Capítulo 55: Chapter 55

Bull grabbed Jamie by the arm and pulled him into the elevator. Jim stopped them on the first floor but Bull just pushed past him. Jamie didn’t protest. He was anxious to get away from the club and everyone in it. He had broken his own rule and sadly, although Bull had plotted to achieve his goal, Jamie knew he could have stopped him at any time just by saying, “Red.”

He didn’t say the word, so Bull didn’t stop. It was his fault, he told himself over and over again. Tears began to stream down his cheeks. They got into the Suburban and drove home in silence.

By the time they got to the house Jamie was angry. As soon as they were inside, Jamie told Bull in a quiet voice laced with vitriol, “You broke my only hard limit. How could you do that to me? You knew I was out of it. To say that I gave you dubious consent is the understatement of the century. I may have wanted it at the moment, but you knew how I’d feel once it was over, you bastard.”
