He looked dazed at the girl whose face was red but her eyes felt.. Hungry! Or was he hallucinating.

"You know that I am a commoner right?" she asked out of nowhere that it took Ethan a few seconds to process her words and he nodded. 

"And I have been sold to a brothel!" she added with her nails digging deep into her skin when he frowned.

He held her hands and rubbed his fingers on the injured arm while looking at her with confusion.

"I even know that you have killed a man there! We have saved you Lia. Did you forget that?" she nodded, searching for ridicule, disgust or any sign of resentment towards her but she only saw confusion and worry.

"Then.." she fidgeted, her body slightly trembling, "you are a noble, a count at that! Do you think.." She closed her dry mouth trying to form words better but failed. Her eyes turned misty and tears were filling them when he blinked.
