Capítulo 67: Chapter 67

With Sirius taking up the post of Potter Regent, Chad no longer had to worry about having to waste time dealing with the Ministry. His family property and businesses that had been taken advantage of since the lordship fell to James Potter could now be investigated properly.

Thanks to his earlier abduction of Rudolph Emersmitt, a low-level lackey in the Ministry tax department, he already had some solid leads for Sirius to start from. With a Lord of a prominent House asking questions, there was sure to be a more in-depth investigation than what Chad had seen since bringing it to Bones and Fudge's attention.

Since everything that had been looted from Dumbledore's office was still in quarantine, Chad didn't spend any time looking over all the fantastic magical gizmos or rare books. Though the Death Shroud would have been cool to use, it was not worth the possibility of Dumbles popping out of nowhere to find him with it.

After another day of making sure his muggle business side was taken care of, he said his goodbyes to Sirius and Crystal, then popped over to his personal Kingdom in Australia. Though there was no real infrastructure or population, King Chad still preened at his success, there was very little royalty left in the world after all.

Later today, Chad was set to meet with the Australian Government in Perth and talk about the thousands of people captured that had illegally crossed his borders. Though it was incredibly stupid to meet them in their own territory as a ruler, Chad had magical teleporting elves that could remain invisible on his side.

It was a blatant power play by the Australian government to force him to come to them, and normally, Chad would have told them to stick it up their arse. But such a doomed meeting would suit his needs, especially after the news had smeared his Kingdom for being tyrannical without the power to back up its actions.

He was almost one hundred percent positive that they would use this opportunity to try and shaft him somehow.

Chad had only used compulsions and bribes to win the right to succeed from Australia since thoroughly brainwashing them would just see them kicked out of office and new people elected. Having to continually change people's behaviour and beliefs would be very suspicious when they were specifically selected to fix the damage their predecessors caused.

Since Australia was part of the Commonwealth, such a scandal would eventually be made world news, his Kingdom's debut had already been controversial as it was. It had made the Australian government look like a joke, and they needed to try and repair their earlier divisive vote that had caused so much public outrage.

The lawyers he had recruited for his succession had continued to use the outdated laws to legally justify Chadtopia and keep the government from lawfully reclaiming the massive tract of land. However, with the new change of government representatives thanks to outraged voters, pressure was once again applied to the new Kingdom that didn't seem to have any military strength.

Chad still couldn't believe that the elves had named his Kingdom for him and everyone had just run with it. Though Chadtopia was cringe, his ego was large enough to accept it and just roll with the blatant criticism he would no doubt receive for it.

Since Chad knew Australia was going to do something, he decided to use this opportunity to justify a war with them. After all, the Australian magical community were already under his control, so how were the muggles going to take over a Kingdom when they couldn't find a capital to attack? The answer was to take the King out of play.

Chad planned to heavily protect himself magically from mundane attacks and then walk into the lion's den. He would also have everything filmed to use for propaganda and justification for legally taking over the entire island rich in minerals and natural resources.

Though he controlled the media to try and reduce the initial backlash of establishing his Kingdom, they had needed to report with some accuracy or be called out as fake news like CNN. They had still managed to blunt the damage, but when everyone was against you, it was like pissing into the wind.

The time had finally come, and a three-car convoy full of muggle-born wizards in suits accompanied him into the closest city to his lands for the meeting. Though his people wouldn't be able to blatantly use magic, they all had handguns and were impervious to bullets thanks to shielding charms.

If it came down to a firefight, lack of fatalities could easily be blamed on body armour. Not to mention that if all the witnesses died, Chad could edit the footage to suit his needs anyway.

Parliament House was located on Harvest Terrace in West Perth, and the drive there had been smooth since they were escorted the whole way by police. Clearing the roads of traffic made the ride there in a luxury limousine all the more enjoyable.

Their arrival was met with a mob of journalists and cameras flashing, trying to capture the man that had bought up the entire peninsula of Western Australia. Chad thumbing his nose at everyone by declaring himself King had also brought too much awareness for there to be no coverage of this occasion.

With his ad*lt illusion firmly in place, he exited his limousine to where an assistant was waiting to direct him to the meeting room. Though his magically created illusion was not tangible, he was still tall enough to interact with full-grown men.

The magic involved would also stop people from trying to touch him unnecessarily and expose the illusion. It was not an ideal solution, but full body transfiguration would have seen him exploding like his test thugs.

