Capítulo 4: Chapter 04: First Customers

Lumine paused as she walked the short and narrow hallway of the cottage just outside the door to the bathroom. Renovations had gone exceedingly well with Kaveh's assistance and they were able to update and expand much of the cottage cafe. Curiously though, Furina refused to take the bedroom and bathroom Lumine had helped design especially for her. She stated it would make more sense to have a guest room for someone such as Neuvillette visiting, but Lumine couldn't help but think it was because Furina did indeed want to be closer to her.

She leaned against the wall opposite of the bathroom as she could hear Furina softly singing. She strained to make out the words but soon was lost in the soothing melody, closing her eyes and letting herself relax just for once. Furina's soft, melodic voice filled the air and Lumine felt peace for the first time in a long time.

If she could sit here listening to Furina sing forever, perhaps she would be able to find true happiness in this place far from home.

If only-

"Lumine! Are you okay? What are you doing?" Paimon's shrill voice interrupted her thoughts, her eyes snapping open.

"Shh!" She hissed, grabbing Paimon and covering her mouth.

The last thing she needed was for Furina to think she was creepy, and leave her to go and stay with Neuvillette.

Her mouth went dry as Furina's singing was abruptly cut off, the sound of water moving and splashing as Furina exited the tub. Before Furina could open the door, Lumine sprinted down the stairs with Paimon, nearly slipping on the last one.

Paimon bit her hand and floated up, giving Lumine a look that had Lumine blushing.

"Lumine? Is everything alright?" She heard Furina call from upstairs and Lumine made a quiet, distressed noise.

"Everything's fine, Princess." She quickly shouted before groaning and hitting her head on the counter.

Fighting gods and monsters was easy.

When had her life turned her into a blushing maiden?

Oh, right... a pretty girl with a heart of gold and voice of the heavens.

Lumine contemplated impaling herself on her sword as Furina stepped down into the dining room in a simple white, ruffled dress that had a light blue corset, her hair half tied back in an adorable blue ribbon bow.

"Are you alright? We can push back the opening another day if you'd like." Furina said, tilting her head and Lumine nodded against the counter before composing herself and straightening.

"No! I'm alright!" Lumine said with a wide smile that Furina hesitantly returned.

"Well, alright. Should we make anything more?" Furina fretted, checking the display they had made with miniature tea cakes in various shades of blue and macaroons they had made early that morning.

"Everything will be fine! Whatever happens, happens!" Lumine said with a cheery confidence she didn't quite have.

In truth, she didn't know if they would even have any customers today. She didn't advertise the cafe anywhere, too worried about drawing undue attention with threats of Furina's safety looming on the horizon. But she couldn't just not open the cafe and arouse Furina's suspicions, not after she had spent time gathering supplies and renovating to have matching furniture and gleaming wood floors.

But as she saw Furina gaze disappointingly at the door as the hours went on, perhaps it would do well to invite a few friends.

"Ugh. This is boring. Can Paimon eat all the food now? It'd be bad to let it go to waste and you haven't paid the Paimon Tax this week!" Paimon moaned as the late afternoon sun shone through the gleaming windows Furina was currently staring out, softly touching the swirling flowers she had painted on the glass panes yesterday.

Lumine sighed before reaching under the counter to grab a basket, filling it with a majority of the tea cakes and macaroons they had made, along with a sharp knife and some kindling for the fire. She threw in flour and a few jars of seasoning before walking around the counter to tap on Furina's shoulder.

"I have an idea, have you ever been fishing before?" Lumine asked and Furina shook her head.

"No, I've never really had the time. I did try surfing though and found it enjoyable." Furina said and Lumine smiled.

"Well, I'll teach you how to fish then if you teach me how to surf. It's a nice day for fishing, and if we pass any fisherman or adventurers on the way down to the beach, we can tell them of the cafe." Lumine said and Furina brightened, nodding eagerly while Paimon moaned and laid on Lumine's head.

"Shouldn't Furina stay behind and watch the cafe if anyone comes by?" Paimon said and Lumine cast a glare upwards.

"Oh, Paimon's ri-" Furina started to say and Lumine grabbed her hand, determined to have some time with Furina.

"If she's so worried, she can watch the cafe." Lumine said and Paimon flew over to the counter, giving her a smug look.

"That sounds like a good idea! Paimon will take her tax herself." Paimon said and Lumine sighed.

They'd have to refresh the cryobox soon but it would be worth it to have some alone time with Furina.

