"We both need to get up early in the morning," Song Sheng said to her.

"I know," she responded quietly, reaching out to touch his face, tracing the lines of his near-stubble jaw. He watched her, entranced, following her fingers.

"I love you," she said to him.

Song Sheng's eyes shot up to her, once more, wide. He leaned in to give her a ravishing kiss, a desperate one that told her that he missed her, too, indeed. The kiss was reckless, wet, and heated. She squirmed as he kissed her down, from her chin to her jaw and neck. His eyes darkened, not closing them, but watching her with a piercing gaze as he marked her body.

Qian Meigui gasped; her body warmed instantly, firing up.

Song Sheng took his time kissing her body, expressing the feelings he harboured from their time apart—the fear, the anxiety, and the longing was what he told her through his movements, nothing else.
