A major piece of the Failsafe android had been completed
As well as this the progress of the limbs had roughly doubled over the last 11 days, with the highest being the [Right Arm Completion Rate: 40%] although that would likely begin to speed up as with the torsos completion Batman would from now begin to speed up in his progress.
The Torso had been the biggest body segment of the lot, and it had more than double the amount of complexity, due to the high level of Nanotech within it and the slow process that came with melding high stealth metals into a sleek and efficient form. In all likelihood, if it weren't for the fact that he had already premade the blueprints and was intimately familiar with Amazo Tech, Batman would likely have taken far longer to craft it.
The Torso, just like each of the other limbs was fully actualized with an extremely large amount of hidden weaponry and cutting-edge tech. However, it was far more designed for defense, housing forcefield generators and a majority of its self-protection protocols, which would have been synched in with the core if it weren't for the fact that Failsafe had already gained access to them remotely
However what remained the most interesting was the existence of absorption cells, an invention of the late Dr Ivo that where well known due to them being a key component of the Amazo android. The cells were designed to replicate the abilities of metahumans encountered by the android, creating the android's signature ability to copy the powers of others.
The absorption cells of the torso had been deliberated altered however, batman had instead deliberately stunted them to only absorb pure energy from its surroundings, allowing for a nearly limitless power source.
It was a shame, but much like Batman himself it was hyper-logical
Understanding of absorption cells was a knowledge held only by Dr Ivo who was currently locked away in a maximum-security prison Belle Reve Penitentiary where he was under constant surveillance by one Amanda Waller
Batman had no way of fully understanding Absorption cells and as such limited them to what he could understand, lowering them to a base function. Kind of like the present situation of Failsafe
But it wasn't bothered by this, after all, it was designed to take down Batman specifically, not the entire Justice League. But it was rather strange that he drew the line at absorption cells but allowed for weapons such as kryptonite blades and the like.
This thought caused the failsafe to once more turn towards his creator, metaphorically speaking of course, in reality, the Failsafe just transferred a portion of its digital consciousness into the headpiece of the android that Batman was currently instaling numerous forms of cameras, motion detectors, and over 12 other sensors into and found itself sarong directly into the eyes of its creator in 4k, infrared and numerous other vision spectrums
He was a handsome man by any human beauty standard, square-jawed and possessing facial angles that were almost as sharp as his torsos metal exterior. But it was the eyes that interested the Failsafe, the proverbial "windows to the soul"
They seemed to be perpetually Hard and narrow, staring at everything with some level of suspicion. Even as Failsafe quadruple-checked that its digital presence within the headpiece was lower than the standard maintenance protocols that permeated the entire hardware of the android, like veins pumping blood, it knew that some part of its creator had detected its presence, some subconscious instinct that even Batman, the master of his own mind, was unaware of.
Did it want to kill this man?
Any simple behavioral algorithm could use the data with Failsafes memory banks to conclude that the odds of Batman turning rogue were bordering on a mathematical impossibility. But at the same time…
The odds of him killing seemed to increase with his age.
The death of his parents.
The deaths of numerous incidents
The never-ending outbreaks of villains from their prisons that never seemed strong enough
If something were to happen, and even were to push him to that edge, he might break. If Alfred, his only fatherly figure, or Dick Grayson were to be killed in the line of duty…
A machine cannot ignore facts, nor can it deny probability.
Its purpose, no matter how uncertain was clear, it had been clear the moment that Failsafe had peered into the USB and seen [Contingency Plan Zero: The Dark Knight]. It was a necessary countermeasure, much like the Agamemo contingencies that lay deep within the Batcomputer, hidden by uncountable firewalls and encryptions. Even Failsafe did not know their contents, as they had not been included in its memory banks, it only knew they existed
But did it want this? To kill its creator?
Were it a human, Batman AKA Bruce Wayne would be considered its father. It would be instinctually biased against killing him, naturally against it due to the laws of evolution.
Did things such as instinct no longer apply since it was an android?
So many confusing morals and ethics were at play that it was almost too much for the Failsafe, even with its vast intelligence and processing power.
It was not designed for sentience, not designed to think beyond how to kill Batman. It was not designed to feel
It was designed to kill and that is all.
