Capítulo 2: New world
Shin stood up and looked around to see where he was, but all he saw was a field of beautiful flowers.
"Did I...get transported to another world?" he wondered aloud.
He glanced down at his body.
"Wh-what the hell? Where are my clothes?!"
Shin quickly covered himself with his hands.
"Hm, I see a house nearby. Maybe I can borrow some clothes there."
He ran toward the house.
An elf noticed him approaching.
"What's that?" she muttered.
As they got closer, both were shocked.
"A pure elf?!" Shin was stunned, as he had never seen a pure elf before.
"PER-PERVERT!" she yelled. "GRAND'DE O POSH!" The elf cast a spell that sent Shin flying.
Shin lost consciousness. The elf poked his cheek to see if he was still alive, then ran to her house and returned with some clothes.
"He-hey, wake up."
"GRAND'DE TRIC!" The elf cast an electric spell on him.
"AUGH!" Shin jolted awake, gasping in pain.
"Here's some clothes. I-I'm sorry," she stammered.
"Tha-thank you, miss." Shin put on the clothes she gave him.
"Wow, these clothes fit me wel—"
"AUEGH!" The elf shot an electrified net at him.
"WH-WHAT THE HELL?! LET ME OUT OF THIS!"
"Sorry, but I need to turn you over to the kingdom. I've never seen you before, and you were naked."
"Wa-wait! I'm from another world! I just got transported here!"
"That's strange; we haven't summoned any other-worlders."
"Please trust me! I'm from a place called Earth!"
"In that case, we'll visit the Church of the Goddess."
The elf carried Shin, placing him in a cart, and they traveled from the field through a forest, eventually reaching the kingdom.
At the gates, the elf spoke to the guards.
"Good afternoon, madam!" the guards greeted her.
"Thank you. I'd like to go to the Church of the Goddess."
"You may pass, madam. But...is that a man?"
"Yes, I found him naked in my field. He claims he's from another world."
"Th-that's impossible! We haven't summoned any other-worlders!"
"That's why I'm bringing him to see Priest Reoldo."
"If that's the case...did he mention which world he came from?"
"Yeah, hey, kid, what's your world called again?"
"It's called Earth! And I'm not lying!"
"Earth? That's odd. The last contact we had with Earthlings was 300 years ago—our ancestors helped them rebuild their world."
"If that's true, maybe he really was summoned here."
The guards stepped aside to let the elf pass. Shin looked around, marveling at the less advanced city with tall towers and medieval-style houses.
"Wow, this world looks amazing," he murmured.
"Shut your mouth, pervert."
"Wh-what?! Never mind…"
As they reached the church, Shin couldn't help but be awestruck by its architecture.
"Wow…"
The elf removed the net around Shin, and they stepped inside.
A priest descended from his seat and bowed to the elf.
"Greetings, Lady Fiona. May I ask why you are here?"
"Greetings, Priest Reoldo. I have some questions."
"I see. Is that your husband behind you? I didn't know you were into younger men," he laughed.
The elf blushed. "Wh-what? It's not like that!"
"He says he's from another world called Earth. But we haven't summoned anyone from other worlds in a long time—the last contact we had with Earth was 300 years ago!"
The priest adjusted his glasses, visibly shocked. "I see… Well, our world will experience an eclipse in the next four months, and our powers have been fading."
"Maybe this is a blessing from the Goddess."
"Excuse me, but I'm only 16! I can't be a hero!" Shin protested.
"There's only one way to find out," the priest said. "Please, Lady Fiona, and you, young man, follow me."
The priest opened a secret door leading downstairs. When they arrived, he lit a candle and chanted, "CHURCH OF LIGHT!" The entire space illuminated.
"Thi-this is…" Fiona stammered.
"Yes, the Altar of Enlightenment."
"I see…"
"Shin, please step here in the center," the priest directed.
Shin stepped into the center, standing on a circular stone platform.
"OMEGA DE'GRAND GOD OF ENLIGHTENMENT!" The priest cast a spell, causing the ground to tremble.
"Wha-what the hell?!"
"Stay still, young man. If you were truly summoned from another world, you shall receive the Goddess's enlightenment."
"Whoa, this is the first time I've seen this altar in use!" Fiona exclaimed.
Everyone went quiet as a glowing aura surrounded Shin, spinning faster and faster. The place shook more violently until, finally, the light began to enter Shin's body. He absorbed it until he passed out, collapsing on the ground.
"Agh…"
"It seems his body couldn't fully handle the Goddess's enlightenment," the priest observed.
"Does that mean he's really from another world?" Fiona asked.
"Yes. His role here is to become our hero."
"But he's just a kid!"
"A hero can be of any age. It's not our choice—it's the Goddess's will."
They lifted Shin's body, carrying him to a room and laying him on a bed.
Later, Shin awoke and came downstairs.
"Hello, hero. Please, come down," the priest greeted him.
"H-hero? Me?! B-but I'm only 16, and I haven't even had a girlfriend yet!"
The priest laughed. "Hahaha! Is that so? Lady Fiona can be your girlfriend!"
"Priest, stop teasing me! He's barely an adult!" Fiona stammered, blushing.
"Priest, my body feels strange. I feel stronger, and everything feels...light," Shin noted.
"That's the blessing of enlightenment. Are you ready to take on the role of our hero?"
"I'm not sure. Couldn't you summon a more experienced human from my world? I have no skills; I just get beaten up…"
"It's not our decision. The Goddess chose you."
"I see… Will I at least get to train? Even if I have this 'blessing,' I don't really know what it does. It only makes me feel different."
"Don't worry. Your trainer will arrive soon. Are you sure you're willing to become our hero?"
"I...I'm not sure. I don't really know…"
The priest smiled. "It's okay; it's a heavy burden to carry."
"Also, why did the Goddess choose me out of all humans in my world?"
"As I said, it's the Goddess's will, which I don't fully understand."
The priest took a deep breath.
"You're the chosen one."
Shin was stunned, nearly fainting.
"M-me, the chosen one?!"
