The man looked at the business card the woman had given him. Dean Savili, director of the Vanilla company. The man's eyebrows rose, he seemed to have heard the name of the company.
"Right, this company cooperates with the boss company," said the man. He inserted a business card and immediately entered the building.
This man is Alex, he was assigned by Rion to bring Magenta to his company because Rion wants to recruit Magenta to be his secretary. He initially rejected Rion's idea, how could a blind girl work as a secretary? But Rion said that he was intrigued by the news that the girl had the power to do anything.
Alex walked into a room and sat in the back seat. He saw Magenta begin to paint on stage skillfully. The people next to him whispered in admiration to see Magenta, moreover, he was painting with his eyes closed. Alex has actually been following Magenta ever since he did the ballet and he is totally blown away by her performance. He took back his words about Magenta not being able to be a secretary.
Drrrrrt drrrrrt drrrrrt! Alex chuckled annoyed because he was disturbed by the sound of his cellphone because he wanted to see Magenta's appearance until the end but his annoyed expression immediately changed when he saw Mr. Rion's name on his cellphone screen. He immediately came out of the room and picked up the phone without a second thought.
"Okay sir, I'll take her as soon as possible," Alex said with a nod.
Applause and boisterous cheers rang out from the audience when Alex returned to the room, he saw Magenta had finished his painting. He was fascinated by the results of Magenta's painting, a painting of a woman with shoulder-length hair and purple eyes with a bright smile but surrounded by many mouths, making the painting seem a little scary.
Alex immediately went backstage when he saw Magenta coming off the stage. Rion told him to immediately bring Magenta to the company, for some reason he was in such a hurry. Alex showed his business card when the guard barred him from entering Magenta's room, the guard's face immediately changed, and let him in.
"Aren't you the one from earlier?" Dean said in a high tone seeing the man in front of him enter easily, she called the guards but no one entered at all. Magenta who was sitting could see the man who met them in the parking lot through the mirror in front of her.
"Sorry I didn't introduce myself respectfully because of what happened earlier."
Alex smiled then took out a business card and gave it to Dean. Dean rudely accepted the business card and instantly his face changed so that his hand subconsciously covered his mouth.
"I came here because my boss wanted to recruit Magenta as an employee in our company,"
Magenta and her mother are shocked to hear that. This is the first time anyone wants to ask Magenta to work as an employee, so far Magenta has only appeared to entertain people.
"Is your boss not wrong? I'm a blind girl," said Magenta, she turned and stared blankly ahead.
"If my boss has given the order then it will not be wrong," said Alex. He took out a file from his bag and handed it to Dean. Dean accepted the file and covered his mouth again in surprise.
'Stevano company employment contract'
Dean looked at Alex and then back at the file in front of her. She still couldn't believe that the Stevano company wanted to recruit her daughter, the biggest coal company in the country. Companies that have many subsidiaries and other businesses.
"Hmm,"
Dean cleared her throat and tried to act casual. She read the contract and her mouth opened again when she saw the salary offered by Stevano's company.
"The contract can be read first because I have provided the braille one," Alex said as he took out another file containing braille, a letter used for blind people.
Magenta started looking around for the file. She is grateful to obey her mother's words to learn braille so that the play can run perfectly. Just like her mother, Magenta's mouth fell open when she got to the paycheck.
"What do I do as a secretary? There's not much a blind girl can do," Magenta said after reading the contract for not specifying what she would do in the contract.
"That will be explained further by my boss. But I believe you can do anything with that ability right?" said Alex.
Magenta chuckled, she forgot for a moment that she was recruited because of her abilities, who would want to recruit a blind girl without powers? She looked at the man in front of her who was looking confusedly at herself while laughing.
Mother's phone rings and Magenta sees her mother's slightly panicked face. She saw Alex gesturing for mom to pick up the phone. Mom left the room, Magenta could hear her mother's voice that sounded hesitant, I don't know what happened.
"Ah sorry I haven't introduced myself, introduce my name is Alex Gelvana, secretary to the boss who will recruit you," Alex introduced himself with a smile.
Magenta nodded flatly. The man who was in front of him and introduced himself as Alex was quite an old man maybe almost fifty years old but his appearance was still manly and very dignified. Magenta wanted to know what the CEO of the company that hired her would look like if his secretary was so authoritative.
"How?" Alex asked as Dean returned to the room. Dean looked confused, Alex stopped Dean who wanted to talk because his cell phone was ringing.
"When will I be performing next? I haven't changed yet," Magenta said as she looked at her mother. Her mother didn't answer, she was silent while pacing.
"How was that?" said Alex who had finished with his cell phone.
