"Hurry and come back, why aren't you home yet?" Nancy scolded David. He had promised that they would go out for Christmas dinner, but he still went to work earlier in the day and had even called to tell her that he would come back late. She was not going to stand for it.
"I'll need at least two hours till I finish," David tried to explain. He also didn't like being at work on Christmas.
"If you're not home in an hour, I will go back to my place," Nancy said and didn't wait for a reply before hanging up with a pout. She knew she wouldn't leave even if she had to wait for six hours, but she couldn't help but get annoyed that she had to spend Christmas by herself.