Lumine waved her off and sacrificed a few of the desserts she packed by putting them on the counter for Paimon, still holding Furina's hand before leading her out.

Furina kept close to her as they descended down the grassy hill to the beach, Lumine keeping an eye out for any stray enemies. When they reached the sandy shore, Lumine found a large rock jutting out into the water that would be perfect.

Furina looked out into the water with some trepidation and Lumine gently put the basket down, grabbing a pole from her inventory and coming to stand behind Furina.

"It's alright, I've got you." Lumine whispered, putting the pole in Furina's hand, already equipped with bait before wrapping her arms around Furina, hoping to be a steady, reassuring presence at her back.

Furina shivered in her hold, leaning back against her as the sea breeze caused her dress to billow slightly. Lumine smiled against her hair, rocking Furina slightly as she showed Furina how to cast, moving Furina's arms with hers.

The fishing line sailed forward a great distance, landing with a plop and a splash and Lumine squeezed Furina's bare shoulders once before stepping to the side to better see her.

"Oh, that wasn't so bad. I was afraid I would hook myself. Thank you, Lumine. Now what?" Furina asked with shining eyes and Lumine giggled, preoccupied with retrieving her own rod and casting.

"Now we wait, Rina." Lumine said, sitting when she cast her line.

She blinked and looked up at Furina when Furina hadn't joined her or said anything, an electric silence filling the air. She looked in confusion when she noticed Furina's face was bright red, until she realized what she had let slip out, the affectionate nickname she had been calling Furina in her head suddenly out.

"I, sorry, if you don't like-" Lumine tried to stutter out and Furina waved her arms, her fishing pole clattering to the ground before she knelt.

"No! I like it! It's just… no one has ever given me a nickname like that before. It's only been titles and roles." Furina said quietly and Lumine smiled.

"Well, I'm still going to call you Princess, but I rather like Rina for my dear friend." Lumine said and Furina grew even more flustered, making a little noise.

"Well then, then, I want to give you a nickname too! Lumi!" Furina squeaked out and Lumine blinked, her face growing hot.

No one had called her that since her brother, and certainly not a pretty girl.

"Okay." Lumine let out an embarrassing squeak before squawking, lunging to grab Furina's abandoned pole that was slipping away.

"No! My pole!" Furina cried out as it was pulled away into the water and Lumine giggled, patting her shoulder as she had a despondent look on her face.

"It's alright, we can just use mine." Lumine said before hers was nearly wrenched from her lax grip.

She started reeling and tugging on her line only for it to snap. She huffed and set about putting a new string on it before trying to hand it off to Furina.

"No, I'm alright watching you." Furina said and Lumine shrugged, trying to hide her disappointment at not having an excuse to be close to Furina.

To Lumine's surprise, when she sat back down, Furina pressed against her shoulder, her legs folded to the side as she leaned close to Lumine.

"Not a fan of fishing, are you?" Lumine asked in amusement and Furina bit her lip, looking at her lap.

"It just seems cruel, ripping them from their home. Or suffocating them and then eating them." Furina said and Lumine hummed.

"I'm sure your dragon eats plenty of fish, but I can understand why you are uncomfortable. I would offer to put them in an aquarium in the cafe, but I don't think you would like that either." Lumine said and Furina made a face with a small pout.

"No, it's mean, and the salon members wouldn't like it either." Furina said before looking at Lumine apologetically.

"I'm sorry if I'm ruining something you like." Furina said and Lumine nudged her.

"You aren't, Princess, I promise. I just wanted something peaceful to do with you and get your mind off of things. I only tend to fish if I'm competing with a certain ginger harbinger." Lumine said and Furina hummed in contemplation.

"I hope he's alright. He did much for Fontaine while I just stood by and watched." Furina said and Lumine whipped her head to look at her, throwing the pole forward and embracing her as Furina's eyes watered.

"Absolutely not. For 500 years you sacrificed everything to keep your people safe, Rina. I saw all of your hardship and sorrow. That was not nothing. I won't hear you slandering my dear friend." Lumine whispered harshly, squeezing Furina tightly.

Furina sucked in a breath, tiny hands coming to place themselves cautiously on Lumine's back. Lumine enjoyed the tender moment before tensing as Furina gasped and tore herself away.

Before Lumine could react Furina was sprinting across the water, her salon members running out in front of her. Lumine's eyes widened as she saw a small boy, laden with heavy shells about to enter the water. She sprinted down the rock and beach as Furina tackled him to the ground, safely preventing him from walking to his untimely end.

