Capítulo 10: 10. Helfer...

"WHAT?!!" Roxanne screamed her tongue out, "How the hell did you end up kissing a man you just met?? Erina, of all the craziest things you've done, this is the maddest."

"Wait, don't tell me he forced himself on you did he? Did he maybe use his power as boss to threaten and force you into doing that? Because if he did, then we are heading to the police station right this instant."

"No, no, he didn't. In fact, in a way, he asked for my permission... And__ and I gave it to him."

"ERINA!!"

"I know, I know, it's stupid, it's crazy, I know, but... I don't know" She buried her face in her palm in frustration. "I just, I just feel some kind of connection with him."

"Erina, you also felt connection with Harry in highschool, and even Gray, whom by the way, hasn't been two weeks since you broke up with, you felt connections with those guys too. But how did those connections end?"

"Well just because I've failed twice doesn't mean I'll fail again." Roxanne flinched as she snapped back at her.

"Are you seriously getting angry at me right now? You are yet to heal from your broken heart, and I'm just looking out for you, and you're angry at me? Harry was scum, and Gray was no better."

"That doesn't mean he will be one too... Just because I've failed at love twice doesn't mean I can't love again."

*Scoffs* "Are you kidding me right now? You just met the guy, and you're already in love? Aren't you being delusional?"

"No, I'm not!!" She retorted. "He's nice, he's kind, he's considerate, he's a good listener, he's charming, he's calming, he's comforting, and comfortable, what's there not to love?"

Roxanne was seething with frustration, what in the world was wrong with her best friend? How come she is so naive and innocent, even though she's had her heart broken twice? How can she still fall again just like that?

"He__ He's all that?" She asks in a lower tone, and Erina looks up at her, and she could see that twinkle in her eyes. 'oh you silly girl'

"Yeah, he's all that, and yes I've only just met him today, but, I can feel it, deep down in my heart. I can tell he's so much more." She stands up from where she sat and walks over to Roxy, taking her hands in hers, mildly squeezing them.

"I know, I know what you're scared of Roxy, but... I don't know how to explain it but... He's different. He's different from Harry, and Gray. He's nothing like them. I even told him about my story, and he wasn't disgusted. He called me a fairy."

"Isn't that a bit cheesy?" Roxy cringes.

"Roxy..." Erina draws, shaking her best friend's shoulder. "I'm telling you he's different. And when he kissed me... Oh, Roxy, I loved Gray's Kisses, but_ I swear, nothing compares to what I felt today. There was an electrifying spark."

"Oh! A Spark... Hahaha" The lady laughed out loud, how could her friend be so simple?

"I swear, I felt it. I'm sure he felt it too. Like his kiss lit up something inside us both. He's different, believe me." How could she explain this to her, that feeling was real. The spark, she didn't just dream it, she felt it, and when she looked at him, she knew he felt it too, like two naked wires touched each other.

"Okay, Mrs. Spark, let's say I believe you. What makes you sure he's serious about you? I don't want you getting hurt again."

"I won't get hurt again, I promise." For some reason, she was sure of this fact. He didn't seem like he would ever hurt her.

Roxanne didn't know what to say any longer, there was clearly no talking her out of this. As much as she wished all this was true, and that Reuel Caddel was a decent man, and the right one for her best friend, she also knew it could all be a facade.

And sometimes a person needs to learn her lessons the hard way to become wiser and stronger.

"So, are you guys a couple now??"

"OH Helfer, you should have seen her, beautiful woman. She's gorgeous."

*I Have heard those words before.*

"You know Helfer, she's really cute. It wasn't so hard to make her fall for me."

*Alas, another poor soul,*

"Come here boy," he picks up his pet iguana, Helfer.

*I would rather you treat me as a companion and not a pet, I am not a dog, do refrain from calling me boy... If only I could tell you this.*

"You know Helfer, she's kind of different. I'm almost feeling bad that I'll have to break her heart. You know."

*well that is different. You Feel bad?*

"I mean, there's some kind of innocence around her, she also seems to have had it rough in life, I do feel pity for her too. But that's all it is... Pity..." He gently strokes the dorsal crest of the brown-skinned iguana.

There were times when the lizard wished he could actually talk to the man, like just give him a piece of his mind, but Helfer the lizard was just a lizard. And Lizards don't talk. So all the poor thing could do was nod. Even though he had thousands of words to say out loud.

"Because all girls are the same... They'll leave and break me if I don't do it first. And I'll never let that happen again." He was never gonna shed a single tear for a woman again. Never gonna let a woman ruin him again.

"Oh! Did I tell you, Helfer? When I touch her, I can swear I feel a spark." The Lizard jolted on his body, it's odd-eyes dilated at the man's words. "Woah, little man, why do you seem excited about my spark?"

*Well, are you joking or do you mean it? Did you really feel a spark? You have never felt a spark before...* Oh he wanted to ask all the questions, but all he could do was nod and raise his tail like an idiot.

"Like when I kissed her, and trust me, I enjoyed it... Maybe a little too much so. When we kissed, it wasn't undeniable that I felt it, an electrifying spark deep in my veins... She's that sweet."

*You idiot, she is not just sweet, she is probably the one you have been waiting for. She is probably your other half. And to think you were planning on breaking the heart of the only woman who could cause a spark inside you. I do not know if you are dumb or just really dumb.*

"Oh that's right, I need to set a reminder." He picks up his phone and opens the calendar. "today's date is fifteen, since we're in January now, that means... On the uhh... Fifteenth of April will make it three months." He sets the reminder for 9 o'clock of fifteenth of April, "What?" he wonders, as he sees the weird way Helfer was staring at him.

"oh please, don't give me that look, you know the rules. Never date anyone for more than three months. It's easier to end things that way."

*Yes, you are just really dumb*

"So, my dear White, starting from today, I'll be the perfect prince charming and treat you like a princess... And on the fifteenth of April... I'll break you like the heartless sicko that I am."