Already they were disrespecting him by not having someone important greet him, hell, the Prime Minister should be there to shake his hand. He was a King after all and was there on a diplomatic mission between their two countries.

With five people staying to keep their vehicles free from tampering and secure a retreat, five others surrounded him and walked into the building. All of them had body cams already recording their treatment and Chad couldn't help but laugh at how much they were underestimating him.

The unseen house-elves would make sure his men were not overwhelmed, and the snipers on top of nearby buildings under a disillusion charm would explain away how they would be able to pull off such an endeavour. Being surrounded and outnumbered in enemy territory would make an escape extremely unlikely.

Unfortunately for Australia, how would they be able to know who was part of Chadtopia? There were no photos to identify its residents or a single race to keep a lookout for, not to mention Australia was multicultural anyway. Chad couldn't help but smile in anticipation, this was going to be fun!

Chad was led to a room that held a large conference table in the centre with eight armed federal agents standing at attention by the walls, trying to look intimidating. At the table that could comfortably seat twenty people, three nondescript men sat in the middle on one side.

He recognised none of them, and they looked like any other corporate suit you would expect to see behind a desk. They could have at least produced the Western Australian Premier to add credence to this meeting!!

"I'm sorry, sir, but your men will have to wait outside." One of the armed men in the room said, meeting them before they could take more than a few steps into the room.

"Are you and the other people with guns going to be present?" Chad asked.

"Of course, we are here to ensure everyone's safety." The man replied.

"Then my bodyguards will also stay. More people to ensure everyone's safety."

"I'm afraid that is not possible. These men are completely unknown to us and pose a risk to the government officials here. Do they even have a license to carry their weapons? I'm afraid you will all need to surrender your weapons and be taken into custody." The officer asked, his hand hovering near his sidearm.

"Excuse me? Are you asking if my personal bodyguards, the men that protect the King of their country are allowed to carry weapons to do so? Are you an idiot? Does Australia allow mentally deficient people to carry guns?"

All six agents now had their hands on their guns ready to draw at the first sign of provocation. It looked like the bureaucrats wouldn't even have to say anything before things turned violent. Chad took three steps back, and his men once again surrounded him, their own hands on their guns.

"It seems like you only set this meeting up to kill me, can I take this as a declaration of war from Australia?" Chad shouted, pretending to slightly panic.

One of the self-important people sitting at the table stood up and tried to deescalate the situation.

"Everyone settle down, we are here to mediate our problems by talking, not violence. Mr Peverell, why did you think it necessary to bring armed men here today?" The unidentified smarmy bastard asked.

"Why did you?" Chad shot back.

"These are police officers, they are here to keep us safe." The still-unidentified person responded.

"They are 'Australian' police here to keep you safe, not me. They have already threatened my men and are ready to draw their guns on us without reason. I am the King of Chadtopia, and you dare to try and intimidate me with armed men and unlawfully arrest my guards? When is the Prime Minister getting here, it better be soon, or I am leaving!" Chad shouted dramatically, trying not to cringe when saying Chadtopia.

"Mr Peverell..."

"King Peverell, show some respect cretin!" Interrupted one of Chad's guards. The man deserved a reward for making the government lackeys in the room grimace at the rebuke.

"Buying up land and bribing members of Parliament hardly makes you royalty! Please stop this ridiculous farce, Mr Peverell."

"First of all, the British Treason Act of 1495 gives me the right. Hell, I am not even the first person to do so! Secondly, who the hell are you nobodies?"

"Ah yes, you are talking about Leonard Casley. I regret to inform you that he saw reason and has since rejoined Australia. We simply reminded him that since he was his own country, he was open to incursion by foreign forces.

As for who we are, I am the Minister of Foreign Affairs Bob Liddel, this is Mr Halls, a Judge appointed by the Governor-General, and this is the representatives of local government, Mr Lews."

Even though the three suits were named, Chad instantly forgot which one was which. They were simply not worth remembering, and by the direction of this meeting, not too far away from being fired.

"So no one of importance is here to talk about why thousands of your citizens illegally invaded my land with prohibited substances and committed terrorist acts? Or were they acting on your behalf?" Chad asked, deciding to turbocharge this farce of a meeting and get to the fun parts.

They didn't even have a military representative here for a show of force, just a few federal agents and some government bootlickers most likely appointed out of nepotism. They expected him to cave under a few threats of force, wrongly assuming he had no military presence to defend his Kingdom.

'This was going to be too easy.' Chad thought to himself.

"So you admit that you have kidnapped the peaceful protesters!" Shouted the judge, Mr Halls.