"Stop! I want to be with Papa and Thelxie." the boy cried out as Furina shook and held him close, helping him sit up as she kneeled on the sand and tore off the shells that were tied to him.

"No. I won't let anyone drown under my watch." Furina heaved and the boy looked at her with a sad, pleading look, growing quiet.

"Where is your mother, Little One?" Lumine gently asked, kneeling in the sand next to them, the salon members worriedly bubbling in a circle around them.

The boy pointed up the hill to a group of houses.

"Maman is meeting with a client. She doesn't know I'm here." The boy said quietly and Lumine stood, offering them both a hand up.

"Well, I'm sure she is quite worried. Let's bring you home." Furina said quietly, guiding the boy by the small of his back.

They walked up to a small cottage, knocking on the door. A woman with brown hair and a long blue dress opened it frantically.

"Lescot!" She cried out, embracing her son and cradling him closely.

"He…" Lumine started awkwardly, unsure of how to tell the poor mother what her son tried to do.

"Where were you? I went to your room and you were gone!" The mother cried and the boy shook.

"I'm sorry Maman! I…" The boy cried and the mother's face was stricken with grief and a grave understanding.

"Your father and Thelxie again?" She asked quietly, tears streaming down her face as the boy nodded.

She looked up at Furina and Lumine.

"Thank you. Thank you for bringing him home." She said and Furina nodded.

"Please, you must come in. Let me make you tea, it's the least I can do." The woman said, wiping her face and picking up her son.

Furina hesitated but Lumine nodded and pushed Furina forward, not wanting Furina to think any of this was her fault or anything of the sort.

The woman puttered around the small kitchen after gesturing for Furina and Lumine to sit down.

"You have a lovely home, Madam Destree." Furina said softly and the woman gave her a sad smile, putting the kettle on to boil.

"Please, call me Zuria. I am surprised you know me, Lady Furina." Zuria said and Furina smiled.

"You have quite the eye for art, and I have appreciated your exhibitions, so please, call me Furina." Furina said and the woman nodded.

"Thank you La… Furina. I don't know when the next exhibition will be. I moved out of the Court of Fontaine after my husband's death. I thought a change of scenery would be better for us but…" Zuria said as she poured the tea, sitting with her son in her lap, unwilling to let him go.

"I'm sorry, Maman." Lescot said once more and Zuria put her chin on his head.

"You mentioned Thelxie, is that your friend? I'm Lumine by the way. Furina and I own Cafe du Lac nearby. It just opened, and we would love to have you two any time." Lumine said and Zuria gave a small smile.

"Ah, I thought I saw smoke near the lake. A cafe sounds lovely." Zuria said and Lescot squirmed out of her hold, running to his room.

Zuria watched him with sadness in her eyes, tracing the rim of her cup.

"Thelxie isn't real, I'm afraid. It's a water imp, a creature made up by my child and his affliction." She said and Lumine frowned.

"Is he suffering from an illness?" She asked and Zuria nodded.

"I take it you are not from around here, Traveller. Lescot has what is known as Loneliness Syndrome. The lines between reality and fiction are often blurred for him." Zuria explained before Lescot shuffled out of his room, a book clutched to his chest.

"Thelxie is the Prince of the Water Imps, and his kingdom was taken from him, along with his crown! I have to get it back." Lescot said and Zuria closed her eyes. Furina looked closely at the sketchbook, the child's drawings filling the page.

"Well, we can't have that now. As the former Archon of Fontaine, I will personally see to it that he gets his crown and kingdom returned safely. In fact, I will have Monsieur Neuvillette help make it so. Please come to our cafe in two days for the Prince's celebration." Furina said, standing and bowing to the small child.

"Oh no, I couldn't possibly ask you to trouble yourself like that." Zuria said, standing as well and Furina gave her a dazzling smile.

"It is no trouble at all. I might not be your archon, but I still care for my subjects." Furina said and Lumine couldn't help but fall in love with her even more.

"But," Zuria weakly protested and Furina waved a hand shushing her.

"If you feel so inclined, an exchange then, perhaps. The cafe could use some art. Please bring anything that catches your eye." Furina said and Zuria nodded with determination.

"I will, thank you both." Zuria said and Lescot nodded.

"I can't wait for Thelxie's party!" He said and Lumine breathed a sigh of relief at Furina's clever thinking, giving the boy both a distraction and something to look forward to.

