“Ready for your birthday cake, babe?” Jake asked.

“I get birthday cake?”

“Of course,” Jimmy said. “That was one of the reasons why I was gone the other day. I had to drive to a gay-owned bakery to fetch it.”

Barry was touched. “You didn’t have to go to all that trouble.”

“The hell we didn’t,” Jake insisted.

Barry wasn’t sure why there was a need for a gay-owned bakery. Did it have pink icing or something? He guessed he was about to find out because Jimmy hailed the waitress and asked her to bring out their cake.

Barry’s first impression as the cake was carried toward him to a chorus of Happy Birthday to You was of its height and the fact it was plain white. Then he saw the three candles, which made him laugh. blue, red, with a purple one in-between.

“We didn’t think we’d get away with dick-shaped candles here,” Jake said.

Barry chuckled.

“Well, looks like the server has figured out we’re all fags and she’s given up on trying to bed us,” Liam said.