"Okay, I'll take it," said Dean.
"Mom, you haven't discussed it with me," Magenta said, surprised by her mother's answer.
"I'm going out, you guys can talk about it first. But my boss is not a patient person," said Alex, he picked up the phone indicating that it was his boss who just called him.
"I don't want to take it," Magenta said firmly. Somehow her hunch said it wasn't a good thing to accept this offer. Working in a company is not a talent, is it? She didn't want to be humiliated there.
"Since when can you refuse?" her mother said, she grabbed Magenta's shoulder and glared at her.
"We are going to be rich, when will you be recruited by a big company?"
"But I have absolutely no idea what I'm going to do there? What if I am humiliated?" Magenta said in a trembling voice, she dared to look her mother in the eye intently. She bit her lip to hold back the fear of seeing her mother's red eyes which somehow always made her feel uncomfortable.
"You want that person to suffer? I haven't played with my toys in a long time."
"Don't touch my father!" said Magenta angrily. Magenta's hand gripped her mother's collar.
"Therefore, follow my orders if you want your beloved father to be well," my mother said slowly but sharply. She removed Magenta's hand from her collar roughly and immediately straightened her clothes when she heard Alex's footsteps entering the room.
"I'll take the offer," Mom said as Alex raised an eyebrow.
Magenta couldn't contain her emotions, her face still showing anger with her hands tightly clenching her skirt. Her white eyes made her gaze look empty yet terrifying at the same time.
"Good choice," Alex said to Magenta while reloading a file that was near Magenta. She didn't care about Magenta who seemed to be staring at him intently, there was no way the girl would know where she was standing right?
"I canceled your performance today," Dean said. She held Magenta's hand to stand up. Dean squeezed Magenta's hand hard because Magenta didn't want to stand up at all, her face still showed that she was angry.
"Follow me," Dean whispered. She forced Magenta's hand to follow Alex out of the room. Magenta saw her mother who was very excited, she must be very happy because she would earn a lot of money from selling her. Magenta rolled her eyes annoyed to hear her mother's cell phone ringing continuously, she saw her mother only answered the call briefly and walked back excitedly following Alex.
Magenta POV on
"What if bad news gets out about me because mom canceled my appearance?" I said as I got into the car. I still couldn't understand my mother's decision, which I thought was too hasty.
"That won't happen, I'll take care of everything as usual. You just need to be nice in front of your boss, don't make any mistakes," my mother retorted sharply.
I clenched my fists tightly. If my power could kill people without being caught, i would have killed my mother long ago.
"You'll probably never appear on stage again. Isn't that what you wanted all along, right?" said my mother, looking at me in the rearview mirror.
I really don't like performing on stage but working for that company somehow as my mom sold me even though my mom has sold me all along, I winced laughing at myself.
The car stopped in front of a large company. I saw Alex get out of his car and open the car door for me. He held out his hand to me to lead me out. With a sour face, I got out of the car. I don't know why it's so hard to control my emotions now. I stared at the building in front of me. 'Stevano Company', was what was written on the large board in front of the building. I saw my mother trying to be normal when she saw a very large building in front of her.
We entered the building, many employees bowed their heads respectfully to Alex. Alex returned their greeting with a smile. I saw the confused look of the employee who saw Alex lead me.
"Isn't she Magenta Savili?" whispered an employee to his friend.
"Who is that?" said his friend confused.
"You do not know? She is quite famous these days, she is a blind girl but can do anything," said her friend again.
"Ah, the girl who plays the piano for the orphanage we fund?" said his friend because he just remembered. His friend nodded.
"But what is he doing here, he even came with Alex. Is boss Rion going to have an event?"
His friend shook his head and they left. I was a little surprised to hear them talking, so the orphanage where I played the piano yesterday was one of the places this company funded? Are they interested in me from there?
I continued walking while being guided by Alex, I was trying to be able to look straight ahead even though my neck was starting to hurt. I wanted to look left and right but that's not what blind girls usually do. We got into the elevator. I saw my mother's annoyed expression because there were so many people in the elevator, in her heart she must be sneering at not being treated specially by Alex.
We got out of the elevator, I saw a deserted hallway, there was a chair and table complete with a computer and a phone on the table, it seemed to be his secretary's desk, where Alex worked.
Alex knocked on the door before hearing an answer from inside. Alex immediately entered and bowed respectfully. I was a little surprised when the man who was originally staring at the window turned around. He's beyond my expectations, he's still young to be a CEO and he's handsome, I honestly hate to admit it, but he's so handsome. Thick eyebrows with a hard jaw plus black eyes that are ready to hypnotize anyone who dares to look into his eyes.