"Well then, we'll be on our way to start the preparations. It was nice meeting you." Lumine said, standing and waving, taking Furina's hand as her smile began to become strained.

Zuria and Lescot waved them goodbye, and Lumine led Furina out of the cottage and to the cafe, the sun setting over the sea.

They walked for a few moments in heavy silence before, just when the cafe could be seen in the distance, Lumine pulled Furina into her, hugging her tightly.

"You're amazing, Furina." Lumine said sincerely and Furina shook before letting out a watery sob, unable to control herself.

"No, I'm not. I'm a fraud. What if I didn't save him in time? Neuvillette was the one that stopped them from drowning. And… I'm sorry.. I'm making this about me, and-"Furina tried to pull away, tears streaming down her face as she hiccupped and tried to hold in sobs.

Lumine shushed her, drawing her back in and rocking her as she guided Furina's head to her shoulder.

"You are a hero, and so wonderful. I am lucky you gave me a chance after what I put you through. I promise, you won't have to be lonely anymore." Lumine said before jumping as Neuvillette quietly cleared his throat.

"I echo every word of what the Traveller has said, Furina, and I am lucky that you have given me another chance as well. My apologies for interrupting, I had wanted to see how your first day had gone. The excitement in your letters was a bit contagious." Neuvillette said and Furina sniffed, furiously wiping her eyes.

"You two are both…. I'm fine, I promise. It was just unexpected." Furina tried to say with a wobbly smile and Lumine hugged her once more, Neuvillette placing a hand on Furina's shoulder.

"It's okay to not be okay Furina. Especially now. I am here for you." Lumine said and Neuvillette nodded, squeezing Furina's shoulder.

"As am I. May you never be alone or burdened again." Neuvillette said and as they walked towards the cafe, Lumine could only hope that Furina would sleep peacefully tonight.

Lumine woke in a cold sweat, looking around the room for Furina in the early morning light. Her heart raced when she found her bed empty and strained to hear if Furina was perhaps in the bathroom or downstairs talking to Neuvillette as he had spent the night. When she heard nothing from the bathroom and Neuvillette's draconic, rumbling, wet snore, she threw off the blankets and rushed outside, summoning her sword.

She walked around the cottage, looking for any signs of a struggle, trying to fit back the rising tide of fear filling her. She came to a stop as she found Furina sitting on the grassy ground, a tiny gray kitten greedily lapping at a mixture of milk and meat on a plate.

Furina looked up at her with an apologetic smile.

"I woke early and wanted to get some fresh air. I found her stuck in a bramble bush and crying." Furina said and Lumine put her sword in the ground in relief before crouching down next to her, tucking a few frizzy strands behind Furina's ear.

"I'm just glad you're safe. I take it we have a new, permanent resident of the cafe?" Lumine asked with a smile and Furina grinned, holding the kitten aloft with one of her hair ribbons tied around their neck.

"Lumi, I would like to introduce you to Lady Antoinette De L'Eau." Furina said proudly as the kitten let out a tiny, almost haughty meow before licking its lips. Lumine giggled and shook their paw and Furina gently placed them back down.

"Certainly a far better mascot than Paimon." Lumine said before startling as the bedroom window opened and Paimon let out a "Hey!" of indignation, glaring down at them.

"Paimon isn't a mascot! If Paimon was a mascot, she'd be getting paid!" Paimon squawked and Lumine laughed.

"You get paid in food! You're lucky I still have things in my inventory after you cleared out the cryobox yesterday!" Lumine shouted and Paimon stuck out her tongue.

"Paimon was bored! But Paimon will take her compensation now!" Paimon shouted back and Lumine snorted.

"Fine, fine, do you happen to know what Neuvillette might like for breakfast, Rina?" Lumine asked and Furina giggled.

"A bowl of water." She said and Lumine let out an incredulous laugh.

The thought of not actually liking any food when there were so many sweets in this world was ridiculous.

"Not even with some fruit or something?" Lumine asked and Furina shrugged.

"He wouldn't want the fruit to taint the water, but will eat whatever we make him, I'm sure." Furina said, the kitten following her as she tugged Lumine towards the cottage.

When they entered, they saw Neuvillette putting on his coat and straightening it.

"Thank you for your hospitality last night, but I'm afraid I need to be going now. There's an early court case to prepare for, I'm afraid." Neuvillette said, a soft, apologetic look on his face as Furina looked at him in disappointment, Lady Antoinette meowing from below.

"Do you have time for breakfast at least before you go? We would like to make you something." Lumine said and Neuvillette shook his head regretfully.

