Veni had found out that Commander Mabon was the prince's uncle. He had not known how to react to the news when it had come to light.
It had been the day when they had sentenced King Thress and the diviner from the Predor Kingdom to death. Veni had been stunned that day by many things -- but Mabon being the uncle to the dangerous prince had the trophy. Veni had felt betrayed. All this time -- all this time Mabon knew and had not said anything to him at all. They had shared a tent for crying out loud. They had planned the war and invasion together and still, secrets were being kept. He had even taken the commander as his uncle yet, this was what had come out of that trust Veni had given to Mabon.
It was disheartening to Veni.
