for one person. That is what he thought during the surgery, but the progress that Hallie made after, almost drove him crazy with happiness.

"It's not enough to celebrate just yet. I still need to be stronger. I'll be in the practice room."

'You're a lot more diligent than I thought.' Tora prided herself in managing to find a new way of bothering Asier. Her hands started rubbing the paper at her sweat. Wiping it clean until the paper vanishes.

'Stop doing that.'

Why? I'll stop when you tell me when you'll stop dragging me into worlds.

'That's a bit...'

I'm still mad at you. You could have given me at least one more day as Allison...

'But you don't like him.'

Yeah, I didn't like him, but was at least curious to know more. It would have been nice to at least...see him one more time...

':D'

"What the fuck...?" That smiley face in text form gave her a scare. She felt like Asier was up to something and it was bothering her.