"I'm afraid not. Though I would be delighted by anything the two of you make, I really need to pick up a few documents from my office before I go to the Opera. I have left the document you requested on your bed, Furina, and I wish you two a better day today." Neuvillette said, with a small half bow and nod to both of them before leaving.

"What document did you ask Monsieur Neuvillette for, Furina?" Paimon asked, swaying and floating as the kitten stared at her oddly.

"Oh, I wanted him to declare that Prince Thelxie of the Water Imp Kingdom officially has his crown and kingdom back under Fontainian law." Furina said and Lumine smiled, her heart swelling.

"I have a crown from an old play I did about a sea queen that I thought might work and asked Neuvillette to bring it by tomorrow as well." Furina said and Paimon crossed her arms with an odd smile.

"Wow, you always think of everything, don't you, Furina?" Paimon said and Furina blushed a bit, drawing into herself.

"It's why she's so great. Now come on and tell me what you want to eat." Lumine said, enjoying how Furina's blush grew even more.

She could only hope the day would be better as Neuvillette had wished them.

Lumine glanced up from the narwhal shaped cookies she was currently icing, having found spare metal in her inventory and shaping it with the forge in her teapot, when she heard a knock at the cafe door. She didn't know when she would see Childe again, but the conversation yesterday did have her worrying about him and wanting to somehow send him something.

Furina dusted off her hands on her apron and went to open the door when no further knocks were heard as Lumine called out for them to enter.

Before Furina could reach the door, the door swung open to reveal three familiar faces.

"Oh, ho, ho, so the rumors are true." Lyney said with a flourish, taking off his hat as he stepped inside, his siblings following behind.

Lumine felt a cold rush run through her.

"What rumors?" She asked harshly.

Had the members of the group wanting to attack Furina found out where they were already?

Lyney gave her a look of surprise, taken aback by her sudden demeanor before softening in realization.

"The rumors that you two had opened a cafe. I almost didn't believe him at first." Lyney said as Lynette gave a small wave.

"My brother has been spending too much time in the Fortress of Meropiede's office lately with the Duke, and I heard there would be sweets." Lynette said and Lyney gave her a scandalized look before sighing.

"Lynette! Try not to overdo the sweets again and expose your dear brother. And I'll have you know, that although Wriothesley does often have interesting information and gossip for our information network, Monsieur Neuvillette was the informant." Lyney said, casting a glance to Lumine.

Lumine sighed in relief, her shoulders sagging. Neuvillette would not endanger Furina, nor would Wriothesley, she suspected. And she had mentioned to Neuvillette that she had been thinking of inviting the siblings, just so they would have trusted customers for Furina.

Still, it was a good thing that Lyney had not heard about it from the intelligence network, as it meant they were still unknown and well protected.

"Wriothesley is it now? Not the "Damn Duke"?" Lynette teased, crouching down to pet Lady Antoinette, her own tail softly swaying.

"Lynette!" Lyney groaned, dramatically taking a seat before pulling a crown of gold and seashells out of his top hat, Rosseland poking out and climbing out after the crown to go and greet the kitten.

"We ran into Monsieur Neuvillette at the Opera, and he asked us to bring this to you. After we heard that you two had opened a cafe, we were eager to be your first customers. After all, I was your first in Fontaine, right, Lumine?" Lyney said with a wink and Lumine snorted, especially when she saw Furina's cute, upset face.

"I think Furina was my first in Fontaine, especially after a grand introduction." Lumine said with a wink and Lyney sighed.

"Fair enough. I hope you are doing well, Lady Furina. Father has spoken of you quite a bit lately." Lyney said and Furina stiffened, a brief look of fear crossing her face before regret took it over with a wry smile.

"I am, Mister Lyney. I hope you and your siblings are as well. You did much for Fontaine during the incident. I can not thank you enough and I apologize once more for falsely accusing you so long ago. Please, let me make whatever you'd like, free of charge." Furina said and Lyney waved her off.

"It's alright, it all worked out in the end, and we were able to solve the mysterious disappearances. But, I'm sure some Pate de Fruit and Conch Madeline wouldn't go amiss for my siblings and I." Lyney said as Freminent finally sat beside him, Pers clutched tightly in his lap.

"Coming right up. Would you like tea or coffee?" Furina asked with a too wide smile and the siblings chorused "tea".

As Furina came back around the counter to begin assembling, Lumine subtly squeezed her hand.

No matter how much Arlecchino had helped, Lumine would not allow her to terrorize Furina.

Furina gave her a grateful smile, beginning to relax slightly.

Together, they worked quickly to prepare the tea and treats, keeping up idle chatter with the trio before bringing a tray laden with pastries, tea, and fruit over, sitting to join them at the siblings' insistence.

"Freminent, right?" Furina asked, lifting her teacup as Freminent blushed and nodded.

"I noticed the clockwork penguin in your lap, did you create it yourself?" Furina asked and Freminent nodded.

"Yes, this is Pers. I hope to one day make him able to fly." Freminent said and Furina smiled.

"That sounds wonderful. I actually have a favor to ask you." Furina said and Freminent blinked in surprise.

"Me?" He asked quietly and Furina nodded, piquing Lumine's curiosity.

"Yes, you see, we met a little boy nearby named Lescot. Poor Lescot is suffering from Loneliness Syndrome and is enthralled by Prince Thelxie, ruler of the Water Imps, who looks very similar to Pers." Furina said and Lumine sucked in a breath realizing where Furina was going with this.

"I know it is rather short notice, but I was wondering if you could make a larger, blue version of Pers for the celebration tomorrow. The boy… the boy nearly lost his life yesterday chasing after Thelxie and his dead father. I thought that maybe, if he had a companion, he might not be so lonely." Furina said quietly and Freminent's eyes shined with determination, reaching out a hand to Furina.

"I understand, and would be happy to do so." Freminent said and Lyney and Lynette shared a smile.

"Well, let's make some magic happen." Lyney said with a flourish and they all set off to work.

Lumine watched with a soft smile the next day as the celebration began. The siblings had insisted on staying, everyone working late into the night to help build Prince Thelxie. The lack of sleep had been worth it to see the smile on Lescot's face as he embraced Prince Thelxie, Furina stepping into her role as Archon to crown Prince Thelxie and present them with the declaration Neuvillette had written up and signed.

"I can not thank you two enough." Zuria said, tears in her eyes as she watched the scene.

Lumine shushed her, pushing her to pose with her son and Prince Thelxie as she took a picture, streamers and balloons all around the cafe in the background. She handed the picture to Zuria who refused it.

"If it's not too presumptuous, please, would you frame it and keep it here?" Zuria said and Lumine nodded, watching as Furina showed a few sword moves to Prince Thelxie.

Zuria went to join her son, the painting she had brought of the willow tree in the lake hanging above the fireplace next to her.

Lumine smiled, picking up the cake Furina had made that had little meringue Prince Thelxies on each slice, digging into it as a feeling of contentment she hadn't felt since stepping foot in Teyvat washed over her.

"She looks happy. I'm glad." Lyney said quietly next to her, eating his own piece of cake and watching his siblings play with Lady Antoinette and Prince Thelxie.

Lumine nudged him affectionately before leaning against him slightly.

"You all deserve happiness and relaxation after everything." Lumine said and Lyney smiled.

"You're right, and I hope I can protect that future." Lyney said, reminding her of another Fatuus that was a defender of childhood dreams and happiness.

"Lyney, do you know if The Knave is going to Snezhnaya again anytime soon?" Lumine whispered, trying to keep Furina from hearing.

"Father is free to do as she wishes now for the time being after handing over the gnosis. She's recently returned to oversee the rebuilding efforts. Why? Is it about Master Childe? She did mention that he seemed to be doing much better with his vision returned, and that a strange man from Liyue seemed to be keeping him company." Lyney said and Lumine's lips quirked up in amusement and relief.

"Yes. That silly man never told me where he lived exactly, too dangerous of course, but I want to send my war buddy some cookies." Lumine said and Lyney grinned.

"Alright, but Father may require compensation in return. We don't do things for free after all. She prefers more savory items, although she would probably make an exception for one of Lady Furina's cakes." Lyney said, accepting the bag of cookies Lumine withdrew from her inventory.

Lumine narrowed her eyes.

Arlecchino would never get one of Furina's cakes. Not after everything she put Furina through.

"I can make her something but I will not ask Furina to do so." Lumine said coldly, hoping Lyney would take the hint.

Lyney raised a hand in surrender and understanding, promising to ensure the delivery before going to gather his siblings, the young boy's eyes fluttering in sleepiness from all the excitement.

As Furina shot Lumine an excited, pleased smile, Lumine could only hope that she would be able to protect Furina and her precious smile for the rest of her time here in Teyvat.
